Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Instagram Tip | Colouring with Stampin' Blends on Coloured Cardstock

I've got a quick and fun tip for you today. Do you sometimes want more out of your Stampin’ Blends? Why not use them on colored cardstock? Coloring with Stampin’ Blends on colored cardstock gives each color a different look and feel. It’s one of my most favorite coloring methods.

Step 1. Simply stamp your image on coloured cardstock with Memento Black Ink.

Step 2. Choose your favourite Stampin' Blends colours to colour your image in.

Step 3. Once you have coloured in your image, finish off your card with a sentiment, favourite ribbon, trim and embellishements.

When colouring with blends on coloured cardstock, the lighter cardstock colours like Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Smoky Slate work the best. Can't wait to see your cards when you give it a go.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Posted for You Bundle

Hello Stamping Friends! Welcome to our very last 2020 Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for December and for the year. I can't believe we are at our last post already! Just feels like yesterday when the 2020 Artisan Team was announced. Queue all the tears and all the feels!

It feels just like yesterday when this amazing journey began. While this year has been completely crazy and downright unbelievable and unprecedented, I have truly loved every minute of it and still can't believe that I was givne this opportunity of a lifetime to represent Stampin' Up! on the ADT for a third time. I am so very grateful for everything that this team has brought. Also a big thank you to all of you who have supported me along the way!

Today we have projects for you using the Posted for You Bundle, found in the Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue. This bundle includes the Posted for You Cling Stamp Set and the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch.

Create postcards and greeting cards for almost any occasion with the delicate line-art and the postage stamp-sized images in the Posted for You Stamp Set. The Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch creates fun postage stamp shapes and the some of the images from the Posted for You Stamp Set fit in this fantastic postage stamp-sized shape.

I have two projects for you today using the Posted for You Bundle. I've gone for a tone on tone look with the Square Vellum Doilies over Shimmery White Cardstock and then a little bit of colour with colouring the floral images with Rococo Rose Ink.

I stamped the floral images with Jet Black Stazon Ink on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I stamped the flowers on the paper with my Stamparatus just so that I could repeat stamp the image incase there was a problem the first time stamping. Sometime when stamping on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper you don't always get a crisp, clear image, due to the texture of the paper, so the Stamparatus makes it super easy to stamp again without having to line everything up again.

The flowers were coloured with Rococo Rose Ink using a Water Painter and then I coloured the leaves with Just Jade Ink. Once the images were dry I fussy cut them out using my Paper Snips and then layered them in a cluster to the left and right of the Happy Birthday sentiment.

My second card uses all the same elements, but layered differently on the front of the card and in the Landscape direction as opposed to my first card in the Portrait direction.  I do tend to make most of my cards in  the Portrait orientation so it's nice to change it up a bit for a different look.

I used the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch as one of the elements in my layering as opposed to stamping one of the images from the Posted for You Stamp Set and then punching that out. I punched out the Rectangular Postage Stamp in Shimmery White Cardstock and then layered a piece of the Shimmery White over the punched out piece for that extra finesse and layering. That little bit of layering on the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch combined with the all the other layering and elements really adds that refinement to the proejcts.

To finish off both cards I layered the 'postmark' that I embossed with Gold Stampin Emboss Powder on Vellum and then layered the Happy Birthday over top. I also used Linen Thread. Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon and Pearl Basic Jewels to bring that whole refined look together.

This really is such a versatile bundle and from all the projects from the rest of the team shows that this bundle can be used for nearly every occasion.

Now on to the Artisan Design Team for 2021. This is such an amazing team from all over the world that, I have not doubt, will inspire you with their projects.  Make sure you visit their Blogs/Instagram/Facebook/Pinterest and follow them! Just Add Ink #535 | Just Add Magical Creatures

Hello there stamping friends. Welcome and thanks for joining me today. I hope you are having a fabulous day! Happy Friday! Just in time to start the weekend to to share with you all the new challenge over at Just Add Ink.

Today is a fun challenge for you today Just Add Magical Creatures. It could be elves, gnomes, dragons, fairies, unicorns, monsters, maybe Santa even. I've used the super cute Stampin' Up! stamp set Gnome for the Holidays and added some colour to these fun gnomes with some Alcohol Markers.

I've started the card with a Shimmery White card base, added two layers of the Shimmery White and then the top layer I've embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is so gorgeous and gives a beautiful imprint of the stunning snowflakes. Embossing on the Shimmery White gives more of a subtle look as opposed to embossing on a coloured cardstock.

