Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Soft Spring Host Set

Hello stamping friends. It's so good to have you here.Welcome to this month's edition of the Stamapin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. This month we are creating projects either using the Hostess Stamp Sets from the 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue or gifts that you can give your hostess when they hold a party with you.

International readers please use the translate feature, found in the side bar, to translate to your language.

The hostess sets are a fabulous incentive for those who hold a Stampin' Up! party, to get some free products working with your demonstrator to host a Stampin' Up! party is a great way to experience the joy of creativity as you gather with your friends and earn free products.

I'm showcasing for you today the Soft Spring Hostess Stamp Set. How gorgeous are those plant images? They look like lavender and wisteria to me. Either use the stamps to fill in the open line work or colour them in using Stampin' Blends or water colour.

Soft Spring

I've stamped some of the images on Crumb Cake cardstock and the others on Whisper White Thick cardstock for two different square card looks. Both coloured in with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers.

My first card I've used Memento tuxedo Black ink to stamp the images on Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped the first lot of the plant image to to far left, stamped the same image on a Post-it note and then fussy cut that out. I covered the first image with the cut out Post-it note and then restamped the same image over the first image to make it look like they were layered together, using the masking technique.

Because the actual stamps are photopolymer, I was able to 'bend' the stamp on the clear block to give the second stamping of the plant image to make it look like it was bending over slightly. I've then coloured the leaves with Mossy Meadow Dark & Light Stampin' Blends Markers and the 'lavender' tops with Highland Heather Dark & Light Stampin' Blends Makers. I finished the card off with a splatter of the Highland Heather Stampin' Write Markers, Embossed the top layer with the Subtle 3D embossing folder and some ribbon, trim and embellishments. The sentiment comes from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set, which has been heat embossed with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder.

My second card this time has been stamped on Whisper White Thick Cardstock. I've started with the image that is used to stamp in the open line work of the 'wisteria' plant, to quickly add colour to the image. I've used this infill image to make a splatter look on the background of the card. Either using full strength ink or ink that has been stamped off once or twice. I love the fun look that this image gives to the background. After that I've used the Highland Heather Stampin' Write Marker for some added splatter.

The 'wisteria' image I stamped on Whisper White Thick cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured it in with Highland Heather Dark & Light, Mossy Meadow Dark & Light and Gray Granite Light Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. How fun does the 'wisteria' image look on the Stitched Nested Label die cut? I've also embossed the Stitched Nested Die cut with the Subtle 3D embossing folder for that 'subtle' addition of texture. Again, all finished off with ribbon, trim, embellishments and the sentiment from the Free as a Bird stamp set.
