Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Pick a Bundle

Hello there papercraft and stamping friends! Welcome to this months Fancy Friday Blog Hop. This months challenge is to use one of the many fabulous bundles offered in the Annual Catalogue! Returned or new, with a punch or framelits, just as long as it's a co-ordinated bundle.

If you've not see us before, the Fancy Friday team are past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Members. We still love creating and blogging and sharing what we love, so we have a blog hop once a month with everything fun and fancy.

The Botanical Bliss Bundle just screams gorgeous, pretty, fun and also versatile. All the things I love in a bundle. The Botanical Tags Thinlits Dies create great die-cut botanical tags in record time using the Big Shot. The medallion and flower dies also have Edgelits that can separate the die image to be used as a separate piece on a project. The Edgelits were designed to be longer than the tag piece to ensure the image is cut completely.

Instead of using the dies for tags I've used them to create elements for two cards and also incorporated some of the images from the stamp set. Check out the tag I made a while back, here using the Botanical Bliss Bundle.

For the first card I die cut a piece using the largest die from the Stitched Labels Thinlits Dies and Gray Granite Cardstock and used it as the main focal piece for the card. Under the die I stamped the branch image also in Gray Granite and stamped off the 'Friends' a few times to get the variation in colour. I've then layered some ribbon, trim, die cut pieces and stamped images on the card to pull together the look. Have you spotted the sneak peek products from the new 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue? Fabulous for every occasion not just the Christmas Season.

While the second card looks completely different to the first one, they were created in a similar way with both cards having that main focal point, layers of ribbon, trim, die cut pieces, stamped images from the stamp set and stamped off sentiments. How gorgeous is that Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon and the Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper! Just STUNNING!!!!

The Shimmery White background makes the perfect layer for all the different elements to shine. Really gives the cards the fresh, crisp feel.

Now on to Shannon Lane in Canada for her fun and Fancy Friday Bundle.

Global Design Project #152 | CASE the Designer Janneke de Jong

Hello there fellow crafters and stampers! Welcome to my papercrafting blog where I share my creations using Stampin' Up! products.

I literally received a box of new goodies this afternoon and had to break them out and create with them like NOW! So I decided to play along with the Case the Designer Challenge over at the Global Design Project | #GDP152, CASEing designer Janneke de Jong.

If you haven't heard of the term CASE before in the crafting and papercraft world, CASE means to Copy And Selectively Edit. When CASEing a project take what you like from the design and make it your own. As with Janneke's creation I really loved her use of the purples, the large Stitched Labels die and the leaves and flowers that she used and that is where I started my card for today.

A majority of the products that I received in my delivery today came from the Frosted Floral Suite in the new 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue, starting 5th September. And I just had to rip open the absolutely stunning Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper. Oh me, oh my Stampin' Up! have given us another out of this world DSP in the Holiday Catalogue!!

To keep with the purples in Janneke's card I used the Blackberry Bliss sheet from the Frosted Florals DSP. In the photos here the DSP almost looks grainy, and it's not, but each sheet has a beautiful, sparkly shimmer to it. Super gorgeous and amazingly pretty! I've layered the Blackberry Bliss sheet on some Soft Suede Cardstock.

How soft and pretty does the Tranquil Tide 1/4" Ribbon look? Such an on trend colour at the moment and the velvet is so on trend with the luxe factor that you see everywhere. I really love the Tranquil Tide with the Blackberry Bliss. Gorgeous colour combo!

The Stitched Label Dies from the Stampin' Up! 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalogue just go with everything and really make an accent piece to any creation! That big die piece looks amazing in any colour but I've just used Shimmery White to keep with the shimmery look of the DSP. I do hope that these dies stay around for a long time!

To accent with the Blackberry Bliss, I teamed up the DSP with some Mint Macaron and Vellum die cut foliage from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies and the Blushing Bride florals are from the First Frost stamp set that co-ordinate with the Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies. There is so much to 'Ooh' and 'Aah' over in this suite. You won't be disappointed with these products!

Just Add Ink #423 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! It' time again for another Just Add Ink Challenge. We have a great colour challenge for you suggested by Design Team Member, Kim. Some lovely neutrals, a pop of bright colour and some gorgeous metallics.

With Father's Day just round the corner here in Australia, the first Sunday in September, I thought this colour combo was perfect for a Father's Day card.

I've kept the card quite CAS (clean and simple) and really let the challenge colours speak for themselves. The contrast of the Basic Gray and the Bermuda Bay on the Whisper White, really make the colours jump off the card. I started with some 1/2cms strips of Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray and alternated them on the front of the card. Four of the Basic Gray and 5 of the Bermuda Bay. Apparently the 'designers' say that things look better in and odd number. Over the strips I then used my favourite technique at the moment splatters with embossing powder.

