Just Add Ink #733 | Just Choose Two

 Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #733 | Just Choose Two. This week our Just Choose Two Challenge has been chosen by team member Kerry.

This is our last challenge for the year. WOW! Where did the year go? This challenge will run for two weeks and then the Just Add Ink team will be back in mid-Jan after a well earned rest ready to share our creations and inspiration with you all again.

Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing from Elves, Reindeer, and Santa. I don't have anything that has Elves but I do have Reindeers but not much Santa crafting products. It was nearly going to be a Just Choose One week.

With some creative thought and a going though of all my crafting products I've come up with a Christmas Card with a reindeer wearing a Santa hat. That's all I've got. My brain is a bit fried creatively at the moment. I've gone into Christmas overload just trying to keep on track with everything during this Christmas season. Do you get a bit 'frazzled' this time of year?

I've used the Reindeer Days DSP for my card today. The main Reindeer image I've fussy cut from the Reindeer Days DSP.  I've had a lot of fun with the whole Suite this year and have used it for a lot of my Christmas crafting. I used one of the Sketches from the 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue for this card. The sketches make creating that little bit easier to get started and are the perfect way to get the creative ideas flowing.

Can you pick which one I used?

I've used Pool Party and Basic White for the base layers and then layered the Reindeer Days DSP with some Garden Green embossed cardstock, a die cut circle, and then some fussy cut DSP pieces, and some stickers from the Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Pack.

I've finished the card off with a heat embossed sentiment and some Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints.

This is my last card for 2024. I've had so much fun sharing all my creations with you all and I'm looking forward to bigger and better creative things for 2025. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

CASE-ing the Catty | #ctc498 | CASE a project featuring animals

 Hello Stamping Friends. Welcome to a super exciting CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop. We at CASE-ing the Catty are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues (Catty) with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit.

If you've come from Rochelle Laird-Smith's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome. It's so good to have you here.

This week we are CASE-ing a project from either the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue or the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue that features animals. There are quite a few options in both catalogues to CASE from.

My cards are loosely inspired by this gift bag sample from the Nests of Winter Suite that is in the 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue. While I didn't make a gift bag like the sample I used some of the design elements from the gift tag that accompanies the bag.

While I'm still in Christmas crafting mode I made a couple more Christmas cards for this weeks CASE-ing the Catty Challenge. Like the original sample I've kept the circle element and a rectangle that is a similar size to the actual tag. I've combined the Country Woods DSP with some of the products from the Reindeer Days Suite. I've incorporated the Reindeer Fun Stamp Set, the Reindeer Days DSP, the stickers from the Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Pack, and the Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints.

The Pool Party layer on both cards I used one of the stamps from the Reindeer Fun stamp set to stamp and heat emboss my own 'DSP' as such. I couldn't find a DSP that I liked to go on the card so I made my own.  I then cut the cardstock with the Deckled Regtangle Dies.

 

The stickers from the Memories & More card packs are a fun way to accent either your memory keeping or your cards. These images from the Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Packs are so festive and really add to the Christmas look and feel of your Christmas crafts.

On the first card I used one of the stickers for the sentiment but on this one I stamped the sentiment for a different look.

I think with these two cards I've finished making my Christmas cards for the year. I think. Time to get them in the post.

Just Add Ink #729 | Colour Challenge

 Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #729 | Colour Challenge.This week our colour challenge has been chosen by Kim.

This week we have a bright and colourful colour challenge for you. We have Petunia Pop, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and Azure Afternoon. In all the Stampin' Up! colours I don't think we could get much brighter. Even though these aren't your usual Christmas colours I still created a Christmas card for you this week.

I've used the Decorative Trees Bundle to create this bright and fun Christmas card. I used a technique to create the watercolour background that I've not used before. It was fun to try something new (new for me). The technique was called Plastic Bag Watercolouring. It was messy but it was fun. And super easy to achieve a watercolour background.

For this technique wet down your Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper with water in a water painter, press your ink pad onto a Zip lock bag, place your hand in the bag and flip it over and 'smoosh' the colour onto your wet watercolour paper. Move the bag around and the colour until you have achieved the desired 'watercolour' look.

 

I've used Basic White as the base layer for the card as this provides a beautiful contrast to the brightness of our challenge colours. I've then layered some Granny Apple Green and Basic White for the next layer and created my own embossed background by using the paper scoring blade on my Paper Trimmer. Over that I've then splattered the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write marker for some more colour without adding too much colour. Less is more, right?

Over the water colour trees I've layered some retired silver glimmer paper for more of a fun festive look. Silver felt like a better choice with these colours than gold and this glimmer paper was all I had in Silver. How fun are the sparkles from the glimmer paper? Love it!

I've really kept this card very CAS as I wanted the colours to be the main focus of the card. I haven't even used embellishments or ribbon & twine. Who is this person? Ha! It's very rare that I don't have embellishments and ribbon & trim on my cards.

