Stampin' Up! For Unto Us Stamp Set

Hello stamping friends! I'm sharing with you a project I've recently created using the For Unto Us Stamp Set found on pg.35 in the Stampin' Up! 2020 August - December Mini Catalogue. I love this stamp set as all these words in each sentiment ring loudly in my heart as to what the Christmas Season is all about. For me celebrating Jesus and his birth on to the earth is the reason for the season.

While this stamp set is made up of just sentiments, I wanted to show you today that you can make cards with just sentiments and have them to be the main focus of your project. Not just the 'extra' finishing touch that we usually use the sentiments for.

I've kept the colours today and elements today very simple as I really wanted 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' to be the main focus and where your eye is drawn to first. I've started the card with some base layers of Whisper White and then overlaid a piece of the oh so very beautiful Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper. This flocked vellum is just enough to create an elegant background with the white on white. Try this amazing paper with a solid colour behind it and it will transform the paper with a new and different look.

For the centre panel I used a piece of Shimmery White, Embossed 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing' with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Then, using Misty Moonlight Ink and a blending sponge, blended the ink over the cardstock for an ombre of that gorgeous Misty Moonlight Blue colour. Don't you just love how the white words just come through the ink? It makes for a stunning emboss resist look.

Once I was happy with the graduation of colour I die cut the main sentiment with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then finished off the card with the smaller sentiment, some ribbon, trim and embellishments.

While this is a very clean and pulled back card for me, I love the beauty in the simplicity. Sometimes less is more as the saying goes.

I do hope that you will try to use sentiment stamps, especially larger ones, that can make for amazing custom cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Corporate Blog Post | Gift Wrapped Bundle

This post originally appeared on the Stampin' Up! Facebook Page in the Photo Albums Section
on 23rd Oct 2020.

Hello! My name is Rochelle and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I will be sharing three projects with you for some fun and different looks using the Gift Wrapped Bundle from the August–December 2020 Mini Catalogue.

My first card for you today uses one of the large bows from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set to make a fun bow background. I stamped 10 of the bows on Shimmery White Cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then, using a Water Painter, I watercolored the bows using Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo ink.

I punched out the bows using the Gift Bow Builder Punch and arranged the bows over a layer of Shimmery White Cardstock for a fun bow background. To achieve a “distressed” look, I splattered the bows with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. I then embossed one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies and finished the card off with gold cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Real Red 3/8" (1 cm) Sheer Ribbon, and one of the sentiments from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set.

My second project incorporates one of the smaller bow images from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set to make a gift card holder. I stamped the bow image over a whole piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then colored the images using a Water Painter. I’ve only used one portion of the whole stamped sheet here today but this would be a perfect “One Sheet Wonder” project or class using all of the stamped cardstock for 4–5 different projects.

I finished off this card with some ribbon and trim, a die-cut piece of the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper, and one of the large bow images watercolored with Shaded Spruce and Coastal Cabana ink. How cute is that little tag? The image is from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set, and I used the Gift Bow Builder Punch to punch out the gorgeous little tag.

My last card for you today incorporates one of the larger bows from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set and some ribbon and trim to make a “gift-wrapped” card. Again, I’ve colored the bow with Shaded Spruce  and Coastal Cabana ink. I love these two colors together and I’m sure I’ll be using this combo again in the near future.

To make a fuller-looking bow, layer two of the bow images on top of each other. Finish the card off with a sentiment from the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set and the super-cute little tag.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with this gorgeous bundle from the Stampin' Up! 2020 Aug - Dec Mini Catalogue. The stamp set and the punch are such fun products and will give any of your next projects a super cute look.

Why not make a matching envelope to go with your Gift Wrapped creations and stamp some of the bow images on your envelope? Wouldn't that make for a fun envelope to receive in the post!

Just Add Ink #528 | Just Add Two Challenge

Hello stamping friends. Welcome to the newest challenge for Just Add Ink #528 | Just Choose Two - Sequins, Ribbon or Metallic Foil. I haven't done a Just Choose Two for a while so i'ts nice to have a change up in the challenge schedule.

I love to use Sequins, Ribbons and Metallic Foil on most of my projects so it was hard to 'Just Choose Two'. I knew I wanted to use foil, especially the Wonder of the Season Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper has whimsical, seasonal text that lends to an international and vintage feel with some gold and red foil in some of the designs. I've used this paper in some of my other Christmas cards and each time I do I just love how each project looks with this stunning project.

I've started my card with the Shaded Spruce Cardstock and then teamed that with the Gold Foil Elements for that beautiful Green and Gold look. Layered on the Shaded Spruce is the Wonder of the Season Specialty DSP and I've edged the DSP with some Brushed Metallic Foil die cut with one of the Ornate Border Dies.

I've layered some card stock, die cut pieces, stamped elements and even some stickers for a fun layered look. One thing I love to do in this layered look is to emboss Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder on Gold Metallic Foil. The gold on gold look is stunning and it adds another beautiful look without adding more layers.

Now back to my 'Just Choose Two'. I was going to use all three 'Just Choose Two' elements, but this is where I came unstuck. I wasn't happy with any of the Ribbon or Sequins that I had and it all just wasn't looking right. So just pretend the Linen Thread and Gilded Gems are Ribbon and Sequins and I've got all the 'Just Choose Two' elements covered. Oops!