For the 'dad' letters I picked a piece of the Wood Textures DSP that was the closest in colour to Soft Suede and then embossed the letters with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder to give a bold outline against the Wood Textures DSP.

Even though this is a card for the Dads in our lives I reckon that you can still use ribbon and trim to accent your cards for the men. The Silver Baker's twine adds to the Silver in the challenge colours and the Burlap ribbon is a perfect addition to the neutral colours for this week.

How cute are those little stars at the bottom of the card? They actually come from the Festive Farmhouse Elements from the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue. The little stars not only go with Christmas cards but cards for any other occasion.

Check out more inspiration on the Just Add Ink Blog, there is everything from baby cards, flowers, birthday's to Father's Day. It always amazes me how all the cards are so different and yet we all have the same colours. Come and play along with the design team, we'd love to see how this weeks challenge colours inspire you.

Stampin' Up!® 2018 Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek | Joyous Noel Suite

Hello there stamping friends! It' beginning to look a lot Christmas...well it is in the Stampin' Up!® world with the upcoming arrival of the new Holiday Catalogue come September 5th 2018. I'm showing you a sneak peek of products so that you can go ooh and aah and to get your wish list ready to go to place your order once 5th Sept does roll around.

The products that I'm showing you mainly come from the Joyous Noel Suite. It's full of those deep, rich, luxe colours that are so on trend right now with some gorgeous neutrals and a beautiful hint of Copper. It's all just so stunning. So put your feet up, grab a cuppa and lets get on with the creations!

The main focus of all my creations today is that amazing Joyous Noel Specialty DSP. It is out of this world amazing and I've nearly used a whole pack after only having it in my hands for a week. It gorgeous seasonal designs on one side and beautiful copper foil accents on the other.

Can you tell I love it??!!

I've made 3 cards here today, all keeping with the Sahara Sand neutral as the base and then accented by the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP.

Click on the colour name to see all the Stampin' Up! Products in these colours

I've also accented the cards with images and sentiments from the Peaceful Noel Stamp Set, the new Sprig Punch, Snowflakes & Stars Wire Elements, Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon and the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper all from the Suite.

The Festive Farmhouse Elements (the light grey wooden words and seasonal elements) and the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that you also see throughout today's creations both come from the Festive Farmhouse Suite in the Stampin' Up!® 2018 Holiday Catalogue but they work so well with the products from this suite too.

How beautiful is that deep, rich Merry Merlot colour? Perfect for all your Christmas Creations. And when teamed up with Tranquil Tide, like in the DSP, you have that gorgeous traditional Christmas Colour Combination.

If you need some quick boxes for the Christmas Season, or anytime of the year really, these gorgeous Petal Boxes are so quick and easy to make. All made from a 5" piece of DSP and 4 x 3" Circles. You could make the base and cut the circles all out DSP or change up the circle 'lid' for a contrasting and fun look like what I've done here.

Stack the boxes together, with a little trinket inside each one, and tie together with the stunning Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon and you've got a gorgeous little gift all in one. Just makes the gift all the more special to package it up like this.

I've also made a fun Christmas Tree Decoration using the amazing DSP. Can you see why I've nearly used up the whole pack? This is call a Swedish Advent Star and is all made with strips of paper. You make two of the stars and then glue them together to make one big star.

The front of the Star is embellished with a Rosette again using the Joyous Noel DSP. I cut 2 x 12" strips of the DSP and scored it at every 1/4" and folded it concertina style. I used a hot glue gun and punched out a circle of cardstock to hold the rosette together. The DSP circle on the front also helps to hold the rosette together.

I'm loving the Snowflakes & Stars Wire Elements. They have a copper colour to them and they are perfect for accenting your cards and gifts. Pretty!

The last thing I've got to show you today using products from the Joyous Noel Suite is a fun scrapbook page. I've just die cut squares using the largest of the squares from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. You don't need to pull your sewing machine out for this fun look as the 'faux' stitching from the die does it all for you. Really makes short work to putting a scrapbook page like this together.

I've left a photo off the page for now as I would like to use it with a photo at the end of the year from the 2018 Christmas season. The embellishments aren't stuck down hard and fast so they would be easy to remove when the time comes for me to place my photo in  and then I can put them back and use a stronger adhesive to finish the page off. I've made the blank space big enough to put a 5" x 7" photo in. But you can make it any size that you want or even put in multiple photos.

