Just Add Ink #498 | Just Add 'E'

Hello stamping friends! Welcome, Welcome! It's so good to have you here today! Another Friday has rolled around so that means its time for another Just Add Ink Challenge.

This week we are all about the letter 'E'. Could be for eggs, easter, elegant, your favourite fancy fold beginning with E, your favourite colour or stamp set. Whatever your imagination desires, as long as it begins with 'E'.

On first cglance when looking at my card for today, you may ask what does a regular card have to do with the letter 'E'. But when you open the card you reveal that it is an Easel Card. I've never made one of these before, so it was good to make something different that a standard card.

I've used products from the Ornate Garden Suite, that is on preorder for Stampin' Up! demonstrators at the moment. I've started the card with a Mint Macaron Card Base and then layered on that Shimmery White Cardstock and soem of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper. The patten on the DSP was a little too busy for my liking with the large floral image so I covered it with Vellum to make for a softer look.

I stamped the floral image from the Ornate Style Stamp Set with Versamark Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and then embossed it with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The image was then watercoloured with various Stampin' Up! Classic Inks using an aqua painter. I've used the border die from the Ornate Borders Dies, die cut on Gold Foil Sheets, as an accent on the front of the card but also for the strip on the inside to 'hold' the card up.

The card has been finished off with a sentiment from the Band Together Stamp Set, some gold embossed splatters, Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine and some Gilded Gems.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration for this weeks challenge and that you will come and join in the fun. Make sure you check out the Just Add Ink Blog to see the rest of the gorgeous projects from the JAI Design Team. We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using this weeks theme. We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week to see your fabulous projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Corporate Blog Post | Breathtaking Bouquet | One Stamp, Three Different Looks

This post originally appeared on the Stampin' Up! Facebook Page in the Notes section on 12th March, 2020. You can see the original post here.

Hello there, stamping friends! Rochelle Blok, here, from Melbourne, Australia. I have the pleasure of sharing my projects with you today for the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team.

Today I’m sharing the beautiful and amazing background stamp from the January–June 2020 Mini Catalog, Breathtaking Bouquet. This stunning stamp comes in cling-mount (item 151612) and wood-mount (item 152201) and makes beautiful floral backgrounds that you can use all-year round.

I’ve used three different coloring techniques to give you three different looks for this amazing background stamp.

I started my first card by embossing the Breathtaking Bouquet image on Smoky Slate Cardstock (item 131291) with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (item 109132). The best way to stamp this large stamp, especially when using the cling stamp, is to use your Stamparatus (item 148187). If you don’t stamp the full image properly the first time, use the Stamparatus to hold your cardstock in place with magnets; then simply stamp until the full image is stamped.

To color the image on this card, I first put down a layer of Whisper White pigment ink (item 147277); I then colored in the image using Flirty Flamingo (147052), Mango Melody (item 147093), Gorgeous Grape (item 147099), and Mossy Meadow (item 147111) inks. Putting down the layer of Whisper White ink, first, allows you to color on colored cardstock and create an opaque look with Stampin’ Up! inks.
To finish off the card, I layered Mint Macaron 1/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon (item 151321) with the Very Vanilla 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim (item 149593), Linen Thread (item 104199), and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set (item 151595). The label and the bee embellishment both come from the Botanical Prints Product Medley (item 151301). Super cute and super fun to mix things up from different suites and kits.

By changing up the coloring medium for the second card, I changed the whole look and feel. This time I stamped the Breathtaking Bouquet image on Crumb Cake Cardstock (item 121685) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink (item 132708), then colored in the stamped image with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Did you know that you can use the Stampin’ Blends on Crumb Cake Cardstock? Give it a go and you’ll be surprised by the whole new look you’ll get with Stampin’ Blends colors.

For each “color” on the card, I’ve used three Stampin’ Blends Markers to create a bigger graduation of color from dark to light.

