Just Add Ink #634 | Just Add Anything But a Card Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #634 | Just Add Anything But a Card Challenge

I love this weeks challenge. It has gotten me thinking about making things other than cards and gettting me to rememeber how much I love making 3-D items, which I haven't done much at all this year.

I've gone with some super quick and super easy Origami Boxes. Perfect for that last minute gift that needs some quick and cute gift packaging. These boxes use one sheet of 12" x 12" paper and when they are all folded together you don't need any adhesive to hold them together, but you can if you want to.

I have made these before a few years ago but thought it was great to revisit them. To see how to make them follow this You Tube tutorial. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy these boxes are! And you don't have to use a full 12"x12" sheet. You just have to make sure that your starting piece of paper is square. Just bare in mind that the smaller the paper you start with the smaller your box will be. Perfect to customise for any gift.

I've used the Santa Express 12" x 12" DSP for the Boxes and the belly bands and then used some coordinating cardstock to finish off the belly band.

The tags are die cut using the Seasonal Labels Dies and embossed with a retired Stampin' Up! Embossing Folder #useyourstash and the Merry Christmas is cut from the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set.

All finished off with some retired white ribbon and some linen thread. I think with this bright, fun and busy DSP less is more for a clean and classic look.

Why not give these boxes a go? They are the perfect way to use some of that DSP that you have collected (hoarded) in your crafting stash.

There are lots of fantastic creations from the JAI team this week and they aren't all 3-D items so there will be lots of inspiration for our Anything But a Card Challenge. Go to the JAI blog to be inspired and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what you create this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Fancy Friday | #useyourstash Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome, welcome! It's so good to have you here. I have a project for you for the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team. This month our theme is to use whatever you have in your crafting stash (aka. collection) #useyourstash .

Our project could use new products, could be from an old favorite that you kept, or could be from some product that you hoarded and wanted to finally use.

I went for a Christmas card for this challenge and I combined the current Christmas Season Stamp set with the retired Merry Christmas to All Stamp Set (from around 2018/2019). The Christmas Season Stamp Set was very new to my collection when I made this card so I really wanted to use that and then I looked through my stash to see what would pair well together with the images from that stamp set.

The Designer Series Paper is the Wonder of the Season Specialty Designer Series Paper. I searched through my scraps of DSP and this just jumped right out at me. I loved it when it was current in 2020 and still love it now. There is something about gold foil typeset paper that really gives a special look to any card.

I found some fun ribbon, trim and embellishments that had been stored away in my stash to finish off my card. I could have used heaps of other products with what I had already used but there is only so much product you can put on a card before it becomes OTT.

Check out the rest of the #useyourstash creations that the Stampin' Fancy Friday Design Team has made on the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram Account. This is where all their creations will be shared throughout the month, so make sure that you are following them to get all of the amazing ideas!

Want to join the fancy fun? Grab your stamping supplies, create a project based on the #useyourstash challenge and then post it on Instagram or Facebook. Tag us or use #stampinfancyfriday when you share so we can 😍 at your project and share in our stories. Can't wait to see how this challenge inspires you!

Just Add Ink #632 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fun Just Choose Two Challenge for you from JustAdd Ink team member Di.

This week's Just Choose Two challenge is a super fun one and really lends itself to getting festive with Deers, Trees and Sparkle. I chose deers and sparkle but couldn't help myself to using trees as well.

I've used the Peaceful Deer stamp set which is found in the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I've gine for a Sahara Sand, Balmy Blue Basic White and Black & White colour combo for my Christmas card today.

Combined with the Peaceful Deer stamp set I've pulled out some retired Stampin' Up! products to acheive the fun and festive look to my Christmas card. Check the products used list at the bottom of the post to see all products used.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Just Add Ink #631 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #631 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fun sketch for you suggested to us by fellow JAI Design Team Member, Tina.

I usually like lots of straight lines on my cards, so the wavy elements really had me thinking as to how I was going to incorporate them onto my project this week. It's not called a challenge for nothing.

I've made a snowflake Christmas card for you today and I've use the wavy design on the sketch to determine where to place the snowflakes on the card. While we don't have usually have snow here in Melbourne at Christmas time due to it being our summer but with the way that the weather has been going of late it really wouldn't surprise me if we did. It has been so cold of late and I have really been feeling the cold winter vibe.

