TGIFC #56 - Love of the Game

Whoop, Whoop!! Super exciting! Its a new Friday and a new challenge at TGIF Challenges. I'm so happy that you have stopped here today. This weeks challenge is a theme challenge with all things sports and everything that goes with that.

While I don't have any sporting stamps I thought I would do a bit of a 'Well Done, Way to Go, Cheering from the sidelines' card and the perfect stamp set to do that with is the retiring photopolymer set, Bravo. Fabulous for all things encouraging and congratulating.

I've started with some layers of Basic Black and Basic Gray and then used some of the DSP prints from the 12"x12" Neutrals DSP stack. I've inked up the 'Way to Go' stamp first with Versamark and then inked over that with Real Red so that I could emboss the words with clear embossing powder and give the words some shine and shean. This is the best way to get embossing in every colour in the Stampin' Up! colour collection. You don't need an embossing powder in every colour.

The card then is finished off with some Basic Black ribbon, Basic Black Bakers twine, Gold Sequin Trim and some gold glimmer paper. I'm going to miss that Alphabet Rotary stamp when it officially retires in a few weeks. I love that with the Alphabet Rotary stamp you can make your own setiments and add what you want to say to your creations.

I do hope that you will play along this week. For all the details on this weeks challenge and to see the projects from the ever fabulous Design Team,  click here. Remeber to mention TFIG Challenges in your blog post and when sharing your project publicly, please use this weeks hashtag- #TGIFC56.

Just Add Ink #312 | Swirly Bird Colour Combo

This weeks Just Add Ink challenge is a beautiful colour challenge of blues and greens as suggested by fellow DT member, Patrice. I had originally thought a beautiful sea scape lends itself perfectly to these colours but I just couldn't figure it out in my head. Maybe you can create it and enter it in  this weeks challenge.

I then pulled out my very new stamp and thinlits set, Swirly Bird and co-ordinating framelits Swirly Scribbles. These are available June 1st and the best thing is this is one of the new bundles in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. Purchase the stamp set and the thinlits together and you can save yourself 10%. Winning!!!

I started with the Bermuda Bay cardstock down the side and pleated the strip of the the Mint Macaron DSP from the retiring It's My Party DSP.  It took me a few goes to get the pleating right as I didn't measure it. That will teach me for having a lazy moment and I could have saved my DSP instead wasting it. Grr. I've then pulled out my mums sewing machine, thanks Mum (I really should give it back but I'm loving it and don't want to), and sewed the pleating to the Bermuda Bay.

I've stamped the splatter image from the Swirly Bird set on the card front in Bermuda Bay. See those silvery splatters on the card, that is from flicking the clear Wink of Stella to give the card a shimmery, shiny look. Its really pretty but really hard to photograph its shimmery goodness.

The swirly die is actually cut from two dies from the new Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. Loving these thinlits. Got some more fab ideas to use with them too, so watch this space. Love the metallic thread on top of them too. Make for a fun and modern look.

The 'Hello You' is a sneak peek of a new product too. From a set called 'Thoughtful Banners'. Such an awesome set with a matching punch too. Yay!!! SO can't wait till June 1st when you can get these new products too! It's like waiting for Christmas.

Make sure you have a look at the rest of the Just Add Ink gals take on these colours. You will find all the details on this weeks challenge there too and when posting your creation remember to mention Just Add Ink in your blog post!

The Stamp Review Crew | Guy Greetings Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2016/05/stamp-review-crew-guy-greetings-edition.html

A big welcome to you today!!! Today the Stamp Review Crew have lots of fabulous projects to show you.We are a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators showcasing one stamp set at a time, every first and third Monday's of the month. This hop we are using the Guy Greetings stamp set which naturally lends itself for some male cards. Big thank you to my mum for lending me this set so I could create for this hop today. The family that stamps together ...

Ive gone for a 'Classic' Dad card using the vintage car image and some of the sentiments and words from this set. You could easily replace the repeated 'Dad' with father, grandpa, uncle, brother, husband and then the card could be for any male in your family.

I've used the Basic Black Archival ink to stamp 'Dad' and the vintage car and then Mossy Meadow for the sentiment. Such a great colour combo and then the hint of Sahara Sand just finishes it all off perfectly.

See that black patterned strip on the DSP. That is a new washi, Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape, from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, starting June 1st. I love that this fabulous washi tape which is predominately pink and pretty, is used on a male card.

The card is all finished off with some Candy Dots, Gold Sequins, 1/8" Gold Ribbon, Burlap Ribbon and the Blackberry Bliss Striped Cotton Ribbon. All fabulously co-ordinated for an awesome male card.

Now on to the super fabulous and fellow Aussie, Bruno Bertucci. I love his layers and all the dimension he puts into his creations. If you are hoping in reverse click on the previous blog button to head on to the wonderful, Dawn Tidd.

Remember, if you get lost along the way click on the SRC banner at the top of the page and you will be redirected to the full list of hoppers.

Happy Birthday to my big teenager!!

