CASE-ing the Catty | CTC#476 | CASE the Sketch

Hello stamping friends. Thank you for joining me on my blog today. I hope that you've had a fantastic week and are having fabulous day!

Today I'm participating in a blog hop for the CASE-ing the Catty Design Team, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from  Rochelle Laird-Smith's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome.

We are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy And Selectively Edit. This week we are CASE-ing one of the samples on Pg. 68 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and using that sample for our challenge sketch.

I've used the sketch to create with the Country Flowers Stamp Set again, to create a floral border using the masking technique. Similar to this card HERE but more in line with our CASE-ing the Catty sketch. Same, same but different.

To create the floral border I first stamped the floral image on some of the fabulous Stampin' Up! Masking Paper, fussy cut that out, stamped the first image on Basic White Thick Cardstock, covered over the stamped image with the masked image and then stamped over that to create the continuous line of floral images. Repeat the masking and stamping till you have the desired amount of stamped images.

I've used Stampin' Blends to colour in the floral images. I like to use 3 Stampin' Blends to get more of a graduation of colour from dark to light but you can colour the images any which way you want.

Stampin' Blends Used
Flowers - Pretty in Pink Dark & Light, Petal Pink Light, Boho Blue Dark, Balmy Blue Dark & Light, Summer Splash Light, Pool Party Dark and Light, Lemon Lolly Dark
Leaves - Mossy Meadow Dark, Old Olive Dark & Light

In keeping with the sketch I've used a layering of the Country Woods DSP in the bottom part of the card and an embossed layer of Basic White using the Eyelet Embossing folder, placed behind the floral boarder.

I've finished the card of with some Linen Thread, an embossed Happy Birthday, and some of the Smoky Slate Pearls.

I hope that I've inspired you with my take on the sketch and the masked floral boarder. If you haven't tried the masking technique before give it a go as it created stunning creations.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team. I love how we all have the same sketch but we all end up with very different creations.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Peta Stephen with her take on the sketch.

CASE-ing the Catty | CTC#475 | Case Country Woods Suite pages 48-49

Hello there stamping friends! Thank you for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for the CASE-ing the Catty Design Team, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from Julia Quinn's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome.

We are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy And Selectively Edit. This week we are CASE-ing the Country Woods Suite on Pgs. 48 - 49 of the 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue.

I've made quite a few cards with this suite already. You can check them out HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. So with that I wanted to CASE some of the design elements in the gorgeous samples but with using a different bundle.

I really loved the little catalogue sample note cards that were stamped straight on the Country Woods DSP. So that is what I've done here today using the Layers of Beauty Bundle. The DSP almost gives the stamped image a textural look without adding more layers.

I've heat embossed the floral image using black embossing powder and then using the Layers of Beauty stencils added layers of colour. For the flowers I used Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop and Berry Burst and then for the leaves I used Summer Splash and Shy Shamrock.

Because the Layers of Beauty image is such a feature the card didn't need much else to finish it off just  some basic ribbon, trim, embellishments and sentiments.

I hope that I've inspired you with my CASE of the Country Woods Suite and the stamping straight on the DSP, which I don't do much of but I really like the look of.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Rochelle Laird-Smith with her amazing Country Woods CASE.

Global Design Project #450 | #GDP450 | Sketch Challenge

Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #450 | #GDP450 | Sketch Challenge.

I love the simplicity of the sketch and how much 'creative licence' it gives you. You can keep your creation fairly simple or go all out with a sketch like this. I think I've gone somewhere in between.

I've gone for a bit of a white on white card today with a little touch ogf neutrals. I do love a beautiful white card and I think the neutrals that I've paired with the white create a classic and classy look.

I've used the beautiful and intricate magnolia dies from the Magnolia Mood bundle to create a faux embossed look. This is where the same coloured die cuts are layered on the same colour cardstock to create an 'embossed' look. It looks like it's embossed but it's not. I've used for the very first time the Silver Enamel Effects and I love the gorgeous shinny metaillic affect they give. Watch this space to see some more Enamel Effects. They are a cost efffective way to add 'embellishments' to any project.

I've used the Country Woods DSP to add the banner element like as in the sketch and then I've finished the card off with some Baker's Twine, Black and Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon and the embossed Happy Birthday Sentiment.

I do hope that you've enjoyed my take on the GDP sketch and I hope you try the faux embossing technique, it really gives a beautiful look to any creation.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Fancy Friday | Annual Favs Challenge

Hello stamping friends! It's a new month its time for us to get our fancy on with the new Stampin' Fancy Friday Challenge. This month we are all about our New Annual catalogue Favs. The Design Team were to create a fancy project using any new Stampin' Up! products from the new 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue.

While I love just about everything in this new catalogue a real standout for me was the amazing Mediterranean Blooms DSP. The blue and white patterns on one side and then the Yellows, Oranges, and Greens on the other for a beautiful sun-soaked citrus and enchanting Mediterranean look.

Isn't it just stunning??!!

I've created a Fancy/Fun Fold card for you today with my adaptation of a Criss Cross Card. I followed this tutorial here for the basic design but changed it up a little to make it my own.

The base of the card is two cards adhered together in the middle and then the each side panel is diagonaly cut from corner to corner. These panels fold over each other thus creating the Criss Cross. These side panels can be glued together so that they make a pocket like card or left as is so that they can open to see the inside of the card.