I've gone for a Mint Macaron card base today with layers of Mint Macaron ink around the edges, splattes of Mint Macaron from a Stampin' Write Marker and then the coordinating Mint Macaron SnowFlakes. I do love a tone on tone look for colour coordination.

To add some more dimension to the card without adding more layers, I've also added some Whisper White Craft Ink splatters to add to the snow look of the card.

I've also added a small piece of the Texture Chic DSP, some retired Ribbon and Trim, a label and sentiment from the Christmas To Remember Stamp set and the coordinating Seasonal Label Dies.

A CAS card that is easy to replicate en masse if you needed to make a lot of Christams cards in a hurry. Easy to change up the colours too.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Just Add Ink #630 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous inspiration picture challenge - Just Add Ink #630 | Inspiration Picture Challenge.

The inspiration picture has a lot of red with lots of different images combined into one so there is definitely a lot that will inspire you. I'm loving the country vibe that comes from this weeks inspiration pic. The thing that really caught my eye in the image was all the gingham. Gingham is so on trend right now and I'm loving it.

So with that I really wanted to feature gingham in my card today but I only had the black and white gingham from the retired Pattern Party DSP pack #UseYourStash . Black and white is such a classic look and really makes for a classy creation.

I started the card off some Basic White Layers and embossed  the layer with another retired product - Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I'm really loving and getting into at the moment mixing retired products with current products for a fun look. I think with the current economic environment where people can't always by all the new products, it's great to show people that you don't always have to have the newest products to make gorgeous progects - hence the hashtag #UseYourStash .

Over the Basic White and gingham layers I've lightly splattered the Real Red Stampin' Write Maker for an added 'layer' and then combined layers of ribbon, die cuts, twine, embellishments and card stock for a Christmas Wreath. With all that red and green in the inspiration picute how could you not make a Christmas card.

Here's a fun tip. Don't have a coloured embellishment to coordinate with your project? Get some Basic Pearls or some Iridescent Pearls and colour over them with a Stampin' Blend Alcohol Marker. You'll always have the right colour embellishment!

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Just Add Ink #629 | Just Add Wings Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are 'Just Adding Wings' - Just Add Ink #629 | Just Add Wings Challenge - suggested by fellow JAI team member Jo Stubbings.

So anything that has wings you can use for this challenge. Birds, butterflies, fairies, insects, planes. Whatever winged thing you have in your crafting stash to help you with this challenge.

I'm using the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp and the Brilliant Wings Dies from the Stampin' Up! 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalogue. These products have been around for a little while now. I've used the dies before but this is the first time that I've used the stamp.

I've gone for a tone-on-tone look by stamping Balmy Blue ink on Balmy Blue cardstock. I then used a Blending Brush to add some Balmy Blue ink around the edges. You may notice that there is a slight puple tone around the edges too. This happened when I was using the blending brush to add the ink around the edges and there was Blackberry Bliss ink on my grid paper underneath from a previous ink blending session. As I kept adding the Balmy Blue ink the blending brush picked up some of the Blackberry Bliss ink as well for a gorgeous purple/blue ink blended edge. So note to self - make sure you use a fresh grid paper sheet when ink blending so as to not pick up any unwanted ink.

Over the stamping and inked edges I added some white splatters using some watered down White Craft ink and a Water Painter.

For the butterfly die, I die cut four of the butterflies in Basic White and then glued them together to create some added dimension. The butterfly then pops off the card for for a fun look. I've layered the white butterfly with some Vellum underneathe and then a Night of Navy embossed Happy Birthday sentiment.

I've then embellished the card with some Natural Finish Ribbon (cut in half), Linen Thread and some of the Blue For Everything Fancy Sequins.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'Wings' elements the JAI Design Team used. Cant' wait to see what your project will be!

Just Add Ink #628 | Colour Challenge

Hello, Hello.  It's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #628 |Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by fellow JAI Design Team Member - Annie. This week we are using Petal Pink, Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss.

This weeks colours make for a gorgeous colour combination and I don't think they necessarily scream flowers and florals but I was drawn to using the Stampin' Up! Abigail Rose Suite/Cottage Rose Stamp Set to use with this weeks colours.

