Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Colour Challenge

Why hello there! Welcome, Welcome! Happy Fri-Yay! It's time for another Fancy Friday Blog Hop! If you've not hopped with us before we are a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Members. We have a blog hop once a month with everything fun and fancy and showing what we love!

This months hop we have a gorgeous colour combo for you! Emerald Envy, Night of Navy and Pool Party.  Isn't it pretty?!

My card today I've gone for that crisp white look with touches of the colour combo so that they really stand out! I've pulled out a framelits set that I'm ashamed to say that I haven't used yet before today - Bouquet Bunch Framelits! Eek! I really loved with this framelits set and co-ordinating stamp set  when I saw it released in 2017. Had to have it straight away and I hadn't looked at it since. I know terrible right!

This card is actually made for someone who is going through a tough time at the moment and I actually thought of getting some flowers delivered to her. I then thought they are just going to wither and die so why not send some flowers that are going to last for a long time! These flowers will never wither and die!

I washed a layer of Pool Party ink over a sheet of Watercolour Paper to get that washed/mottled look. and then used the die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits to cut out all the blooms. Because the ink dried out a little lighter than I would had liked I washed over some more ink till I got the desired colour. The card in real life is a darker wash than in the photo here and really does look better in real life. Once the ink wash was completely dry on each die cut I picked up some more Pool Party Ink with and Aqua Painter to flick some more of that colour for the splattered look. I really think that the bunch of flowers looks like a gorgeous bunch of Hydrangea's with the variation of colour in the flowers.

Now that I've had a play with this set its time to use it some more! Going to try some different colour combos for all the different colours of Hydrangea's. I've got some colour ideas that I'm looking forward to trying!
Time to get this card in the post and on to its intended recipient and to let them know I'm thinking about them.

Now on to the gorgeous Dani Dziama to see her use of colour combo!

Just Add Ink #397 | Just Add 'H'

Hello stamping friends! The days and weeks just keep rolling on and we have come to another Friday and another challenge over at Just Add Ink. It's a pretty simple challenge but it's lots of fun, Just Add 'H'. As long as a 'H' element is the main focus of of your project then you're set for the challenge.

I've used the Stampin' Up! Happy Celebration stamp set for a Happy Birthday card for the guys. With the 'H' theme I really wanted that 'Happy' to be the main focus of the card.

I've stamped the 'Happy' using the Memento Tuxedo Black in on Crumb Cake card stock. I did originally try to colour the 'Happy' with Night of Navy Stampin' Blends but wasn't happy with the way it was turning out so I left just the outline of the 'Happy' stamped as is.

All the colours for all the items on the card come from the colours in the True Gentleman DSP from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue. Its such a stunning pack of DSP and the colours are gorgeous. Perfect for those boys and men in our lives. It's got some classic patterns mixed up with some fun images. So fun!

I've then embellished the card with Linen Thread, Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon, Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon, True Gentleman Buttons and some Night of Navy Enamel Shapes.Who says you can't put ribbon on a guys card?! Have you seen that Corduroy Ribbon?? It is beyond gorgeous! It's beautiful!!! Watch this space! New ribbon love that will be on all my creations!

There is loads more Just Add 'H' inspiration from the AMAZING Just Add Ink gals over at the Just Add Ink Blog. While you are there check out all the details on how to enter this weeks challenge and then come and join in the fun! You are only limited by your imagination!

Just Add Ink #396 | Just Add a Sketch

Hello there stamping friends! It's time again for a new challenge over at Just Add Ink. Congratulations to last weeks winners and thank you to you all who entered last weeks challenge. The weeks seem to roll so quickly and before you know it one challenge is over and an new one begins.

If you've been following me for a while you will know that a sketch challenge is my all time favourite! All the hard work is done for you! All you have to do is pick out a stamp set, some paper and embellishments and put it all together using the sketch!

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/02/just-add-ink-396sketch.html

I've gone for a bright and fun card today using the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp set with the co-ordinating DSP 6" x 6" stack, Picture Perfect Party. The colours for the card all come out of the DSP stack so that they all co-ordinate together.

The background is just repeatedly stamping the small triangle stamp using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink on Bermuda Bay Cardstock. This is one of the easiest ways to make a fun and interesting background. It is so easy to do create a background like this as you don't have to be to precise. Just stamp away and your done!

The candles are part of a two-step stamping technique. The first part of the image is the lighter colour which I first stamped off once to get the lighter hue and then the patterned image on the top is the same colour stamped in full strength. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love thins two-step stamping, especially using the one colours, as you get a whole lot more out of you inks and more variation of colour.

