Just Add Ink #598 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #598 | Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by fellow JAI Design Team Member - Chantell. This week its a fantstic colour challenge using one of the retiring In Colours - Misty Moonlight and then combined with two of Stampin' Up!'s core colours - Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler.

I've gone for a Basic White card today and then used the challenge colours with lots of layers, embellishments and trim - some current and some retired. I'ved a stamp set that has been with Stampin' Up! for a few years now - Forever Fern. I love how this stamp set makes it so easy to add all those fantastic layers with all the wonderful leaf images.

I've used the Stitched Greenery Die again for that fabulous stitched Misty Moonlight layer and then sponged around the edges using Misty Moonlight ink and the amazing Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes.

I've layered the stamped images with some Misty Moonlight 2020 - 2022 In Colour Ribbon (retired), which I've cut in half, Whisper White Cringled Seam Binding Ribbon - also cut in half, some pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephamera Pack and some Gold Thread (retired).

I've then finished off the card with a die cut circle stamped with another of the images from the Forever Fern Stamp Set, an embossed sentiment and some linen thread.

When this stamp set originally was released it was shown in the catalogue with all of the differerent green colours that Stampin' Up! has but I'm loving the different look and feel that this stamp set has given by using this weeks challenge colours.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you their take on this weeks challenge colours. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. There is something for everyone. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your take on the colour challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

Just Add Ink #594 | Just Add Masking

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we have a technique challenge for you - Just Add Ink #594 | Just Add Masking.

Basic masking is a fantastic way to add dimension to your cards without adding lots of paper layers. This is one of those techniques that has been around since the beginning of cardmaking began but it is one that gives such fabulous results. An 'oldie but a goodie' as they say

I've used the Stampin' up! Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set for the fun masking technique today. I stamped one of the sunflowers in the centre more to the edge and then stamped the same image on a large sticky note and cut that out with my paper snips. I layered my sticky note cut out over my already stamped sunflower and then was able to stamp the top and the bottom sunflower so that it looked like the middle sunflower was in front and the top and the bottom sunflower were sitting behind. To see the basic masking in action check out this tutorial here.

I've coloured the sunflowers in various Copic markers and then flicked over the card the brush tip end of the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write marker. I've finished the card off with Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check Ribbon (cut in half), Linen Thread, Gilded Gems, Pattern Party DSP and a heat embossed sentiment.

To see some other examples of Basic Masking check out my posts HERE and HERE.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see all the ways the team used the masking technique and then see how you can join in this weeks challenge. Can't wait to see your masked creation.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #577 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #577 | Inspiration Challenge. We've got a fabulous inspiration picture full of those autumn/fall feels, even though summer is just around the corner here in Australia.

While on a first glance at this picture you may think that there isn't that to glean from the picture to make a crafty project but the longer you look the more you get out of it. The colours, leaves, the water droplets, the autumn/fall theme. You are only limited by your imagination.

I've chosen some of the colours in the picture and some leaf elements for my green and gold (that's very Aussie, isn't it? Ha!) birthday card. I've used Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent for my green colours and then added different gold elements to accent those gorgeous greens. I think Evening Evergreen is becoming one of my favourite colours. It's just absolutely stunning!

I've started with Evening Evergreen as my card base and then one of the layers I've used the Stiched Greenery Die on. The stitched leaves make for a gorgeous background! It's super pretty! Over that then is a piece of Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum. This shimmer vellum is amazing! It gives any project a delicate touch and makes for a stunning overlay for those elegant projects. The translucent shimmer gives any project such a beautiful sparkle. I wish you could see the shimmer in the photo because it really stunning! If you don't have some of this amazing Shimmer Vellum, do yourself a favour and get some and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous it really is!

Ove ther Shimmer Vellum I've added some strips of the Expressions in Ink DSP, some Gold Fine Art Ribbon and a small strip of Evening Evergreen. I love layering up DSP and mixing up different patterns. Sometimes you don't need much of the DSP to mix it up. Sometimes just a small strip will do.

I've added some retired Stampin' Up! gold thread (I still miss this and wish they would bring it back), the die cut leaf cut out of Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, some of the 2021 - 2023 In Colour jewels and the Happy Birthday sentiment, embossed in Gold Embossing Powder.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Just Add Ink #573 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here. I pray that you are all safe and well. It's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #573 | Sketch Challenge.

Just by looking at this weeks sketch it is fairly basic but with that you can make your project CAS (Clean and Simple) or you can go all out. I've gone for a fairly clean look this week, clean for me, as I want to make quite a few of these to send out to people as a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) or otherwise know as a 'paper hug'. So the cleaner the card is the quicker it is to make 'en masse '.  Looking at my card now I can think of a few things on how I can 'Step-It Up'. Sometimes though having a stripped back card you can really see all the different products at work. Are you a CAS card maker or one who likes lots going on?

