Just Add Ink #281- Just Add A Colour Combo

This week at Just Add Ink its a Colour Combo challenge chosen by Di. Each Design Team Member had to choose their favourite three colours for the colour combination! WOW! What a hard decision!!!! Of course one of my favourite colours is Gold! But as for the other two, do bling and sparkle count as colours! LOL!
I really love nearly all of the Stampin' Up! colours (besides Cajun Craze, who likes that!). So instead of trying to choose what my other two favourite colours are I kept them neutral being black and white.

So here is my creations with Gold, Black and White (and a little touch of red) using Delicate Ornaments and the co-ordinating framelits Embellished Ornaments.

I used my all time favourite technique to do, Heat Embossing. It just gives your cards and creations that something special!

I've also heat embossed Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder on to the Typeset Speciality DSP to give it a different look.

It's all finished off with some circles of  Red Glimmer Paper punched out with the Hand held Circle punch and the sentiment is from the Oh, What Fun stamp set that goes with the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.

Come and show use your favourite 3 colours for this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink and make sure you check out and leave a comment for the Just Add Ink Design Team. What a creative bunch they are! So talented!

Thanks so Much for stopping By!
Below is a list of all the items that I used in this project. If you live in Australia and would like to purchase and of these items used then just click on the image and you will be directed to my online store.

Can You Case It? #87 - Colour Challenge

It's challenge time again for Can You Case It? This week is a blues colour challenge. Any three blues with neutrals. How bright and cheery are these colours? They look fantastic.

I originally thought to create some thing with water but that is a far as the idea went. I couldn't figure out in my head what to do. So that idea was scrapped! I tried a few other things and it just wasn't my week! I think I had creators block like when writers have writes block. Some weeks when I create for the design teams that I'm on I can't get my card or creation made quick enough because I just want to get my idea down onto my card but this week the ideas certainly weren't forthcoming.

I eventually had a play yesterday and got a card made.  I've used the Amazing Birthday stamp set and combined some of the papers from the Cherry On Top DSP stack.

How fun a bright does that look!

I've embellished the card with the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and some Linen Thread.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Can You Case It Design Team. There is a fabulous array of creations this week using the challenge colours and make sure you link up and enter your project on the Can You Case It page. Can't wait to see your creations.

Just Add Ink #280 - Just Add Glimmer

Another Friday and challenge for Just Add Ink. This weeks challenge is brought to you by Nikki. It is a sparkly one too - Just Add Glimmer. I'm expecting lots of Oohs and Ahhs when you link up your creations to this weeks challenge. You may have the same reaction when you check out what the rest of the Design Team have created.

I knew when I saw this weeks challenge on the challenge list that I wanted to use the Striped Scallop Thinlit die with the Gold Glimmer Paper. And thats about where the idea stopped! So off to my other favourite site (other than Just Add Ink of course) Pinterest to get the creative juices flowing. Eventually I put this card together.

While on my search for some inspiration I cam across this colour combo Crumb Cake/Kraft, Island Indigo, Gold Glimmer, Very Vanilla and Whisper White. The ideas were flowing again.

I only used Whisper White though because I have this really anal thing about putting Whisper White and Very Vanilla together and I just can't do it! HA!

Becuase the Winter Wonderland Vellum layer and the Stripped Scallop Die make the card quite busy I thought that it didn't really need much stamping or embellishing.

So I dotted a few sequins around, used a Gold Foil doily and finished the card of with a basic gold button. I think I met this weeks breif with Just Adding Glimmer and I am really looking forward to seeing how you add some glimmer.

Make sure you check out the Just Add Ink Design Team and their glimmery and glitzy creations! There is certainly a lot of sparke this week! They are an amazing bunch of crafters, that's for sure!

Thakns so much for stopping by!

Can You Case It? #86 - A Sketch Challenge

It's Sunday so that means is time for another challenge at Can You Case It?  This week have a sketch challenge.

I  took a little artistic licence with this weeks sketch and created a fireplace scene with the new Festive Fireplace stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. This set also has a co-odinating set of Framelits. Yay!

I searched on Pinterest for Christmas Mantels/fireplaces and saw quite a few pictures with Burlap stockings hanging over the fireplace I then remembered that you can cut the Burlap Ribbon with the Framelits and that's where my idea for this card started.

I really wanted to put some other things sitting on top of the mantel place but then the whole thing would have become quite crowded and then you wouldn't have been able to see the picture frame in the background! I even mitred the corners on the frame to make it look more realistic!

The 'Tis The Season' senitment comes from the stamp set Oh, What Fun that co-ordinates the the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit. Thought it was perfect for my frame and also one of the stamps that actually fit in my frame. LOL!

I really love how this card turned out and how festive it looks! Make sure you check out the rest of Talented Can You Case It? Design Team and their take on the sketch. Come and show us your creations with the sketch and link it up at Can You Case It? Can't wait to see your creations!

Thanks so much for Stopping By!

ESAD 2015 Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

The 2015 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue is here and has been live worldwide for nearly two weeks now! I just love this amazing catalogue and I hope you love it as much as I do!
To mark is wonderful occasion of a new catalogue my lovely friends and I from the Facebook group ESAD  have decided to a Blog Hop to showcase the fabulous products from this awesome catalogue.
You may have joined me from Andrea Buckland  or started here with me. Either way you are in for a treat to see the creativity and imagination of myself and 23 other fellow Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up! demonstrators. So grab your beverage of choice, get comfortable and get ready for the hop!
Today I've made 3 cards using the Home for Christmas DSP. This is an amazing pack of  DSP with its hand-drawn images that evoke nostalgic feelings of Christmas past.