EEEKK! Today my biggest boy, Asher, turned 13 today!! I can't believe that I now have a teenager.  He was acutally born on Mother's Day and was my very first, most wonderful Mother's Day present, after 10 hrs of labour and being 2 weeks overdue. He weighed in at a whopping 9lb 15oz and as most mothers say the cliche saying, I will say it too, it only feels like yesterday he was born and I can remember very clearly the details of his birth, except the part my husband is adamant I said yet I have no recollection of, that I was 'Never doing that again'. Ha! Two more children after Ash. I don't think I  'Never did that again'.

I can't believe how much Asher has grown up in his 13 years. He is about a head shorter that my husband and myself (my husband and I are nearly the same height and I'm nearly 6ft) and as I've always said, I think it wont be long before he is taller than both of us. He is a beautiful natured boy, loving, caring, generous, kind, sharing, very willing to help at all times, fun loving, and he has a huge servant heart! I love now that he is getting older that we can converse on a more adult level and that he is growing into a young man.

For Asher's birthday, of course I made him a birthday card. I had a play around with some of the new 2016 - 2018 In Colours, Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim. These two colours a bold and rich and perfect for those male cards.

I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge splatter image with Basic Black Archivial ink on Kraft cardstock and then die cut stars out of Dapper Denim cardstock. What a gorgeous blue!! It's such a rich colour and so bold! It is stunning! Emerald Envy is just as beautiful! I can see these new colours getting a lot of use.

I've used Emerald Envy to stamp the Happy Birthday from 'Silhouette and Script', the hostess set. I lobe the look of the sentiment and the modern look to it . It goes perfectly with the Gorgeous Grunge. Its all finished off with some numbers die cut from the Large Numbers set, Gold Metallic thread and some Gold sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment. The two gold glimmer stars a helping hide the glue dots as I didn't want them to be visible through the vellum numbers. I think it looks better when you can't see the adhesives through the vellum. Makes for a much cleaner look.

I hope that I've inspired you a little today with some of the new upcoming In Colours. Now off to play with the rest of the other In Colours to see what I can come up with.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #310 - Just Add a Sketch

Welcome, welcome! Its another Friday and another Just Add Ink Challenge. Here's to the weekend!! This week its a sketch challenge of a different kind. A circle! You can make a circle card or like what I did use the circle element for a normal sized card.

I've cut a corrugated kraft and vellum circle and then layered some flowers cut from the Botanical Builder Dies. Boy am I going to miss that corrugated card when it retires in a few weeks. I can certainly say that I use it a lot!

I've layerd some Gold Fancy Designer Vellum on some Kraft cardstock and matched it with some Basic Black Striped DSP from the Neutrals Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stacks. I love these paper stacks and you can get each pattern (there are 4 I think) in every Stampin' Up! colour. You will always have some DSP on hand in the colour that you want. I think I've used all the Basic Black striped pattern now. So that is a bit of a problem. Oops! Will have to use another colour now.

The flowers are cut out of Pink Pirrouette, Basic Black and Old Olive. I've sponged around the edges to give the flowers and the leaves just a bit more depth of colour.

It's all finished off with some Gold Glimmer, Basic Pearls and my all time fav Gold Metallic Thread (I think it will soon be replaced by the Copper Metallic Thread coming out in the Stampin' Up! Annual cataloge coming in June. Love anything copper!)

This card is off to a good friend who did something very special for me a few weeks ago, it went in the post today! I just wanted to tell her how much I appreciated what she did.

Make sure you check out all the other amazing creations the other Just Add Ink gals have made. What a super talented group of gals!!! You will find all the details on this weeks challenge there too and when posting your creation remember to mention Just Add Ink in your blog post!

The Inkreators Blog Hop | Scrapbooking

Welcome to another Inkreations Blog Hop. You may have come from Liv or you may be starting here. Whatever the case I hope that we inspire your creativity today and get you scrapping. I've gone with a full 12" x 12" piece of plain Basic Grey card stock and then built my page from there.

I really had to think a bit with this theme as I haven't done any scrapbooking since my daughter was one week old. She is now 7 and has a very poor excuse for an album. I guess I got stuck into the card making in a major way and haven't really gone back to any scrapping.

I've started with my Basic Grey card stock and then flicked some gold Wink of Stella in the top left and the bottom right corners. To flick the Wink of Stella you have to get a little dirty and using your fingers pull back the brush tip and then let it flick off your fingernail. It will then leave shimmery splatters on your creations an be quite pretty.

Most of the DSP used on the layout comes from the 12" x 12" paper stacks. They have a variety of patterns and they come in all the current colours. They are a handy choice when you don't have a DSP in the colour that you want.

The stamps that I've used to accent the page are Timeless Textures, Gorgeous Grunge and the ever fabulous Alphabet Rotary Stamp. Very sad to see the Rotary stamp retiring but I think there will be something fantastic to replace it in the new up coming 2016 - 2017 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. Just sayin'.

I didn't want too much journaling on the page. Just a few word cut out of dies or stamped to convey what I wanted to say on the page. I have to go back and figure out when these photos where taken as these shots are quite a few years old and my kiddies have grown just a little since then.

The page has been finished off with some Burlap Ribbon, Crochet Trim, Gold Basic Buttons and some Gold Sequins. I could have kept going with the embellishments but sometimes enough is enough.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Next on the hop is the scrapping queen herself Lauren. She is one fabulous scrapper!