Blends Used -

Pink Floweres -  Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (item 149572), Flirty Flamingo Light Stampin’ Blends Marker (item 147031)
Purple Flowers - Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack (item 147276), Purple Posy Light Stampin’ Blends Marker (item 149564)
Yellow Flowers -  Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (item 147945), So Saffron Light Stampin’ Blends Marker (item 149555)
Leaves -  Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack (item 148547), Granny Apple Green Light Stampin’ Blends Marker (item 146876).

To add to the “grunge” look of the card, I splattered a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (item 100082) over the card by flicking the brush tip end, then finished off with an embossed sentiment from the Band Together Stamp Set (item 149231), Gold Sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins (item 151325), Rococo Rose Scalloped 1/2" (1.3 cm) Linen Ribbon (item 149704), and some Gold Glimmer Paper (item 146958) die cut with one of the dies from the Painted Labels Dies (item 151605).

My last card was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, but this time it is on my all-time favorite white cardstock—Shimmery White (101910). I use Shimmery White for nearly everything, and the subtle shimmer is just beautiful. The thing I love most about this cardstock is that you can watercolor on it. It’s not the same as using watercolor paper, and you do have to watch the amount of water you use—but yes, you can watercolor on it and get beautiful results.

I like to watercolor by first heat embossing the image; this holds the color in the part of image that you are coloring. I first brush a light layer of water on the image, then dip my Aqua Painter (103954) in the desired color. I lightly drop the color into the layer of water and watch the color being pulled through the water to color the image. For the image in this card, I’ve used Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Highland Heather (item 147103), and Garden Green (item 147089) inks. Finish off the card with some ribbon, trim, die cuts, and a sentiment, and you’ve got a pretty card ready to mail.

I do hope that I’ve inspired you today with the Breathtaking Bouquet Background Stamp and some different coloring techniques. By changing the products with each card, it’s amazing how you can completely change the look, yet still use the same stamp. Why not try this amazing stamp with your favorite colors and see what look you come up with?

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Best Dressed Suite with Sale-a-bration Second Release Blog Hop

Hello again stamping friends. Welcome to this month's edition of the Stamapin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. This month we are showing you with a purchase of a few Stampin' Up! products, what you can earn from the Sale-a-bration Second Release promotion and then from there what you can make with these products.

International readers please use the translate feature, found in the side bar, to translate to your language.

Sale-A-Bration is such an exciting time of the year—and it just got even better, with more fantastic products to earn with the Sale-a-bration Second Release! More products mean more creative possibilities to experiment with! Who doesn't love more creative possibilities?!

The products purchased from the Best Dressed Suite in my first project on the left will earn you for free the So Very Vellum Speciality Designer Series Paper used in the project on the right. I've embellished the gift bag with the products from the Best Dressed Suite. This will then give you another opportunity to use the products initially purchased incorporated with your freebie.

My first project starts with Petal Pink and Whisper White cardstock base layers with the top layer embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. This is such amazing embossing folder when you want to add some texture, but you don't want anything too over the top. Added to the embossed texture is some Gold heat embossing splatter for more laying of texture.

I've then used two patterns from the Best Dressed 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper and die cut two circles to start the layering focal point. Next on top of that is the super gorgeous Mint Macaron 1/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon. I love that this ribbon is thin as it makes it easier to add to any project without being too much.

Next added to the layering is some flowers fussy cut from the DSP and some die cut from the
Dressed to Impress Photopolymer Stamp. The mix of  the DSP with the stamped images really makes for a fun eclectic look.

Last up is the perfume image from the stamp set, the fun 'Hello Fabulous' sentiment from the same stamp set and the gorgeous and fun  Best Dressed Tassel, which I trimmed to fit better on the card.

With the products purchased to use in my first project, you can earn the So Very Vellum Speciality Designer Series Paper for free. Spend $90 on product from any catalogue and its all yours! It comes in three different colours - Pool Party, Purple Posy, Soft Sea Foam all with the same embossed design. I've used it here to make a super cute gift bag. There are many tutorials online to make any bag size that you want depending on what you need it for. How cute would it be to make the same bag in all three vellum colours? Super gorgeous. I chose the Purple Posy colour as the DSP from the Best Dress Suite has Purple Posy in it and this made for a more coordinated look.