CASE-ing the Catty | #ctc495 | Case a die project from either catalogue

This week we are CASE-ing a project using dies from either the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue or the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue. I realised after I made my box that the sample I CASE-d my project on isn't actually in either catalogue because the products used in the sample are Online Exclusives. Oops! I figured I was still CASE-ing a Stampin' Up! sample so I thought I would just go with it.

I love the layering of the original sample along with the addition of the twine and embellishments.

From the original sample it looks like it is a box, so I made a box as well. I've made a simple 'pizza' style box but rectangular instead of square. It's the perfect size to hold a few chocolates or a small gift.

The DSP used comes from the A Little Bit Festive Mix & Match Specialty DSP. I love the Night of Navy Gingham and not only is it perfect for your Christmas crafts but it's a DSP design that can be used all year round. So versatile! Under the DSP layers I've used one of the Christmas Label Dies, cut in half, made to look like it was one long die. I hadn't planned for the negative pieces of the die cut to stay in but when I pulled the die cut out of the die and they all stayed in I thought it looked awesome that way so in they stayed. This is a fantastic way to give different look to your die cuts.

I've embellished my box using the Joyful Images and Joyful Sayings Mix & match Ephemera. I've layered the ephemera and sentiment like the design on the original box. I've changed the orientation of the twine only because I liked it better horizontal instead of vertical. Personal preference.

I've finished the box off with a placement of a few of the Opal Rounds. They coordinate so perfectly.

I love that when using the Mix & Match Ephemera how quick your creation comes together, and the ephemera makes for some budget friendly crafting.

Global Design Project #470 | #gdp470 | Sketch Challenge

 Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #470 | #gdp470 | Sketch Challenge. 

Today I've made a fun Christmas card for you all using the gorgeous Stampin' Up! Reindeer Days Suite Products. I've made quite a few things with these suite products of late. It's just such a super cute suite that Stampin' up! have put out in their 2024 Sept-Dec Catalogue. I'm loving it and it's so versatile!

 Here I've gone for a Basic White card base and let the colours of the DSP and cardstock stand out against the white in a gorgeous contrast. While the DSP and die cuts are quite busy, I think by putting them on a white card base they 'tone down' a little. And I just love a white card base. It's so fresh and crisp!

Under the DSP I've used one of the Christmas Label Dies for some added interest. The die is cut in half to make it look like it's a larger die than what it actually is.

I've finished the card off with the Reindeer Fun Die cuts, an embossed 'Merry Christmas' sentiment, Real Red and White Baker's Twine, and the gorgeous Real Red and White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints. Lots of fun and cuteness!

CASE-ing the Catty | #ctc494 | CASE the Sketch

 This week we are CASE-ing one of the samples on Pg. 26 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue and using that sample for our challenge sketch.

I've used the sketch to create a fun and super cute Christmas Card using the Reindeer Days Suite, but mainly the Reindeer Days DSP.

I've gone for some fussy cutting this week use the images from the Reindeer Days DSP to create a little reindeer scene. Do you love fussy cutting or not? It's like the love hate relationship people have with Coriander. You either love it or hate it. I love fussy cutting and coriander!

I've started the card off with Pecan Pie cardstock and then used the amazingly detailed circle die from the Reindeer Fun Dies to create the die cut background. I've layered an embossed piece of Basic White behind the circle for some added texture and interest.

Once I cut the die cut piece, I've then arranged the DSP pieces to keep the same design elements as the sketch. The present next to the tree is one of the stickers from the Reindeer Days Memories and More Card Pack and then I've finished the card off with the layer of DSP, the embossed sentiment and the super cute Real Red& White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints.

Just Add Ink #726 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous inspiration picture challenge - Just Add Ink #726 | Inspiration Picture Challenge.

This week the inspiration picture has lots of greens and browns and also a lot of elements in nature. With that for my card today I've made a Christmas card that incorporates some of those greens and browns and also the nature elements with some Christmas Trees and as well as some Holly.

I've gone for a quick but fun card today by using the Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Pack to make my card. I needed something quick to make this week as I've been unwell for most of it with the flu and didn't have much time to create something. This card pack is not only gorgeous for your Christmas memory keeping but they are fantastic to create a quick Christmas card or two.

I've used Basic White as my base and added an embossed layer using the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder and then I cut down one of the larger cards from the card pack to fit my card front. I loved the lighter green on this card and then the darker green boarder to add a frame.

I've then used one of the smaller cards from the pack for the next layer and layered it with Basic White and then embellished it with some of the stickers from the card pack and as well as some Pool Party Pompom Ribbon, Linen Thread, and some Silver Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments. 

Next time you're in a pinch and need a card quick, use some of the cards from one of the Stampin' Up! Memories and More card Packs and you'll have your card made in no time.
