Just Add Ink | JAI #547 Inspiration Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink | JAI #547 Inspiration Challenge. We've got a fun Easter wreath as our inspiration this week, so you could make an Easter inspired project, use some of the colours from the inspiration or even a fun wreath. Whatever inspires you from the picture.

I picked out some of the colours from the inspiration picture for a pretty striped butterfly birthday card. I've used mostly colours from the Stampin' Up! Subtles colour family with one or two others to make a soft rainbow look and then layered the stunning butterfly dies, Brilliant Wings, for a gorgeous butterfly card.

I cut 1cm strips of the coloured cardstock for the fun striped background. From left to right the colours I used are - Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron, Petal Pik, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral. How gorgeous are al those colours together? Pretty!!!

To make the Basic White Frame I placed two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies inside each other and then ran them through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine together so as they both cut at once. The stitched elements on the bordering frame really give that little bit of added interest with out adding more layers and elements.

I've finished off the card with a simple Gold embossed 'Happy Brithday and then a scattering of the Basic Rhinestones. I love the beautiful soft colours in this and then the layering of the crisp and bright white.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TGIF Challenges | #TGIFC308 Inspiration Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | #TGIFC308 Inspiration Challenge. I've not had much motivation to create the last few weeks. I find with the summer/warmer months I'd rather be outside enjoying the great outdoors and then once I've had my fun outside I've run out of time to get crafty.

When I saw this week's challenge, though, over at TGIF, I just couldn't resist. This week they have a gorgeous inspiration challenge. From the picture, you could incorporate some watercolour wash, use some of the pretty colours or even add some florals. I've gone for some pretty florals. Any opportunity to add some florals to a card and you've got me.

I'm creating again with the Beautiful Brushstrokes dies, as I did in my last post, but instead of layering three colours from dark to light, I've just used the one colour for the layered roses. How pretty do the roses look? Gorgeous.

My card started with some soft colours from the Subtle and Neutrals Stampin' Up! colour families, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Crumb Cake, and then I added the beautiful contrast of the bold Night of Navy.

For some added interest when layering up the card base I added one of the super pretty Ornate Layers Dies. I kept the die cut layer the same colour as the other layers so that it blends in with the rest of the Crumb Cake cardstock but you can still see the pretty detail of the border with out it overtaking the whole card.

I've finished off the card with the Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack, some of the Gold Metallic Thread from the Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo Pack. A few of the Pearl Basic Jewels is the final finishing touch. Pretty, pretty, pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JAI #544 | Just Add 'L'

Hello there stamping friends. I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous Friday. Because it's Friday, that means that is time for another Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add Ink #544 | Just Add 'L'.

This is one of our fun letter challenges that seem to be quite popular. I love to use these letter challenges to embark on a new to me technique or a fancy fold that I've not tried before. This challenge I've made a Lever card. If you've not seen a lever Card before the middle panel of the card front 'levers' through the window portion of the card. For a tutorial on how to make a Lever Card, I used this one HERE.

The inspiration for my card today came from one that fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Teneale Williams made a few weeks ago. I loved her mix of using the True Love DSP with Crumb Cake Cardstock and also the addition of the layered floweres from the Beautiful Brushstrokes Dies.

I love the mix of the two different DSP patterns on the front. Don't be afraid to mix patterns or prints. The Polka Dots and the Stripes both in Black and White work so well together and make for a fun look. I was going to sponge the Polka Dot panel with Blushing Bride Ink but felt that it didn't look right and the pop of colour from the die cut flowers was all the colour that I needed against the neutrals.

When the card is fully open there is some DSP layering and some embellishment with the Brushstrokes Dies on the greeting panel. Can't have a blank card on the inside!

The colours used on the flowers are, from darkest to lightest, Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose and Blushing Bride. For the leaves I used Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.

The white panel on the inside leaves more than enough room to write a message to the recipient. I've finished off the card with some basic ribbon, trim and embellishments for a beautiful classic look.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration for this week's letter theme. Please head on over to the Just Add Ink Blog to see all the variety in the JAI Design Teams Projects and then come and join in the fun of this week's Just Add 'L' challenge. Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