Because the DSP is quite busy, I really thought that it didn't need much to embellish or accent it. I've just stamped some images from the Peaceful Noel Stamp set and then used some of the other new products from the Joyous Noel Suite to go with it. If you really wanted to you could leave the embellishments off and just have the DSP be the complete hero to the page. It really is that stunning that the DSP on it's own is gorgeous enough.

I hope that I've shown you some products that you now want on your wish list to have ready on 5th September and given you some inspiration on using them too!

Just Add Ink #422 | Just Choose Two

Hello there stamping friends! This week at Just Add Ink we've got one of our fun Just Add Two Challenges for you to get crafty and creative. You can choose from and use two of either Embossing Powder, Embossing Folders or Embossing Paste. These are some of my most favourite things to put on my cards and there will usually be one of these elements on most of the cards I make.

I've gone with Embossing Powder and Embossing Folders and if you look closely you might be able to spot a sneak peek at a new embossing folder coming out in the up coming Stampin' Up!® 2018 Holiday Catalogue.

I've gone with the fun Embossing Powder Splatter Technique for my Embossing Powder element. I first cut out and stuck a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on Crumb Cake Cardstock and then gently dusted over the embossing buddy so as not to catch on the delicate Laser-Cut paper. Then using an aqua painted I mixed some Tombow Multipurpose Glue with a little bit of water, squeezed out of the Aqua Painter, mixed the glue and the water together and then flicked the glue mixture on to the cardstock to make the splatter. I then quickly poured over the Copper Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool, till the glue had dried completely under the embossing powder.

Once the the Laser Cut Paper and Embossing Powder Element was done I went to layering all the different ribbon, trim, DSP, Embellishments, and Embossed Cardstock Elements till I was happy with the final result. Sometimes its a slow process but I like to take my time with all the different elements until I love the way the whole card looks together.

Did you spot the new Embossing Folder? It's the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. And with it being one of the Dynamic Embossing Folders it will leave a deep impression on your cardstock for a fun and textured look. Watch this space as I've got some ideas going on in my head with this embossing folder and can't wait to try them out!

The Just Add Ink Design Team has some amazing creations to inspire you!  Please hop on over and check out their challenge submissions and how they used the Just Add Two Elements! We would love to see you play along with this weeks challenge.

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop | Baby & Kids | Guest Designer

Hello there fellow crafters and stampers. Welcome to my little crafty space where I share what I love and love what I share. Today I'm participating in the Paper Adventures Team Hop, theme baby and kids. My beautiful friend Kelly Kent,  in Bunbury, Western Australia, and her fabulous team have invited me to be a guest for their once a month team blog hop and I am so very honoured to join them.

Today I've made two super cute Mini Accordion Zig Zag Baby Albums, one for a boy and the other for a girl, using the super gorgeous , super cute Stampin' Up! Twinkle Twinkle DSP, for the baby and kids theme. This would have to be my favourite DSP from the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The colours are stunning and the colour combo in the DSP is perfect for baby boy, baby girl or even unisex  (if you don't know what your having) creations. I know blue for boys and pink for girls is very stereotypical but I like it here for my creations today.

There are many tutorials on Pinterest and You Tube on how to make these albums. I followed this one on You Tube for the measurements but made it my own by using different products from the original and designing the look of the album to my look and style.

I started with the Gray Granite cover and then used the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and the cloud stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. The glitter shimmer in the Embossing Paste just makes the paste all that more pretty and special.

I've embossed  the letters from the Lined Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp Set on the Twinkle, Twinkle DSP and then die cut them out. The letters look so gorgeous embossed on the DSP and it adds to that cute baby look and feel.

I wanted a small 'hello' to go with the large 'baby' letters and after searching high and low through my stamp sets I found one in the Stampin' Up! Tabs for Everything Stamp Set. Stamped in Gray Granite and then layered with some pieces of the Silver & Petal Pink Baker's Twine and the Silver & Pool Party Baker's Twine.

The rest of the photos show the inside of the album (without photo's in it of course). The larger sections in the pages is where the photos go and then there are two pockets pages in the album for some journalling cards to record any memories or milestones.

The inside front left panel is embellished with some die cuts from the Stitched Labels Dies, the heart from the Twinkle, Twinkle DSP,  the heart from the Corrugated Elements and some hearts from the Frames Elements.

This mini album could make the perfect gift for grandparents for a brag book, or if you take out one of the pocket pages and put a photo on the front inside cover you could put a photo for the each month of the first 12 months of the baby's life, or you could change up the look all together and use the album to record your most recent holiday. The possibles are endless.

Thanks so much for hopping with me and the Paper Adventures team today!
Next on the hop is Siobhan Fitzsimmons. Go and see what she has to share! THANK YOU Kelly, so much, for the invite to hop with you and your team!