I left the panels as is so that they can open once the belly band is taken off. I've created the base of the card with Basic White and then layered Night of Navy and one of the Mediterannean Blooms DSP patterns. In the centre I've added the beautiful foliage die cut from the Citrus Blooms Dies to add a bit of tone on tone interest and texture.

The belly band uses the same coordination of products but with the addition of some of the citrus designs from the Mediterannean Blooms DSP. These citrus colours create a beautiful contrast to the blue and white tones and add to the stunning look of this DSP. Some of the citrus designs are even large enough to fussy cut and can be used as an element on your projects.

Here I've layered various circle dies with the smaller of the foilage dies and that beautiful lemon imagery fron the Mediterannean Blooms DSP. The Blues and Yellows remind me a lot of the colours of my primary school uniform that was these colours but it didn't look nearly half as stunning as this DSP. Ha!

The belly band has been finished off with some Linen Thread, the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon, some Opal Rounds and a heat embossed sentiment from the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set.

I do hope you like my Fancy creation using one of my Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue Favourites and that I've given you some inspiration in using the Mediterannean Blooms DSP.

Check out the rest of the Annual Catalogue Favs and all the different creations that the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team has made on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram Account or on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Facebook page. This is where all their creations will be shared throughout the month, so make sure that you are following them to get all of the amazing ideas! You won't be short of inspiration!

CASE-ing the Catty | CTC#473 | Case a Bundle Pgs. 57 - 73

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. This week we are CASE-ing the Bundles found on Pgs. 57 - 73 of the 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue

My cards today are a combination of 3 different samples in the catalogue. I've taken inspiration from the square card and the landscape card above that use the Layers of Beauty Bundle.

I've also taken inspiration from the square card sample above that uses the Hearts & Hugs bundle. Put the elements from those three cards together and you get my cards for today's blog hop.

I've used the Layer's of Beauty Bundle for my 3 cards. I love that this bundle has stamps, dies and decorative masks that when all used together make beautiful creations. I've only used the stamps and decorative masks today for my cards.

I've used the decorative masks to colour in the floral image. I love colouring on Crumb Cake cardstock and I love how the Stampin' Up! Ink colours look so different when used on Crumb Cake Cardstock.

On all three cards I only used one colour of ink.  As I added each layer with the masks the inks grew darker thus creating the layers of shading. Some inks give a better effect than others.

Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock

Pretty in Pink Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock

Pool Party Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock

Each card has been layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock, Country Lace DSP and Basic Black Cardstock. I've used the Faux Stitching technique on them all by piercing holes in a line and then ruling over them using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. This then looks like you've added stitching but with about half the effort. Also with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker I've flicked some black ink splatters.

I've finished each card off with Black & Very Vanilla Large Check ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Embossed Happy Birthday Sentiment and some Opal Rounds.

I hope that I've inspired you with my take on CASE-ing the Bundles from the Annual Catalogue. Try an see how you can incorporate the samples in the catalogue into your projects. You'll be surprised at what you may be inspired by!

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Michelle Strazds with her CASE a Bundle creation. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.

Funky Folds Blog Hop #4

Hello stamping friends. Thank you for joining me on my blog today. Welcome to Funky Folds Blog Hop #4

We are a community for like minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky/fancy/fun folds and to share our ideas. Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way”. We are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait of landscape style cards.

Each and every month the blog hops will have and 'anything goes' theme as long as your card has some type of 'funky' fold.

I've made for you today a Gatefold Pop-Up Card card using some of the products from the Stampin' Up! Lily Pond Lane Suite found in the 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue. Thank you Claire at Created the Ottaway for your tutorial.

I was really taken by the Lily Pond Lane 6" x 6" DSP and that is the main focus of my card. I really love the floral images and patterns of the DSP rather than the ducks and fish images. I do think the ducks, fish and frogs are cute but I really love the flowers and patterns on the DSP a little bit more.

I've used the colours from the DSP as my colour combo for my card - Pretty Peacock, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, and Basic White. The outside I've layered Pretty in Pink and one of the DSP sheets on a Pretty Peacock card base. On that I've made a belly band to hold the card closed and layered Lily Pond Lane DSP, cardstock, die-cuts, ribbon and trim, and the Happy Birthday embossed sentiment.

The inside of the card is more of the same of layering of cardstock and DSP for a coordinated look but a change up of the DSP images and patterns. While the card is quite busy on the inside I love the mix of the different images and patterns. I love how by changing up the DSP from the front to the inside creates a whole different look. The front to the inside almost look like two different cards. The Pretty Peacock was the more dominant colour on the front where as on the inside Pretty in Pink and Peach Pie are the more dominant colours.

When the card is opened the centre panels pop out creating the pop up effect. To write a message on the card there is a panel on the back with room for you to write something special.

I do hope you like my Funky Fold that I've shared with you today. I really enjoy making these Funky Folds and creating something a little different to a standard card.

Next up is Chantell Randall from Western Australia, with her Funky Fold. I can't wait to see what she has made for us.

If you love to make cards with creative folds and would like to join in with our monthly Funky Folds Blog Hop, you are welcome to head on over to our community group on Facebook HERE to be part of the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
