Just Add Ink #255 - Just Add Eggs or Ovals

This week at Just Add Ink we have an Easter inspired challenge suggested by Nikki, being Just Add Eggs or Ovals. I don't own many, if any, Easter stamp sets so it was a perfect time to do a little Punch Art.

The idea for the bunny was not my own, it was CASEd from demo Barb Mullikin from Barb stamps, but the rest of the card was my own. I love punch art and how it makes the Stampin' Up! punches so versatile but I'm not very good at making something out of the different punch shapes.

I sponged the grass with Pear Pizzazz and the sky with Soft Sky. The flowers come from the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

The bunny looks really cute punched out of Whisper White too.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Teams fabulous creations this week.

Stamp Review Crew: Project Life Point & Click Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2015/03/stamp-review-crew-project-life-point.html

It's the third Monday of the month so that means it's time for another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. Hasn't that come around quickly! Feels like we just launched the Sheltering Tree Blog Hop. This hop we are focusing on the Project Life Point and Click Stamp Set. Lots of versatile images to enhance your Project Life Pages.

If you are following round on the hop, I'm #6 on the hop. You may have joined me from the very wonderful Dawn Tidd.Or you may have started he with me. Either way you are in for a creative treat! If you get lost on the hop click on the banner at the top of this post and this will give you the list of all the 'hoppers' in The Stamp Review Crew.

My creation is a bit of a My Digital Studio Hybrid card. That just means that I created part of it in Stampin' Up!'s digital program My Digital Studio (MDS). I don't use MDS all that often but it made it a whole lot easier for my card today.

What I did is used one of the images from the Project Life Point and Click Stamp Set to create my own DSP as such.So by doing it on MDS it was as easy as just copying and pasting to the image repeatedly. All done! Too easy!

I finished off the card with an image from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and some ribbon, gold sequins and linen thread.

Just Add Ink #253 - Just Add Inspriration

This week in an inspiration pic challenge at Just Add Ink. You may choose whatever from the picture that inspires you. It might be the colours, the butterfly, the graphic prints, whatever jumps out at you.   Here's the picture:

And here is my card...

My inspiration actually came from the bed and the way the sheets are folded on the bed. Also from the black and white sheets on the bed. Isn't it weird as to what captures your attention! I thought some of the black and white DSP from the Stacked with Love Paper Pack worked perfectly with the black and white colour combo on the sheets.

I then combined more of the Stacked with Love DSP and continued the card with the colours that come in the paper stack. I finished the card off with tag using some of the stamps from the Perfect Pennants Stamp set.

I just have to say thanks to my upline, Liv Ingle, for helping me with some ideas to finish off the card. I got most of the card together up to the tag and really didn't know what stamp set to use to finish it all off. It just wasn't coming to me. I took a pic of the card, messaged it to her and she came up with some fantastic suggestions! If it wasn't for some of her suggestions I may have ended up with just some DSP on the card and a blank tag. Isn't it two minds are better than one! Thanks Liv!

Quick and Easy Thanks

I know we all love to make the cards with lots of layers, embelishments and pretty things but its really not that hard to whip up a quick note card to let someone know you are thinking of them.

I recently held a party at the end of last month and to let my customers know how much I appreciated them coming to the workshop and placing an order I popped this little note card in with their order.

It took me a whole 5 mins to make the card but I think it speaks volumes as a demonstrator to do these little things for your customers.

It doesn't have to be from a demonstrator to their customers. It can be a little note from a friend, instead of saying 'Thanks' could say 'I'm thinking of you' or something to that effect. Five mins creating and done!

Stamp Review Crew: Sheltering Tree Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2015/03/stamp-review-crew-sheltering-tree.html

It's the first Monday of the month so that means it's time for another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop. Wow March already! This hop we are focusing on the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set. Lots of two-step stamping. Such an awesome set!

If you are following round on the hop, I'm #6 on the hop. You may have joined me from the very creative Ann Schach or you may have started here with me. Where ever you started you are in for a real creative treat! If you get lost on the hop click on the banner at the top of this post and this will give you the list of all the 'hoppers' in The Stamp Review Crew.

This is one of the stamp sets in the Occasions Catalogues that when I first saw it, I gasped! I thought WOW that is stunning and I had to have it! So that was at the top of my must have list when we are able to order from the Occasions catalogue.

I've made one creation for this hop. I've got a few more ideas for this set but they weren't working and I was running out of time. Serves me right for leaving my creations to the last minute. I'll have a bit more of a play and try out those creations when I'm not under pressure to create something and take my time (how I create best!)

I masked off my card with some sheets of printer paper on either side and then I used a post-it note to create a straight line to sponge the grass, using Pear Pizzazz, and the sky, using Soft Sky. I've seen this technique used a lot with other stamp sets but not much for this one.

This is a fantastic set to do those one layer cards (which don't happen very often around here!) and you can use lots of contrasting colours to give the card depth and dimension. And because this stamp set comes only in Photopolymer it makes it very easy to layer the images and get them in the right position! Got to love that!

How cute is that bike??!! I love it and you can make it 'bars' any colour you want because this is two different stamp images to create the bike. I just love it!

To finish the card off I used the butterflies from the Perpetual Birthday Calender set. How good do they look flying by the top of the tree. I thought about using on of the small butterflies from Papillon Potpourri but they seemed too big and then I remembered the butterflies from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set and they were just the right size! Perfect!

I'm off to go and try my other creations while you click on the next blog button below and hop on to the fabulous Mike Funke.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment as we love to hear what you think of our creations!