I've gone for a pretty Petal Pink card and then used the brighter and darker colours as accents to go with the Petal Pink card base. I"m loving the little touches of Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss. As they are strong, bold colours you really don't need a lot of it with the Petal Pink.

I've kept the card CAS today and then accented and embellished it with Petal Pink ink splaters (using the Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker), Basic Pearls, Abigail Rose DSP, Natural Finish Ribbon and Linen Thread.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you their take on this weeks challenge colours. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. There is something for everyone. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your take on the colour challenge.

Just Add Ink #618 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! It's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #618 | Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by fellow JAI Design Team Member - Jo. This week its a fantstic colour challenge using Crumb Cake, Pacific Point and Old Olive.

While I know that these colours don't scream Christmas, I've gone for a CAS (clean and simple) Christmas card using the Stampin' Up! Storybook Gnomes Suite with the focus on using the super cute Gnomes Dies.

I'm lovng these Gnomes dies and I can see me using them in a while variety of different colours! How gorgeous are all the added details in each die cut like the embossing and stitching. Those details really help those dies come to 'life'.

While I normally wouldn't put these colours together I love how they look with the Gnomes. To finish the card off  I layered some strips of cardstock and DSP with the White Baker's Twine and then added and White Embossed Sentiment on Basic Black cardstock.

Just Add Ink #616 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge | JAI #616. This week we have a fun sketch for you suggested to us by fellow JAI Design Team Member, Narelle Farrugia.

It's a basic sketch design but has a lot of scope for you to make this sketch your own.

I've used this sketch to have a play with the super cute Stampin' Up! Tree Lot Dies. These dies are a current Sale-a-bration item. Meaning spend $180 (not including P & H) on Stampin' Up! products and you can get these gorgeous dies for FREE. Also these fabulous dies co-ordinate with the Trees for Sale stamp set from the July - December 2022 Mini Catalogue. I've just used these dies on their own today without the stamp set.

I've kept my card base layers very CAS today with layers of Basic White Cardstock and then used pops of colour in the die cut pieces to create the super cute little camping Christmas scene. I love that the caravan is combined with Christmas elements. It really resonates with me as most Christmas holidays, even sometimes a few days before Christams my family and I are out camping somewhere in our caravan enjoying the summertime sun.

I've used Pool Party and Basic White cardstock for the caravan, Garden Green and Real Red for the wreath, bunting and trees and then Daffodil Delight for the little stars on top of the tree. The Merry Christmas comes from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set and then I've finished the card off with some Linen Thread and the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Just Add Ink #612 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello there my craft friends! Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic Just Chose Two Challenge, chosen by Just Add Ink team member Kim Badelt - Just Add Ink #612 | Just Choose Two Challenge.

This week's Just Choose Two challenge is a real mixed bag with us choosing from Fur, Clouds or Stitching. I love anything to do with stitching on cards, faux or real, so that was a no brainer for me and then my most recent Stampin' Up! order with the new Storybook Gnome DSP helped me to choose fur with the gorgeous images of the woodland animals.

I've kept the card fairly CAS (Clean and Simple). I'm really loving clean lines and clean cards at the moment. There is beauty in the simplicity of the card and to sometimes pull back from all the 'fluff and stuff' really lets the products shine and in this case lets the DSP shine.

I've started the card with some Basic White layers and then used the pattern from the Storybook Gnome DSP that looks like a knitted jumper or cross stitch/embroidery. This was another element, along with the Stitched Rectangles, to add to my 'stitched' element. Well, I think it looks like it has stitching on it so that is all that matters.

This is the super cute Stampin' Up! Storybook Gnome DSP. If you could only pick one thing from this suite then this DSP would be it. There is so much you can do with it and the artwork in this DSP is fantastic.

The animals for my fur element were fussy cut from this sheet of the DSP. Just cut them out and them add them to your card and you have a quick and simple card done in no time. Aren't these animals just super cute?

I've really kept my embellishments on this card super simple with some Balmy Blue & White Double-Stitched Ribbon (another stitched element) and some Linen Thread. If you were to recreate this card then you could keep it CAS like what I did or really step it up. It all comes down to personal choice.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.