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | In the Pines

Hello again stamping friends! Welcome to the October Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. We are heading into nature this month with the In The Pines Bundle. While looking at this bundle you may just think that it's all trees, but on digging a little deeper you'll be surprised at what you can do with this bundle.

We've got lots of fabulous projects for you so I'm sure that there is something in this hop that will give you some inspiration when creating with this fantastic bundle.

International readers, please use the translate feature, found in the sidebar, to translate to your language.

I've two cards for you today with a, Christmas feel, using this gorgeous bundle and a colour that I very seldom use - Very Vanilla. I always opt for Whisper White or Shimmery White but thought the Very Vanilla would be perfect for my cards today.

I've used a couple of fun techniques on my cards today. I wonder if you can pick them out. One of them is probably one of my favourite to use and I've used it a few times before of late.

For my first card I've started with the Very Vanilla base and then used the Faux Embossing Technique with the larger tree die from the Pine Woods Dies. Layer the Very Vanilla tree die-cut shapes on the Very Vanilla card base. This mimics the look of dry embossing with an embossing folder and makes for such a fun technique.

I've repeat stamped the Seasons Greetings from the In the Pines Stamp Set on a piece of Very Vanilla using Real Red Classic Ink and then sponged over Crumb Cake Classic Ink. The dots stamp I've also repeat stamped over the Seasons Greetings and embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. This gives the fun snow falling look. I've finished the card off with some Green Foil Trees mixed with a Shaded Spruce tree and then the sentiment on Basic Black cardstock comes from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set. I picked out words from all the sentiments in this stamp set to make my own sentiment, embossed them with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then fussy cut around each word.

My second card again starts with Very Vanilla and is then made like the small circle in the first card. Seasons Greeting stamped in Real Red all across the Very Vanilla Layer, I then Clear embossed one of the trees over the stamped Seasons Greetings. Once the Crumb Cake is then sponged over the cardstock it leaves an emboss resist technique and then the tree can be seen though the Crumb Cake ink. I then embossed the dots all over the base layer with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

Again, I've layered the Green Foil Trees with the clear embossed Shaded Spruce and finished the card off with my custom sentiment, Linen Thread, and some Basic Rhinestones.

While the sponging of Crumb Cake ink over the Very Vanilla makes for a different look, I love how the Crumb Cake Sponging still allows the brightness of the Real Red to come though. Why not try using different images from your favourite stamp set for repeat stamping to create your own custom 'DSP'?

Next up on the hop is the oh so amazing Stesha Bloodhart in the U.S. I just love Stesha's amazing creative style. Her projects WOW me each and every time.

I know I say it every hop, but please make sure that you take the time to have a look around at all 16 Artisan Blogs for this blog hop. I'm sure you will be saying 'WOW, WOW, WOW" like I was for everyone's amazing creativity! You won't want to miss out!

Just Add Ink #526 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #526 | Inspiration Challenge. It's a little different from our usual inspiration challenges but I'm sure there is something there for everyone to get the creative ideas flowing.

For my project today I've taken the colours from the photo and then incorporated them in for a little bit of colouring. Blues, Greens and Neutrals. I've used the Stampin' Ornate Style Stamp Set and then coloured the image in with alcohol markers.

I've started my card with a Crumb Cake card base, stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured it with Alcohol Markers. I love using Alcohol Markers on the Crumb Cake cardstock. It just gives the colours  such a different look. The darker colours tend to work the best when colouring on the Crumb Cake, although I've used some lighter colours here today and they came up quite well. The lighter colours sometimes get lost and you can't see them as well as compared to the darker colours.

Because the mushrooms of the original photo had an ombre look about them, this gave me a few different blue tones to colour with ranging from dark blues all the way to the very light. I love the look of all the different blues together. Pretty!

Just to give my card that little something extra I embossed the front coloured panel with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, added some Linen Thread, some of the 20 - 21 In Color Enamel Dots and the Thanks sentiment from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set embossed on Misty Moonlight cardstock

While initially, I thought that there wasn't much in the inspiration picture for this week's challenge, if you look a little harder and dig a little deeper you might just find something. It isn't called a challenge for nothing.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

My card for you today features the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and the Curvy Dies for a soft and pretty card.

I've started my card today with a Whisper White cardstock base and then I've layered of that some Seasside Spray cardstock. The Seaside Spray layer I've embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and given it a beautiful edging with the Curvy Dies. These dies create stunning borders as well as die cutting the images from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set.

Using the images from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set I've then created a layered panel to layer under the sentiment. I've heat embossed the floral 'vine' image on the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper using the White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Then, using Just Jade and Misty Moonlight ink and a Water Painter, I've very gently coloured the images in. I like to heat emboss the image first when watercolouring as the embossing acts as a 'barrier' for the colour and holds the colour in place where you want it. It just means that you don't have to be quite as careful and can be a little bit quicker when colouring.

To finish off my sentiment panel I've layered some ribbon and trim that coordinates with the colours on the card, die cuts from the Curvy Dies, the super cute birds, heat embossed on Vellum from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set and then the Just for You sentiment also from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set.

These products can be used by the new stamper, all the way through to the Avid crafter. There is something in these products for everyone!
