Just Add Ink #581 | Just Add Legs Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are 'Just Adding Legs' - Just Add Ink #581| Just Add Legs Challenge - suggested by fellow Just Add Ink team member Lou Kitzelman. How fun!

Yep, so anything that has legs you can use for this challenge. You are only limited by your imagination and your crafting supplies.

I'm using the Stampin' Up! Be Jolly stamp set for a super cute and super fun Christmas card. How cute is Santa with his short little legs and his big round belly?

I started my card today with some layers of Shimmery White cardstock and then I heat embossed the snow flurry image from the Stampin' up! Peaceful Deer stamp set. I repeat stamped this image on the card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then using the fabulous Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes I blended some Pool Party Ink over the embossing for an emboss resist look.

I've coloured in my images today using a mix of Copic Alcohol Markers and Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. I really love how the colouring turned out with these images and keeping to some traditional Christmas colours really adds to the festive feel of the card.

I've finished off the card today with my favourite trim - Linen Thread and some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels. Becuase the colours are bright and bold I really though that the card didn't need much trim and embellishment so really kept that all farily simple and basic.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'legs' elements the JAI Design Team used. I love the out of the box thinking that the DT memebers used for their projects this week. Cant' wait to see what your project will be!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TGIF Challenges | #TGIF342 Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | #TGIF342 Sketch Challenge. I always love a sketch challenge and they really help to get the creative ideas flowing. Pick a stamp set or some Designer Series Paper and use the sketch to get your creativity going.

Don't you just love this sketch from TGIF??!! It has a basic design element and then it gives you so much room to do what you feel lead to create. And as I was lead I used my creative license to change it up a little while still holding the basic design elements. And yes again, I'm using the Words of Cheer Bundle. I've really loved this bundle and have had so many creative ideas when using this bundle. To see my other projects using these products check them out HERE, HERE and HERE. I'm using a colour combo I used a couple of months ago again becuase I loved it so much - Soft Succulent, Polished Pink and Gold.

Instead of having an acutal circle on my card as per the sketch I've used he floral image from the Words of Cheer stamp set as my 'circle' element. I've stamped the floral image on Crumb Cake cardstock, heat embossed it with White Embossing powder and then coloured on the Crumb Cake Cardstock.

I just love to colour on coloured cardstock but sometimes when you try to do this with the ink colour straight onto the cardstock the ink colour changes and even gets a little lost into the cardstock background. The best way to colour onto coloured cardstock is to cover your image first with a Whisper White Craft Ink 'undercoat' layer and then add your chosen colour over top. Check out my Instagram Step-By-Step Tip I did a few years ago HERE on how you can achieve this different look.

I've used a combo of Linen Thread and the Gold Metallic Thread from the Retired Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo Pack for the trim across the card and then layered the 'Happy' from the Christmas Cheer Dies over top of that. I've die cut the 'Happy' with Vellum and Soft Succulent Cardstock.

I've then finished the card off with the floral dies from the Christmas Cheer Dies, using Soft Succulent, Polished Pink Cardstock and Gold from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. In the die cut flowers I've added 2021 - 2023 In Color Jewels for that extra touch of bling and then layered the heat embossed Christmas over the 'Happy' die cuts.

I just love how this turned out and the colouring on the coloured cardstock. If you haven't tried colouring on coloured cardstock before give it a go, you'll love the results.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #580 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #580 | Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by me. I saw these colours on Pinterest on a wedding/bridesmaid 'mood board' and thought they would be fabulous for a Just Add Ink colour challenge.

I just love the richness of the Evening Evergreen and then paired with the Blushing Brde and Gold makes for a stunning colour combination. Don't you think?

I've use the colours today for a Christmas Card using some never used before (by me) Stampin' Up! products - Festive Foliage Cling Stamp Set and the Bright Baubles Bundle.

I've started with the Evening Evergreen colour as my base layer and used some tone on tone stamping and ink blending to create a rich and almost regal looking base layer. I stamped the Festive Foliage stamp onto the Evening Evergreen cardstock with Evening Evergreen Classic Ink and then using a blending brush added some Evening Evergreen Classic Ink to the edges of the cardstock to create a deep and rich Evening Evergreen look. If you are recreating this at home you can make the colour as rich and intense as you like. The more ink you add the darker the look will become.