I've coloured with traditional Reds and Greens for my gnomes but you can colour them up to how you want and whatever colours you prefer. I've kept my card fairly clean and simple today. I think because the colours of the gnomes are so bright and fun and they really don't need much else to go with them. How cute are they?

I've heat embossed the sentiment on Basic Black cardstock and then finished off the card with White Bakers Twine and the Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes. Cute!

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration for this week's fun Magical Creatures theme. Please head on over to the Just Add Ink Blog to see all the variety in the JAI Design Teams Projects and then come and join in the fun of this week's challenge. Can't wait to see what you create.

Thank so much for stopping by!

Colour Inkspiration Challlenge #91 | Stampin' Up! Peace & Joy

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome! Today I have been asked to be the guest designer for the Colour INKspiration Challenge #91. Today there is a whole range of colours to choose from, where we have to choose at least 3, as our colour combo.

From the colours in the inspiration I was going to use only three but couldn't narrow down only three, but I've actually used 4 - Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, Magenta Madness and Silver Glitter. And to keep in the theme of the inspiration picture I've gone with a Christmas Card.

Because I've used very non-traditional and very bright colours for a Christmas Card I thought it was only fitting to use the 'Bright' from the Joy Dies to go with my Bright Christmas Card colours.

I've started my card with a Whisper White Base and then use the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper with the Flocked Holly Design as the to go over my base layer. The flocking on the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper gives the project that extra layer and texture without adding more colour. And for my project today that already has lots of colour I did not need to be adding more. I love the subtleness of the flocked Holly Design against the bright and bold colours and the Holly Design ties in with the Holly Leaves used from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set.

I layered pieces of Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, Magenta Madness and Silver Glimmer Paper (Retired) over a piece of cardstock and then die cut it with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. My strips of cardstock are 5mm in width, but you can make them as wide as you want them to be.

Next over the stripes of cardstock I've layered the 'Bright' Die that I've die cut with Vellum, Whisper White and then on top Magenta Madness. The 'Merry', 'And', and 'Christmas' I stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink and then cut with my Paper Trimmer.

I've then finished the card off with some Whisper White Polka Tulle Ribbon, White Bakers Twine, some Holly Leaves stamped in Bermuda Bay and then fussy cut with Paper Snips and some Magenta Madness Enamel Dots for the Holly Berries.

While I do love traditional Christmas Colours when making my Christmas Cards, the bright and fun colours really give almost a summery look which is perfect for the Christmas Season here in Australia.

I do hope that you enjoy my project today and my take on all those fun colours in the original inspiration. To see the rest of the amazing creations from the Colour Inkspiration Design Team, check them out HERE and then come and join in the fun!

Global Design Project #270 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project 270 |  #GDP270 with my project for you today. I usually check out the challenge over at GDP each and every week, but I don't always have the time to join in and play along.

Seeing as this week is a sketch challenge, I couldn't resist and just had to join in. If you've been following me for a while now you'll know that I just love a sketch challenge.

I've used the Stampin' Up! Poinsettia Petals stamp set for a little bit of the colouring technique that's called 'No-Line' Watercolouring. I had seen a few other projects using this stamp set and the 'No-Line' Watercolouring and I just had to try it for myself.

To begin this colouring technique, ink up your image in Sahara Sand Ink, stamp off the inked up image once and then restamp again on your Water Colour Paper. This will leave you with the a faint outline of your image to colour in. Check out my post HERE that shows you how to get the faint, stamped off outline of your image.

Next is the fun part, the adding the colour! To color the image, put a drop of ink in the lid of the ink pad, mix in a drop or two of water, then pick up the color from the lid using a Water Painter.

When colouring with this technique I usually colour every second part of the image, let that all dry and then go around again and colour in all the other leaves. If you try to color all the petals at once—all right next to each other—the petals will bleed into each other and you may end up with a “hot mess.” Trust me, I know! Ha! I've learnt the hard way!

Once all the Poinsettias were coloured, I die cut them out and then put together my card. Because the Poinsettias are so bright I wanted to keep the base layers white and then add some of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper to add some beautiful texture without adding more colour.

I added some Linen Thread and a die cut piece of the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. The Real Red of the Poinsettias and the Garden Green give a beautiful contrast and really give you the traditional Christmas look with the traditional 'Red' and 'Green' Christmas colours.

I finished the card off with the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set, some of the beautiful Beaded Pearls, some of the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Paper and some of the Pearl Basic Jewels.

I am so loving how the Poinsettias turned out with the 'No-Line' colouring technique. I might have to try it again for another Christmas Project.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
