Case-ing the Catty | #ctc496 | Case a Punch Project

Hello Stamping Friends. Welcome to a super exciting CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop. We at CASE-ing the Catty are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues (Catty) with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit.

If you've come from Julia Quinn's blog welcome, if you have started here with me also welcome.

This week we are CASE-ing a project using Punches from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue or the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue. I don't own many punches from either catalogue so my card today has CASE-d the design of a sample, but I've used dies for my card rather that Punches.

I thought this sample that uses the Humble Home Builder Punch was super cute and have used it as the design for my card today. I was drawn to the offset circle and the big bow and incorporated those design elements on my card.

I've used the Online Exclusive Sophisticated Sled Bundle for a 'wintry' Christmas card. Like the original I've kept the offset circle by using the Spotlight on Nature Dies and instead of a big ribbon bow I've used a large Baker's Twine Bow. I've made multiples of the same card as I need a few more Christmas Cards to be able to get them written and sent out all by the start of the December. I'm never this organised. Who is this person?

I've started the card with a Pool Party cardstock base and then layered some Basic White and one of the Country Woods DSP designs. I felt this DSP tied in well with the woodgrain of the sled. Even though they are a different colour. It's that have the same design elements to keep that continuity and coordination of design.

Last time I used this bundle I used the gorgeous die cut ice skates. This time I wanted to use the stamped wreath. I stamped the wreath with Memento ink on Basic White Thick cardstock and then coloured the wreath with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. For the leaves I used Shaded Spruce Light & Dark, and for the berries I used Cherry Cobbler Light & Dark Markers.

I've finished the card off with the 'Good Tidings' sentiment, Real Red & White Baker's Twine, and some Iridescent Pearls.

I love the cool tones of this card to give that winter feel (even though we are heading for summer here in Australia). There is just something about winter at Christmas that I would love to experience just once, even though it feels very unnatural.

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Peta Stephen Be sure to give her some CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop love.