Over the base layer stamping and ink blending I splattered some droplets of water over the cardstock and then added flicks of gold embossing. The water lifts some of the ink colour so you get some lighter tones where the water lands and then the gold embossed splatters almost have the look of snow (even though we don't get snow here in Melbourne at Christmas time) to add to the Christmas look and feel of the card.

I've layered some of the dies from the Delicate Bauble Dies as the main 'centre piece' of my card. These gorgeous dies are stunning and you really don't need much else to go with them when using these on any project. They are a real statement on their own. The base layer of the bauble I've die cut using Blushing Bride and overlayed the intricate die cut, cut out of the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

It's all finished off with some Gold Embossed sentiments from the Bright Baubles Stamp Set, Linen Thread, Gold Metallic Thread (Retired) and Gilded Gems.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with this weeks challenge colours. Come and check out the rest of the amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team using these gorgeous colours at the JAI Blog. There is lots to see from the team this week. We hope that you will join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your fantastic projects for this weeks challenge.

Just Add Ink #579 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic Just Chose Two Challenge, chosen by Just Add Ink team member Jan McQueen - Just Add Ink #579 | Just Choose Two Challenge.

I haven't participated in a Just Choose Two challenge for a while so it's a nice change up in the schedule to do something different. This week its all about Foil, Glimmer and Shimmer. So all things sparkly and all things bling. I've gone with glimmer and shimmer but really all three elements can be interwined into one.

I've gone for a Christmas card using the Stampin' Up! Words of Cheer Bundle (yes, again). I love this bundle and I love to spend time to colour in the fabulous images. If you haven't seen my other projects using this bundle, check them out HERE and HERE.

It may be hard to see but I started this card with an Evening Evergreen base and then I've layered on that Basic White cardstock and the fabulous black and white stripe DSP from the Pattern Party DSP pack. I love that the black and white stripes can be used for any occasion or to celebrate any holiday. It just goes with everything.

My first element of glimmer and shimmer was to emboss a 'frame' on the DSP with Gold embossing powder. To do this I put a dot of the Versamark Ink refill on a clear stamping block and picked up some of the ink refil with the end of a Blender Pen. Using a ruler I then 'ruled' the Blender Pen with the ink refill on the end to rule the straight line. Once the line was done I then covered it with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it. So that's a fun little tip for you if you are ever wanting to get embossed lines on your projects. Its super easy to do and makes for a gorgeous look.

Using the floral image from the Words of Cheer stamp set. I heat embossed it with Black embossing powder on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. Then using a Water Painter, coloured the image in using Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Once the coloured image was all dry I added my next Glimmer and Shimmer element by painting the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the image for a gorgeous subtle shimmer. It's really hard to photograph the stunning glittery effect that the Wink of Stella gives but it looks so beautiful when all those little bits of glitter catch the light. It really adds to the festive feel of the card.

To finish the card off with my last bits of glimmer and shimmer I used the Gold Metallic Specialty paper to die cut the word 'Happy' from the Christmas Cheer Dies, added some of the Gilded Gems and tied a piece of the retired Gold Metallic Thread on the 'H'. It had ideas to add more glimmer and shimmer elements but thought that what I had added was just enough. Less is more sometimes.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'shiny' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Just Add Ink #577 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #577 | Inspiration Challenge. We've got a fabulous inspiration picture full of those autumn/fall feels, even though summer is just around the corner here in Australia.

While on a first glance at this picture you may think that there isn't that to glean from the picture to make a crafty project but the longer you look the more you get out of it. The colours, leaves, the water droplets, the autumn/fall theme. You are only limited by your imagination.

I've chosen some of the colours in the picture and some leaf elements for my green and gold (that's very Aussie, isn't it? Ha!) birthday card. I've used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent for my green colours and then added different gold elements to accent those gorgeous greens. I think Evening Evergreen is becoming one of my favourite colours. It's just absolutely stunning!

I've started with Evening Evergreen as my card base and then one of the layers I've used the Stiched Greenery Die on. The stitched leaves make for a gorgeous background! It's super pretty! Over that then is a piece of Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum. This shimmer vellum is amazing! It gives any project a delicate touch and makes for a stunning overlay for those elegant projects. The translucent shimmer gives any project such a beautiful sparkle. I wish you could see the shimmer in the photo because it really stunning! If you don't have some of this amazing Shimmer Vellum, do yourself a favour and get some and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous it really is!

