Just Add Ink #677 | Sketch Challenge

Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #677 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fabulous sketch for you designed by fellow JAI team member - Jan.

It's a basic sketch design but has a lot of scope for you to make this sketch your own and of course I have done that today. Just a little bit.

My card today is using products from the Stampin' Up! Joy of Christmas Suite. I've used this suite quite a bit now (more creations to come throughout this month 😉) and I love that each one has turned out so different from the other. If you want to see one of my previous cards using this suite, check it out HERE

I've kept the square deisgn of the sketch with the Noel square centre panel and I've added a foliage spray below that panel to replace the second square element of the sketch. I felt that the card the looked very unbalanced so I then added the second spray of leaves and trip to the top corner. It's all about the balance! I added the embossed and coloured leaves to the bottom die cuts to help add to the actual design of the sketch.

I used the retired Shimmery White cardstock for the base layers so that gives the card a more of a creamy white look rather than a brilliant white. I also used some Gilded Gems and Gold thread from my retired stash.

I've kept the colours of my card farily traditional to the red and green Christmas colours with the addition of the black in the ribbon and the embossed sentiment.

Go and check out the design teams take on the sketch at the Just Add Ink Blog for some inspiration and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #675 | Just Add ... Spotlight Technique Challenge

Happy Friday! I'm sharing with you today my latest card for the design team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #675 | Just Add ... Spotlight Technique Challenge.

My take on the Spotlight technique for my cards today was Spotlight Stamping. Its a technique which as the name suggest adds spotlight to certain part of stamp. In this technique what you do is highlight a certain portion of stamp with your favorite coloring medium. So I've stamped the leaf image on the cardstock and embossed it with White Embossing Powder and then I've added some ink blending on the cardstock using the Stampin' Up! colours - Bubble Bath, Fresh Fresia and Highland Heather.

How stunning are these colours blended together? I'm loving it that's for sure! I've used products from the Masterfully Made Suite from the Stampin' Up! 2023 -2024 Annual Catalogue. In the catalogue the project samples are made bright and bold colours but with the colour combination that I've used today I love how gorgeous these suite products with the soft and pretty look.

In this card the embossing creates an emboss resist look and then the laying the image from the die-cut with the image on the cardstock base layer accents the Spotlight Stamping technique.

In this card, lining up the bottom image with the top image, and having them in different colours really accents the Spotlight Stamping Technique.

Isn't it such a bonus when you can get two cards from the one technique. I really enjoyed this technique and I'm looking forward to trying it with different stamps and also different ink blending colour combinations.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you their take on the Spotlight Technique. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your take on this fun technique.

Just Add Ink #673 | Just Choose Two Challenge

I'm here today to bring you my card for the NEW challenge we have over at Just Add Ink Challenges - Just Add Ink #673 - Just Choose Two Challenge.

Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing from Doors, Windows and Flowers. Flowers was a given for me as I love creating with just about anything floral but my other item to feature was a bit harder to choose. I went with Window but not using an acual image of a window but making a window in my card by making a Split Window Card.

I've used a Calypso Coral card base and then for the flower element I've used the Stampin' Up! Garden Wallk DSP. This is stunning DSP and there is something in it for everyone. The flowers around the side of the window have also been fussy cut from the Garden Walk DSP.

I've finished off the card with the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon (which I cut in half), some Linen Thread and some Blooming Pearls.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #671 | Inspiration Picture Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today we over at Just Add Ink have a fabulous inspiration picture challenge - Just Add Ink #671 | Inspiration Picture Challenge.

With all the green and gold colourings in the inspiration picture I used those colours as my inspiration today to make a Christmas card.

I've used products from the Stampin' Up! Joy of Christmas Suite from the new 2023 September - December Mini Catalogue. This suite is what we call a Mega Suite that incorporates two stamp and die bundles, two packs of Designer Series Paper, Ribbon and Embellishments. Lots of products to play and get creative with.

I've started the card today with a Basic White layerd base and then added a layer of Shaded Spruce onto the Basic White. I've stamped one of the image from the Joy of Noel stamp set on the Shaded Spruce layer with Shaded Spruce Ink. Over that I've then used the Shaded Spruce Stampin' Wrtie Marker to add some splatters.

The large greenery die cut piece, from the Christmas Classics Dies, I've die cut out of Vellum and then layered over some Joy of Christmas DSP, Black and Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon, and some Linen Thread.