The card is finished off with one of the sentiments from the stamp set and then die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. and then accented with some of the fabulous and beautiful Stampin' Up! Ribbon, Trim and Embellishments. All my favourite things to finish off and accent a card!

Check out the rest of the amazing creations from the fabulous Just Add Ink Design Team gals and  their take on the sketch. I love how we all have the same sketch yet we all create something very different! While you are checking out all those awesome creations, check out all the details on this weeks challenge and how you can enter your creation! Can't wait to see your creations!

Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop | Cake Soiree

Hello stamping friends. Welcome to this months Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop. We are bringing you our creations using the Cake Soiree Bundle. It's everything pretty, girly, gorgeous and all things that I love! The products from the Sweet Soiree Suite were the first ones that I had to have from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue and have really loved creating with them so far.

Today I've gone with Crumb cake as my bas colour and then build up my card from there. I first stamped and embossed the cake with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then washed over the cake a wash of Whisper White Craft Ink on top of the Crumb Cake using an Aqua Painter. I made sure not to use too much water when putting down the white ink so as not to pill the Crumb Cake Card stock. This white ink acts as a protective layer when colouring on the Crumb Cake cardstock but you still have to be careful not to use too much water.

I've then coloured in the cake with colours that are found in the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit  - Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Berry Burst. The white wash of the cake and the colouring in of the flowers make it look like the flowers have been painted on the cake and the images have been piped on with white icing. All the things that make a gorgeous and beautiful cake.

To the side of the cake I've layered some pieces from the co-ordinating Thinlits Die set - Sweet Cake and as well from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit. Again using the same colours that I used to colour in the cake. Love that consistency of colours throughout the card used from the embellishment kit. Consistency and co-ordination is the key!

Under the cake I've layered a piece of the beautiful Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper and a piece of the Marina Mist Scalloped Velvet Ribbon, from the embellishment kit. If I was you I would get the embellishment kit just for that ribbon. Its A-MA-ZING!!! I think Stampin' Up! need to bring that ribbon out in a full roll of it. Saying it is beautiful is an understatement!!!

And then I've finished the card of with cutting out the 'Happy Birthday' from one of the sentiments from the Cake Soiree Stamp set and then dotting a few Silver Sequins around on the card for that little something extra and that gorgeous touch of bling!

I hope that I've give you some inspiration with this bundle and suite and some more ideas on how to use these products. Now back to the top of the hop with Amy Koenders in the U.S.

Just Add Ink #395 | Just Add Inspiration

Hello there stampers! Welcome to another Just Add Ink Challenge. We have a gorgeous inspiration picture that is everything pretty in pink. What ever inspires you from the picture, use that as the basis for your creation and then go from there!

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/02/just-add-ink-395inspiration.html

I do love pink and pink blossoms at that so that is what I was starting with as the inspiration for my card today. I've coloured a sheet of the gorgeous Stampin' Up! Petal Passion DSP. This beautiful DSP is black and white and lends itself to be coloured. I've coloured those pretty flowers with Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin' Blend Alcohol Markers.  The Blends Markers make colouring a whole 12" x 12" sheet of DSP quick and easy and then you have your own personalised sheet of DSP ready to match any project. Wouldn't the whole sheet look fabulous cut up in a lots One Sheet Wonder cards. The DSP looks great in just black and white also. Either way it really is beautiful DSP!

I've only used a small portion of the coloured DSP and then mixed it with he stripe pattern for a fun background layer. I'm a sucker for black and white stripes so I knew I had to use a bit of it with the floral sheet. You had me at black and white stripes! Love!

The die cuts, the embossed circle and the gold 'Thank You' are all from products from the co-ordinating suite that the Petal Passion DSP comes from in the 2018 Occasions Catalogue. It really is such a beautiful suite and you really have to have it all!

I love the single branch die cut across the front of the card. I did try and layer some flowers or something like that on the branch as we but with the background being quite busy I pulled it all back a bit to get rid of all the extra 'noise'. Finishing the card off with some ribbon, trim and enamel shapes was just enough to complete the look.

Check out the rest of the amazing creations from the fabulous Just Add Ink Design Team gals and what inspired them. It's amazing how we can all see something different from the same picture. While you are checking out all those awesome creations, check out all the details on this weeks challenge and how you can enter your creation! Can't wait to see what inspires you!