My card today uses the Hand-Penned Suite from the Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue. Can I say that the Hand-Penned DSP from this suite is absolutely beautiful and has a range of colours in it that will appeal to everyone.  I've started my card today with a Shimmery White base and then used to strips of the Hand-Penned DSP. These two patterns are on either side of the one sheet and the go so well together.

I've then layered Penned Flowers Dies with an image from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. How pretty is the die cut in the background? I love it! I've then finished my card off today with the Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon, Linen Thread (Of Course!), Elegant Faceted Gems and an Embossed Sentiment from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Just Add Ink #565 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. I've had a bit of a break from creating and blogging but I'm so happy to be back here with you today!

Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic colour challenge chosen by Just Add Ink Design Team member Lou - Just Add Ink #565 | Colour Challenge.

We've got two of the gorgeous Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2023 In Colours - Polished Pink and Pale Papaya, and then teamed those two colours with Basic Black from the Basics Collection.

I've gone for a Shimmery White card for you today and then added small pops of colour using the challenge colours. The beauty of these challenges is that you can use as much or as little of the challenge colours for your creation. I've gone for a less is more look today.

The base of my card is Shimmery White. I've created a 5" x 5" square card and then using my Brother Scan 'N' Cut, I cut a 4" square out of the front panel. This then created a frame on the front panel to then lay the floral die cut pieces, from the Artistic Dies, for a pretty front panel. Behind the die cut pieces I added a piece of the Expressions in Ink 12" x 12" DSP incorporates the gorgeous Pale Papaya colour with a beautful Watercolour/Alcohol Ink wash look.

Because the base layers of the card are so busy and so pretty too I didn't want much to layer over it. I've used some of the gold metallic pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some Linen thread. Over that is some of the classic black and white stripe DSP from the hostess Pattern Party 12" x 12" pack.

Layered over the DSP is a small strip of Polished Pink cardstock and then overlaid with the Happy Birthday Senitment from the Artisitcally Inked stamp set. I've then finished the card of with some another piece from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some of the super pretty 2021 - 2023 In Colour Jewels in Polished Pink.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with this weeks challenge colours. Come and check out the rest of the amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team using these gorgeous colours at the JAI Blog. We hope that you will join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your fantastic projects for this weeks challenge.

Just Add Ink #559 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic Just Chose Two Challenge, chosen by Just Add Ink team member Di Barnes - Just Add Ink #559 | Just Choose Two Challenge.

I haven't done a Just Choose Two for a while so it's nice to have a change up in the challenge schedule. This week its all about stitching (faux or real), stripes or paper strips. I've gone with stripes (of course) and then stitching for my project today, but really I could have included all three.

I've gone for a gorgeous Polished Pink, Black, White and Gold colour combo for you today. Have you used the new and gorgeous Polished Pink In Color yet? It is super pretty and goes so fabulously with a classic black and white colour combo.

I couldn't go past using the Black and White Stripes from the Pattern Party DSP and to give the stripes a bit of a softer look I've layered a piece of vellum over the top. I've used the Stitched Greenery Die on the vellum for my stitched element. How gorgeous is the stitched pattern from the die? This is the first time that I've used it and I have a feeling that it will be one of those products that will be used on everything.

Over the vellum I've placed a die cut from the Artistic Dies. This is one of those dies that looks stunning on its own. I really love it in the Shimmery White. The die cut really doesn't need much else with it but I had to add few things with it to give it that extra special touch. Behind the die cut I've placed some of the gold Expressions in Ink Ephrmera Pack for a stunning gold touch.

I've finished off the card with some linen thread, a strip of Polished Pink and the Thanks from the Artisically Inked stamp set and then some of the adhesive backed sequins also from the Expressions in Ink Ephrmera pack.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Just Add Ink #557 | Inspiration Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means it's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #557 | Inspiration Challenge. We've got a fabulous inspiration picture full of fabulous neutrals, lots of rustic elements, some touches of black & White and a fabulous array of greenery. There is lots to look at in this gorgeous picture and lots that should spark your imagination.

I've chosen some of the colours in this picture today and the greenery for the basis of my card today.  I gone with Crumb Cake, some Black & White and then a spray of leaves in some of the 2021 - 2023 In Colours.

I've used the Crumb Cake cardstock as my base. It really is the perfect neutral and goes with absolutely everything! You would be hard pressed to find a colour that it didn't go with. I really love Crumb cake with Black and White like what I've done here today using the stripes from the Pattern Party DSP. This DSP is a hostess only reward which means either place an order with me or host a party with me over $310 AUD and you can have this pack of DSP for FREE! Contact me today to find out more about how you can get your hands on it!