There are 12,  12"x 12", sheets in the pack: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
Isn't it stunning! I love it!

My first card is a simple card that can easily be mass produced if you are needing to make a lot of Christmas cards for your family and friends.

It has been accented with the amazing Snowflake Elements, Winter Wonderland Embellishments and Gold Glitter Ribbon.

My next card is a bit of a sparkly one. And looks so pretty!

I covered the Bauble DSP piece with Versa Mark, sprinkled over Heat 'n' Stick powder and heated it up till it became sticky and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. Boy does that stuff go everywhere!

Its actually quite hard to see here but the glitter looks amazing and it really gives that something special to the card.

Because the glitter layer gives the card a lot of detail I wanted to keep the stamping and embellishments quite simple.

For my last card I've fussy cut the Christmas Tree and presents out and layered them on the card. Although this idea is not originally mine, why wouldn't you cut the tree out and use the image on your creations. The imagery on this DSP is amazing and is great to cut out!

The 'MERRY' comes from the Little Letters Thinlits. and the Christmas is from the stamp set Oh, What Fun.

How gorgeous does that tree look? There are other images on some of the other sheets that are perfect to cut out and stick on to your creations.

I made a card a few weeks ago using the Santa DSP sheet. Check it out here

I really hope I've inspired you today and given you some ideas for you to use with your Home for Christmas DSP pack.

I hope that you have enjoyed what I've shown you on this hop.The next stop on the hop is the talented Kathryn Ruddick. Click on the Next Blog button below to click on to Kathryn.

Just Add Ink #279 - Just Add A Sketch

We have another sketch challenge is week at Just Add Ink and I do love a sketch challenge! I think out of all the different types of challeges sketches are my favourite. I love that the sketch gives you a starting point and then you can use you creative interpretation on how you want your card to look based on the sketch!

The card that I have made this week goes to a very special little lady, my daughter (my youngest of 3 kids) who turned 7 yesterday! She is growing up so quickly! I know most mums say this about their children but it does only feel like yesterday she was born!

She has two older brothers so she loves getting outside and mucking around with them like a little tomboy but she also loves girly, pretty stuff and everything pink. I really love this mix in her personality. She has the best of both worlds!

So the card I have made for her has some of her favourite colour and a bit of sparkle as well.  One of the best things I love about handmade cards is that they are made with the recipient in mind.

There is a picture that I have seen on Facebook and Pinterest and it says
"If you are lucky enough to receive and handmade card, take the time to consider the time and joy that went into it. With every small detail they were thinking of you and how this card would make you smile. That is why handmdae cards need pride and place on your mantelpiece!"

I love this! It is so true!

Make sure you check out the rest of the amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team and I can't wait to see you link up your creations for this weeks challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Can You Case It? #85 - Colour Challenge

This weeks Can You Case It? challenge is a colour challenge! Some gorgeous colours at that!

I've been playing so much with my Holiday Catalogue products that my Annual Catalogue products were starting to feel neglected. So time to pull out a favourite stamp set - Watercolor Wings. It is such a stunning set and you really cant go wrong when using because the results always turn out amazing!

The striped panel looks black in this picture but in fact they are actually Early Espresso from the DSP from the Neutrals Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack.

The butterfly is actually stamped using one colour, Hello Honey. I used a simple but very effective technique called 'Stamping Off' (that's what I call it). The lightest layer I stamped on to scrap paper twice and then onto my cardstock. The second layer, the very edge of the wings I stamped off onto my scrap paper once and then onto my card stock and then the darkest layer I stamped straight onto the cardstock. So you can get varying shades of colour out of the one ink pad. LOVE THAT!!!

Do you see the gold foil doily just popping out underneath the circle? I love the scalloped edge that the doily gives to the circle. Gold is a shade of yellow, isn't it? I just love gold elements on my creations.  Now to go an find the butterflies body that fell on the floor when I was making this card and for the life of me do you think I can see it! Grr! Hope I can find it!

Make sure you check out the rest of the awesome creations from the other Can You Case it DT peeps! They are a clever and creative bunch! Come and show us your creations using the challenge colours! Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for Stopping By!

Just Add Ink #278 - Just Add Inspiration

This week at Just Add Ink we have an Inspiration pic from Nikki that is perfect for the first week of Spring here in Aust. It's bright, pretty and full of beautiful flowers.

For my card I've picked some colours from the flowers and thought it was fitting to use the stamp set Circle of Spring for the first week of Spring with all its gorgeous flowers!

I stamped the circle on Shimmery White with Mossy Meadow and then used my blender pen to colour the leaves and the flowers. It is then layered on to a circle of Vellum.

The embossing is the new Softly Falling Embossing Folder from the Holiday Catalogue.

It's a gorgeous stamp set! Those flowers are so pretty! And its all finished off with some Burlap Ribbon, White Organza Ribbon, Basic Gold Buttons and the Expressions Natural Elements.

Make sure you check out the rest of the AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink girls. They are all on fire this week! There is something there to inspire everyone! Make sure you show us too what inspired you from the fabulous pic!
