ESAD Farewell Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello stamping friends. Welcome to this ESAD Blog Hop to farewell some of our favourite retiring products from the Stampin' Up! 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue. Some of our favourite products from this past years annual catalogue are coming to an end so some of the demonstrators in the ESAD facebook group thought it would be a great idea to give these products a final send off.

There are some amazing products that are retiring and this blog hop may give you some more ideas to use these products for much longer in the future. Or this bog hop may finally inspire you to purchase these products before they are gone.

There are so many amazing retiring products to highlight and its hard to choose just one but I thought I would give one of my most favourite stamp sets one last hurrah, Good Morning Magnolia.

I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it when it was released a few years ago and this will also be one that I will hold onto for a long time to come. I've used this stamp set with Stampin' Blends and watercolouring in the past but today I decided to colour the big Magnolia image with the Stampin' Up! Watercolour Pencils but to use them just like a normal colouring pencil.

I've kept my cards quite simple today as I wanted the magnolia image to be the main focal point. I've also combined on each card some of the other retiring products that have been some of my most favourite - Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon and the Braided Linen Trim.

With both of my cards I've layered different pencil colours to get a different look and a bit more depth of colour. Once each stamped panel was coloured I then embossed it with the Subtle 3d Embossing Folder to give it a more textured look.

Just Add Ink #551 | Just Add 3D Challenge

Hello there stamping friends. I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous Friday. Because it's Friday, that means that is time for another Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add Ink #551 | Just Add 3D Challenge.

This week we are all about the 3D projects. I don't normally make the 3D projects so it was fun this week to do something out of the norm. I started by consulting my favourite place for 3D tutorials, Splitcoast Stampers, and came across a tutorial for a Slider Box. I hadn't made one of these before so I thought it would be fun to give it a go.

When the box is all closed and embellished it looks like a normal gift box....

But once you pull the ribbon tab on the side to pull out the box a hidden message card pops out to the left at the same time with enough room on it for you to write a simple greeting. Super cute and super fun!

I made the actual box part and the slider mechanisim with Basic White Cardstock and then I've the gorgeous products from the new Pansy Petal Suite that features in the new Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue, that go live for customers to purchase from on 4th May 2021.

How gorgeous are the DSP patterns in the new Pansy Petals DSP? And with the gorgeous Pansy Dies to finish off the box you really don't need much else to embellish it as they are a statement on their own.

I've finished off the box with a square vellum doily, Linen Thread, White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and the gorgeous 2021 - 2023 In Color Jewels.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration for this week's 3D theme. Please head on over to the Just Add Ink Blog to see all the variety in the JAI Design Teams Projects and then come and join in the fun of this week's Just Add 3D challenge. Can't wait to see what you create.

Just Add Ink #549 | Just Choose Two

Hello stamping friends. Welcome to the newest challenge for Just Add Ink. We have a Just Choose Two Challenge which are super fun! I haven't done a Just Choose Two for a while so it's nice to have a change up in the challenge schedule.

If you've not seen our Just Choose Two Challenges they are super fun and offer a whole range of inspiration to get creative. How they work are is that we suggest 3 different elements that we want to see in in your challenge project and then you choose two of them to work with. It's as simple as that!

With the choices on offer this week Feathers - Leaves - Petals, I've gone for Leaves and Petals, but if you've been following me for a while you would know that leaves and petals was a bit of a given. I can't resist creating with anything floral.

I'm using the True Love 12" X 12" DSP again and some coloured flowers that you may have seen before. I made a card with these coloured flowers way back in January (you can see it HERE) and I had some of the flowers left over to use for another day. And today was just that day!

I coloured the flowers in using Copic Markers and used a flicking technique rather than blending each colour. Hold your marker right near the nib and gently and quickly flick the marker away from you to make 'streaks' of colour. I like to start with the darkest colour and then graduate to the lightest. I love the 'streaky' effect and the look of texture that this Flicking Technique gives. Gorgeous!

 Copics Used

Pink Flowers - R85, R83, R81
Purple Flowers - BV04, BV02, BV00
Leaves - G99, G94, G21

I've layered Shimmery White, Basic Black and some of the True Love DSP for the base layers of the card and then added an embossed Basic Black panel embossed with my favourite embossing folder, Subtle 3D (super sad that is retiring 😭). I've then finished off the card with the Elegant Faceted Gems, Gold Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and the Happy Birthday from the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you choose.