Combined with the base layers of my card I've used some of the products from the Expressions in Ink suite from the new 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue. The Happy Birthday and the die cut leaves come from the Artistically Inked Bundle and then the gold elements and the sequins come from the Expressions in Ink Ephermera and they are all part of this amazing suite.

Because I'm loving the simple elegance of this card, it really has that less is more kind of feel, I really thought that it didn't need much else to finish it off other than my all time favourite trim - Linen Thread.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Just Add Ink #555 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week its a fantstic colour challenge chosen byJust Add Ink Design Team member Rachael - Just Add Ink #555 | Colour Challenge.

We've got 2 of the 2020 - 2022 In Colours - Magenta Madness and Just Jade, and then added Pool Party with it. Such a fun colour combo! Love it!

I've gone for lots of layers today for a bright floral birthday card.

I've started my card today with lots of layers of Pool Party cardstock and DSP. Some of the layers have been embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing folders and then the Pool Party spotty DSP comes from the new Pattern Party 12" x 12" DSP pack that is a Host Only reward. This gorgeous paper has lots of Polka dots, flowers, stripes, and more. Whatever type of pattern you need, you'll find it in the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. My little portion of the Pool Party DSP does not do this pack of paper justice! Its amazing! Contact me today to find out how you can get this amazing paper too!

I've teamed up all my Pool Party layers with some floral accents from the In Bloom Bundle. I've used the Pierced Blooms Dies for my gorgeous Magenta Madness and Just Jade Flowers and then the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set - In Bloom. How gorgeous are those bright flowers against the Pool Party? So fun!

To finish off the card I added the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon, Linen Thread and some 2021 - 2023 In Colour Gems.

Just Add Ink #553 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge, JAI #553. We've got another fun sketch for you suggested to us by fellow JAI Design Team Member Kelly Kent. Fun for layering but has a lot of scope for you to make this sketch your own.

I've used this sketch to have another play around with the beautiful Stampin' Up! Pansy Petal Suite and how to make a card using mostly cardstock and DSP. The only stamp I used today was for the sentiment.

I've started my card with a Basic White base and then I've layered some Soft Succulent cardstock and then a piece of the Fresh Freesia Gingham from the Pansy Petals DSP. The Soft Succulent aand Fresh Freesia together makes for a beautiful colour combination. I can see that being used again in the future. Over the gingham I added strips of Fresh Fressia cardstock. I changed up the sketch slightly by adding five strips instead of the four. Just a personal prefernce to change it up that way as I personally thought the five strips looked better that the four. Don't they say in design that things look better in odd numbers rather than even.

I've added a panel of the Basic White cardstock over the base layers and for an added touch of prettyness I put a small piece of the Square Vellum Doilies at each end of the Basic White layer.

Then to finish off the card I've added some Pansies and leaves that have been die cut from the Pansy Petals DSP. Use a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine along with the coordinating Pansy Dies to cut the images from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. Cutting the images out of the DSP makes for making a really quick card with beuatiful imagery. Another great thing for making cards with the images from the DSP is that there are lots of Pansies and leaves in the DSP so you can easily make a bulk batch of cards with all these gorgeous images.

With it being Mother's Day here in Australia this coming Sunday I thought I would use the 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set but you can easily swap that out for whatever sentiment you desired.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Just Add Ink #551 | Just Add 3D Challenge

Hello there stamping friends. I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous Friday. Because it's Friday, that means that is time for another Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add Ink #551 | Just Add 3D Challenge.

This week we are all about the 3D projects. I don't normally make the 3D projects so it was fun this week to do something out of the norm. I started by consulting my favourite place for 3D tutorials, Splitcoast Stampers, and came across a tutorial for a Slider Box. I hadn't made one of these before so I thought it would be fun to give it a go.

When the box is all closed and embellished it looks like a normal gift box....

But once you pull the ribbon tab on the side to pull out the box a hidden message card pops out to the left at the same time with enough room on it for you to write a simple greeting. Super cute and super fun!

I made the actual box part and the slider mechanisim with Basic White Cardstock and then I've the gorgeous products from the new Pansy Petal Suite that features in the new Stampin' Up! 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue, that go live for customers to purchase from on 4th May 2021.

How gorgeous are the DSP patterns in the new Pansy Petals DSP? And with the gorgeous Pansy Dies to finish off the box you really don't need much else to embellish it as they are a statement on their own.

I've finished off the box with a square vellum doily, Linen Thread, White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and the gorgeous 2021 - 2023 In Color Jewels.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration for this week's 3D theme. Please head on over to the Just Add Ink Blog to see all the variety in the JAI Design Teams Projects and then come and join in the fun of this week's Just Add 3D challenge. Can't wait to see what you create.