The card is then finished off with the Square Label Die, the Noel (stamped, heat embossed, and die cut using the Joy of Noel Bunle), the Merry Christmas from the Christmas Classics Stamp set and some Loose Holly Gems and Sequins.

I love the layering of this card and all the different elements that put it all together. Makes for a very festive looking card.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you what inspired them. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see what has inspired you this week.

Just Add Ink #667 | Sketch Challenge

Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #667 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fabulous sketch for you designed by fellow JAI team member - Di.

I recently recieved my pre-order Stampin' Up! goodies from the 2023 Sept - Dec Mini Catalogue and I was super keen to have a play. So my card today is using some of those new products and is helping me get a head start on making my Christmas cards.

The DSP is the new Garden Walk DSP that is perfect for every occasion. It can be used for every season throughout the year, not just for Christmas. I've used the Garden Green Striped patter for the background layer and the bright Poppy Parade flowers have been fussy cut also from the Garden Walk DSP.

The die cut foliage pieces are from the Joy of Christmas Suite, cut from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. These pieces are on a long rectagular die but I cut them off so that they could sit better with the design of the card.

The ribbon, seqins amd semtiments also all come from the Joy of Christmas Suite. I love combining products from different suites that don't necessarily go together to create something a little bit different.

Make sure you check out my online store  HERE on 6th September 2023 when you can purchase products from the new 2023 Sept - Dec Mini Catalogue.

Go and check out the design teams take on the sketch at the Just Add Ink Blog for some inspiration and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

Just Add Ink #665 | Clean & Simple Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here.  I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are Just Adding Clean and Simple (CAS).

I'm really loving CAS cards (well CAS for me) at the moment. When they are done well they can be really striking and inspiring to other crafters because they aren't all fancy and over the top and to technical to recreate.

For my card today I'm showing you a sneak peek of a stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! 2023 Sept - Dec Mini Catalogue (AKA the Holiday Catalogue). This is one of the images from the Gift of Giving Stamp Setand I love it because you can COLOUR it!!!!  My all time favourite thing to do when creating my cards. Water colour, Alcohol Markers, Pencils. They bwould all work well with the images from this stamp set.

I chose to water colour the image for this card today. I've used the Fluid 100 Water colour paper that Stampin' Up! offer in their catalogue and then stamped and heat embossed the image with Black Embossing Powder. Then using a water painter I coloured the image using the wet on wet technique were you 'paint' water into the part of the image you want to colour and then apply small amounts of ink onto the wet section and watch it flow. Sometimes you have to help the colour around with the water painter to where you want the colour to go.

If you feel like you've added too much colour dab the section with paper towel to 'mop' up the colour until you have the desired look you are after.

Check out the product list for all the colours used, as I used a lot. I've finished off the card with a simple sentiment and linen thread and some Real Red gems (that are also from the new Mini Catalogue). Becuase the colours are bright and bold I really though that the card didn't need much trim and embellishment so really kept that all farily clean and simple.

Go and check out to see what CAS cards the JAI Design Team made on the JAI Blog. I love the out of the box thinking that the DT memebers used for their projects this week. Cant' wait to see what your project will be!

Just Add Ink #663 | Just Choose Two Challenge

I'm here today to bring you my card for the NEW challenge we have over at Just Add Ink Challenges - Just Add Ink #663 - Just Choose Two Challenge

Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing between Flowers, Gingham and Splatters. I do love me a Just Choose Two Challenge and this one is no exception. I think they are my equal favourite with a Sketch Challenge. I can't decide which I like more.

I chose flowers, of course, with the flowers from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set. I've had this set for a long time and haven't inked it up until now. I've used the new Boho Blue In Color for the petals and used the trusty, old faithful Old Olive for the flower leaves and stems.

The other element I chose for my card today was Splatters and I'm going to say its a very subtle splatter. I used Crumb Cake for the card base and then layered over that another Crumb Cake layer die cut with the Dots & Spots die. Over that then I flicked the brush tip end of a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to create my splatters. I love the tone on tone look with using the same ink as your cardstock to create beautiful, subtle, less is more look.

The 'Sending' was also stamped in Boho Blue Ink and that is layered on some Boho Blue Textured Ribbon and finished off with the 'Birthday Wishes' White Embossed on Boho Blue cardstock, some linen thread and some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.