Ove ther Shimmer Vellum I've added some strips of the Expressions in Ink DSP, some Gold Fine Art Ribbon and a small strip of Evening Evergreen. I love layering up DSP and mixing up different patterns. Sometimes you don't need much of the DSP to mix it up. Sometimes just a small strip will do.

I've added some retired Stampin' Up! gold thread (I still miss this and wish they would bring it back), the die cut leaf cut out of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, some of the 2021 - 2023 In Colour jewels and the Happy Birthday sentiment, embossed in Gold Embossing Powder.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Global Design Project #313 | #GDP313 | Color Challenge

Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the colour challenge over at the Global Design Project #313 | #GDP313 | Colour Challenge.

While this colour combo is mainly neutrals I first immediately of using the Stampin' Up! Be Jolly Stamp set to colour in the gorgeous Santa using Real Red and Basic Black.

I've used a mixture of Copic Markers that were as close as I could get to Stampin' Up! Colours as well as some Stampin' Blends (with a few added colours to complete the Santa look). Once coloured in I cut out Santa using my Scan N Cut. This gets a nice, neat cut and makes it look like it was cut out by a die.

I've used Sahara Sand Cardstock for my base layer and then one of the black and white patterns from the Pattern Party DSP. I love how striking the black and white buffalo check looks. It really makes a statement. Over the check is another layer of Sahara Sand.

I've finished my card off with some Black and White Bakers Twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack, Linen Threa, Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon, Real Red Wonderful Gems and an embossed sentiment.

I just love the super fun look that this Santa gives to any project and I'm sure I'll be using him again for another project in the Christmas season.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Fancy Friday | Colour Combo Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome, welcome! It's so good to have you here. I have a project for you for the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team. This month we have a gorgeous colour combination for you using Real Red, Old Olive and Coastal Cabana.

I immediately thought of creating a Christmas project when I saw these colours together. A mix of traditional Christmas colours with a non-traditional Christmas colour thrown in to mix it up a bit.

I've inked up the Stampin' Up! Words of Cheer Bundle (again, yes) for my card today, with some Black embossing and colouring in with Water Painters and Ink Refills. I like to emboss my images when Watercolouring on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper as the embossed outline tends to 'hold the colour in' when adding the colour.

Because the floral image is quite busy I really thought that all the card needed to finish it off was some Linen Thread, the die cut and embossed sentiment and some Basic Rhinestones for that little bit of bling.

I really enjoyed the theraputic process when making this card. When I have the time for it I really enjoy watercolouring and it is such a relaxing thing to do. Give it a go for that perfect relaxation technique.

Check out the rest of the colour combo creations that the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team has made on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram Account. This is where all their creations will be shared throughout the month, so make sure that you are following them to get all of the amazing ideas!

Want to join the fancy fun? Grab your stamping supplies, create a project based on the colour combo and then post it on Instagram or Facebook. Tag us or use #stampinfancyfriday when you share so we can 😍 at your project and share in our stories. Can't wait to see how these colours inspire you!

Just Add Ink #575 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #575 | Colour Challenge. This week its a fantstic colour challenge using two of the Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2023 In Colours - Polished Pink and Soft Succulent, and a little touch of gold. Super gorgeous and super pretty! Such a fun colour combo! Love it!

I've used the colours today for a Christmas card. While traditional Christmas colours tend to be red, green and gold, I thought why not have pink green and gold. Who says that you have to stick to traditional colours when making Christmas cards?

Today I've used the Words of Cheer Bundle from the Stampin' Up! July - Dec 2021 Mini Catalogue. Its a fabulous bundle. The stamp set has the gorgeous floral imge which is perfect for colouring and some festive sentiments and then also in the bundle are some amazing accenting dies to bring your Christmas creations to life.

I've embossed the large floral image with Black Embossing Powder on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper so that I could watercolour the floral image with the Polished Pink and Soft Succulent colours. So pretty! To get the leaves to look a little darker I just kept adding some of the Soft Succulent colour until I had the desired shade that I was after.

I pulled out one of my retired trims from the Stampin' Up! 2020 July - Dec Mini Catalogue to use on this card, I didn't have anything else that I thought was suitable. I love the bright gold trim on the card. The gold really adds to the festive feel. If you don't have the same trim as what I've used here you can use what you have on hand in your craft stash.

I've finished off the card with the 'Happy' and the flowers both from the Christmas Cheer Dies that are part of the Words of Cheer Bundle. Also finishing off the card is the embossed Christmas and some of the 2021 - 2023 In Colour Jewels in Polished Pink and Sof Succulent.

