Happy Birthday Ash!

My eldest boy recently celebrated his 9th birthday. I usually find male cards quite a challenge. Female cards are easy, add a bit of colour, ribbon and some bling and your done. But males generally don't like all that pretty stuff so I find that when I do make a male, because I haven't added all those pretty things I think that they look underdone.

I actually got inspiration from the wrapping paper that I chose to wrap his presents in this year.

This just screamed to me Chocolate Chip, Island Indigo Bashful Blue, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White. Isn't it funny how we see Stampin' Up! colours in when out and about!

This is the card that I came up with...

I used the Need for Speed stamp set and used the masking technique. I stamped the Lucky Limeade card first, I then stamped the image on a Post-it-Note, cut it out (making sure some of the sticky was still on the back of the image), stuck the Post-it-Note image over the Lucky Limeade car and then inked the stamp up with Bashful Blue and stamped it on the card. The first car then looks like it is in front of the second one and you don't have the other image coming through the first one.

I hope that makes sense. I do have trouble explaining how to do things sometimes. If you would like to see the masking technique in action search it on You Tube.

Thanks For Looking!

Have fun and Happy Stampin'