I started with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies for the tag. I punched the end with the
Banner Triple Punch, embossed the tag with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder and then cut the tag in half to elongate it. Where the tag has been cut in half that is where I layered all the pieces to hide that I cut it.

When making a bag out of the So Very Vellum score and fold very gently.  Pressing too hard will make the score lines crack when you try to make the bag and put it together.
Using the same DSP patterns, DSP fussy cut and stamped images, ribbon and trim really matches the gift bag to the card. Got to love things coordinating! I've attached the card with the Mini Library Clips but you can punch some holes in the top of the bag, tie with some ribbon and then attach the card with some twine or linen thread.

Instead of using the So Very Vellum Speciality Designer Series Paper as a gift bag, use it as the front layer of a card and then add the 'tag' on to your card.

For every $90 or $180 AUD you spend, you choose a free item from either the first and/or second Sale-A-Braton brochure that matches the level you spent. Spend $90 on from the January–June Mini Catalogue or any other current catalogue, and earn the So Very Vellum So Very Vellum Speciality Designer Series Paper for FREE.

I've listed the products used in my card, which is enough to get the So Very Vellum
Speciality Designer Series Paper. Add a few other products like cardstock, ink and adhesives to bring your total up to $180 in product and you can get yourself another item for free with the So Very Vellum. Super fun to get two freebies!

Click on the items to order straight from my online store. Order NOW! The Sale-A-Bration earning period ends on March 31, 2020. Don't miss out on getting the amazing FREEBIES!!! Contact me today to see how you can get your free products.

Next up on the hop is the very fabulous Stesha Bloodhart in the U.S. Check out her amazing creations and her amazing ideas using the Sale-a-bration products.

Now, after all that information on to my projects. I've made two cards for you today with this beautiful vintage, floral suite. Don't you just love the cheerful spring theme, and  the variety and scope of its beautiful, coordinated product offering. This suite is just amazing!!

Both of my cards use one of the dies from the Ornate Layers Dies. These dies are so detailed and intricate and they look amazing layered together or used individually. I've used the biggest die from the set and cut it on Gold Foil Cardstock. I've then marked in the inner corner of the die cut piece and trimmed out the center to create an ornate frame. Using the Gold Foil really gives the die cut piece that something 'extra' and adds to that vintage, ornate look of the suite.

My first card I've started with Shimmery White cardstock base layers and then embossed the top layer with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder gives you gorgeous little 3D flowers imprinted into your cardstock. It really is a gorgeous embossing folder and I can see it will be one of those folders that can coordinate with any project making it very versatile. Once the top layer was embossed I splatterd the Mint Macaron Stampin' Write Marker to add an extra visual layer.

I've then layered some pieces of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper next and then the gorgeous floral image, embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, from the Ornate Style Stamp set. I've then used an Aqua Painter to colour it in using the colours Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Teracotta Tile. I've then finished the card with the big 'Thank You' from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set, this too has been heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Also finishing off this card is some of the Terracotta Tile Ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack, Linen Thread and the Gilded Gems.

To change up the look from my first card I've swapped out the embossed layer with some of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Pape. This sheet of DSP is Mint Macaron in colour with some ornate gold foil. And it just looks AMAZING!!! The Mint and the Gold is such a stunning combo. I can see myself using this one again. I'm loving it lots!!! Other colours in the DSP sheets (not seen in my project here) include Early Espresso, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White and a BRAND NEW 2020 - 2021 In Colour!!! Super exciting to start to see the new In Colours for the next Annual Catalogue.

I've finished this card off with similar products to the first, but just changing a few things up with the different orientation.

With so many products and so much versatility, the possibilities are endless as to what you can create. You are only limited by your imagination!