Just Add Ink #573 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here. I pray that you are all safe and well. It's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #573 | Sketch Challenge.

Just by looking at this weeks sketch it is fairly basic but with that you can make your project CAS (Clean and Simple) or you can go all out. I've gone for a fairly clean look this week, clean for me, as I want to make quite a few of these to send out to people as a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) or otherwise know as a 'paper hug'. So the cleaner the card is the quicker it is to make 'en masse '.  Looking at my card now I can think of a few things on how I can 'Step-It Up'. Sometimes though having a stripped back card you can really see all the different products at work. Are you a CAS card maker or one who likes lots going on?

My card today uses the Hand-Penned Suite from the Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue. Can I say that the Hand-Penned DSP from this suite is absolutely beautiful and has a range of colours in it that will appeal to everyone.  I've started my card today with a Shimmery White base and then used to strips of the Hand-Penned DSP. These two patterns are on either side of the one sheet and the go so well together.

I've then layered Penned Flowers Dies with an image from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. How pretty is the die cut in the background? I love it! I've then finished my card off today with the Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon, Linen Thread (Of Course!), Elegant Faceted Gems and an Embossed Sentiment from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Just Add Ink #571 | Just Add Lines Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are 'Just Adding Lines' - Just Add Ink #571 | Just Add Lines Challenge - suggested by fellow team member Kelly Kent.

The possibilities for lines as part of your project is limitless - could be lines of cardstock, lines on DSP or even lines of a song. Whatever you think lines could be, incorporate that into your project.

I've made my first Christmas card for this weeks challenge using the super cute and oh so adorable Stampin' Up! DSP Penguin Playmates DSP, that you can currently earn for FREE with the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration promotion.

I've tried to incorporate as many lines as possible to fit with this weeks challenge and all my line elements come from the DSP. On the base layer, the scarves and hats on the animals, even on the strips of DSP behind the animals.

This is one of those fabulous DSP's that Stampin' Up! put out and all the hard work is done for you. All I had to do was to fussy cut the animals out and then co-ordinate some of the patterned sheets together to make the card. If you wanted to use the DSP to mass produce some Christmas cards, a little bit of fussy cutting and then to cut up the DSP patterned sheets and you've got your cards done.

Finish your cards off with as much or as little embellishment as you desire. I've added some extra layers using the Hippo & Friends Dies, a little it of embossing, some Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker's Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack, Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and some of the 2021 - 2023 In Colour Jewels.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what lines elements the JAI Design Team used. I love the out of the box thinking that some of the DT memebers used for their projects this week. Cant' wait to see what your project will be!

Just Add Ink #565 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. I've had a bit of a break from creating and blogging but I'm so happy to be back here with you today!

Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic colour challenge chosen by Just Add Ink Design Team member Lou - Just Add Ink #565 | Colour Challenge.

We've got two of the gorgeous Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2023 In Colours - Polished Pink and Pale Papaya, and then teamed those two colours with Basic Black from the Basics Collection.

I've gone for a Shimmery White card for you today and then added small pops of colour using the challenge colours. The beauty of these challenges is that you can use as much or as little of the challenge colours for your creation. I've gone for a less is more look today.

The base of my card is Shimmery White. I've created a 5" x 5" square card and then using my Brother Scan 'N' Cut, I cut a 4" square out of the front panel. This then created a frame on the front panel to then lay the floral die cut pieces, from the Artistic Dies, for a pretty front panel. Behind the die cut pieces I added a piece of the Expressions in Ink 12" x 12" DSP incorporates the gorgeous Pale Papaya colour with a beautful Watercolour/Alcohol Ink wash look.

Because the base layers of the card are so busy and so pretty too I didn't want much to layer over it. I've used some of the gold metallic pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some Linen thread. Over that is some of the classic black and white stripe DSP from the hostess Pattern Party 12" x 12" pack.

Layered over the DSP is a small strip of Polished Pink cardstock and then overlaid with the Happy Birthday Senitment from the Artisitcally Inked stamp set. I've then finished the card of with some another piece from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some of the super pretty 2021 - 2023 In Colour Jewels in Polished Pink.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with this weeks challenge colours. Come and check out the rest of the amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team using these gorgeous colours at the JAI Blog. We hope that you will join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your fantastic projects for this weeks challenge.
