Just Add Ink #581 | Just Add Legs Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are 'Just Adding Legs' - Just Add Ink #581| Just Add Legs Challenge - suggested by fellow Just Add Ink team member Lou Kitzelman. How fun!

Yep, so anything that has legs you can use for this challenge. You are only limited by your imagination and your crafting supplies.

I'm using the Stampin' Up! Be Jolly stamp set for a super cute and super fun Christmas card. How cute is Santa with his short little legs and his big round belly?

I started my card today with some layers of Shimmery White cardstock and then I heat embossed the snow flurry image from the Stampin' up! Peaceful Deer stamp set. I repeat stamped this image on the card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then using the fabulous Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes I blended some Pool Party Ink over the embossing for an emboss resist look.

I've coloured in my images today using a mix of Copic Alcohol Markers and Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. I really love how the colouring turned out with these images and keeping to some traditional Christmas colours really adds to the festive feel of the card.

I've finished off the card today with my favourite trim - Linen Thread and some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels. Becuase the colours are bright and bold I really though that the card didn't need much trim and embellishment so really kept that all farily simple and basic.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'legs' elements the JAI Design Team used. I love the out of the box thinking that the DT memebers used for their projects this week. Cant' wait to see what your project will be!

TGIF Challenges | #TGIF342 Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | #TGIF342 Sketch Challenge. I always love a sketch challenge and they really help to get the creative ideas flowing. Pick a stamp set or some Designer Series Paper and use the sketch to get your creativity going.

Don't you just love this sketch from TGIF??!! It has a basic design element and then it gives you so much room to do what you feel lead to create. And as I was lead I used my creative license to change it up a little while still holding the basic design elements. And yes again, I'm using the Words of Cheer Bundle. I've really loved this bundle and have had so many creative ideas when using this bundle. To see my other projects using these products check them out HERE, HERE and HERE. I'm using a colour combo I used a couple of months ago again becuase I loved it so much - Soft Succulent, Polished Pink and Gold.

Instead of having an acutal circle on my card as per the sketch I've used he floral image from the Words of Cheer stamp set as my 'circle' element. I've stamped the floral image on Crumb Cake cardstock, heat embossed it with White Embossing powder and then coloured on the Crumb Cake Cardstock.

I just love to colour on coloured cardstock but sometimes when you try to do this with the ink colour straight onto the cardstock the ink colour changes and even gets a little lost into the cardstock background. The best way to colour onto coloured cardstock is to cover your image first with a Whisper White Craft Ink 'undercoat' layer and then add your chosen colour over top. Check out my Instagram Step-By-Step Tip I did a few years ago HERE on how you can achieve this different look.

I've used a combo of Linen Thread and the Gold Metallic Thread from the Retired Forever Greenery Ribbon Combo Pack for the trim across the card and then layered the 'Happy' from the Christmas Cheer Dies over top of that. I've die cut the 'Happy' with Vellum and Soft Succulent Cardstock.

I've then finished the card off with the floral dies from the Christmas Cheer Dies, using Soft Succulent, Polished Pink Cardstock and Gold from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. In the die cut flowers I've added 2021 - 2023 In Color Jewels for that extra touch of bling and then layered the heat embossed Christmas over the 'Happy' die cuts.

I just love how this turned out and the colouring on the coloured cardstock. If you haven't tried colouring on coloured cardstock before give it a go, you'll love the results.

Just Add Ink #580 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #580 | Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by me. I saw these colours on Pinterest on a wedding/bridesmaid 'mood board' and thought they would be fabulous for a Just Add Ink colour challenge.

I just love the richness of the Evening Evergreen and then paired with the Blushing Brde and Gold makes for a stunning colour combination. Don't you think?

I've use the colours today for a Christmas Card using some never used before (by me) Stampin' Up! products - Festive Foliage Cling Stamp Set and the Bright Baubles Bundle.

I've started with the Evening Evergreen colour as my base layer and used some tone on tone stamping and ink blending to create a rich and almost regal looking base layer. I stamped the Festive Foliage stamp onto the Evening Evergreen cardstock with Evening Evergreen Classic Ink and then using a blending brush added some Evening Evergreen Classic Ink to the edges of the cardstock to create a deep and rich Evening Evergreen look. If you are recreating this at home you can make the colour as rich and intense as you like. The more ink you add the darker the look will become.

Over the base layer stamping and ink blending I splattered some droplets of water over the cardstock and then added flicks of gold embossing. The water lifts some of the ink colour so you get some lighter tones where the water lands and then the gold embossed splatters almost have the look of snow (even though we don't get snow here in Melbourne at Christmas time) to add to the Christmas look and feel of the card.

I've layered some of the dies from the Delicate Bauble Dies as the main 'centre piece' of my card. These gorgeous dies are stunning and you really don't need much else to go with them when using these on any project. They are a real statement on their own. The base layer of the bauble I've die cut using Blushing Bride and overlayed the intricate die cut, cut out of the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper.

It's all finished off with some Gold Embossed sentiments from the Bright Baubles Stamp Set, Linen Thread, Gold Metallic Thread (Retired) and Gilded Gems.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with this weeks challenge colours. Come and check out the rest of the amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team using these gorgeous colours at the JAI Blog. There is lots to see from the team this week. We hope that you will join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your fantastic projects for this weeks challenge.

Just Add Ink #579 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic Just Chose Two Challenge, chosen by Just Add Ink team member Jan McQueen - Just Add Ink #579 | Just Choose Two Challenge.

I haven't participated in a Just Choose Two challenge for a while so it's a nice change up in the schedule to do something different. This week its all about Foil, Glimmer and Shimmer. So all things sparkly and all things bling. I've gone with glimmer and shimmer but really all three elements can be interwined into one.

I've gone for a Christmas card using the Stampin' Up! Words of Cheer Bundle (yes, again). I love this bundle and I love to spend time to colour in the fabulous images. If you haven't seen my other projects using this bundle, check them out HERE and HERE.

It may be hard to see but I started this card with an Evening Evergreen base and then I've layered on that Basic White cardstock and the fabulous black and white stripe DSP from the Pattern Party DSP pack. I love that the black and white stripes can be used for any occasion or to celebrate any holiday. It just goes with everything.

My first element of glimmer and shimmer was to emboss a 'frame' on the DSP with Gold embossing powder. To do this I put a dot of the Versamark Ink refill on a clear stamping block and picked up some of the ink refil with the end of a Blender Pen. Using a ruler I then 'ruled' the Blender Pen with the ink refill on the end to rule the straight line. Once the line was done I then covered it with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it. So that's a fun little tip for you if you are ever wanting to get embossed lines on your projects. Its super easy to do and makes for a gorgeous look.

Using the floral image from the Words of Cheer stamp set. I heat embossed it with Black embossing powder on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. Then using a Water Painter, coloured the image in using Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Once the coloured image was all dry I added my next Glimmer and Shimmer element by painting the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the image for a gorgeous subtle shimmer. It's really hard to photograph the stunning glittery effect that the Wink of Stella gives but it looks so beautiful when all those little bits of glitter catch the light. It really adds to the festive feel of the card.

To finish the card off with my last bits of glimmer and shimmer I used the Gold Metallic Specialty paper to die cut the word 'Happy' from the Christmas Cheer Dies, added some of the Gilded Gems and tied a piece of the retired Gold Metallic Thread on the 'H'. It had ideas to add more glimmer and shimmer elements but thought that what I had added was just enough. Less is more sometimes.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'shiny' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.
