Just Add Ink #645 | Just Add No Stamping Challenge

Happy Friday! I'm sharing with you today my latest card for the design team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #645 | Just Add No Stamping Challenge

Yep that's right, our challenge this week is No Stamping. I regularly make a card that has no stamping on it until I have to add a sentiment. This week I used some products that would help me to have no stamping at all.

I used the Stampin' Up! Texture Chic Memories and More Card Pack for today's card. The  pack comes with 50 pre-printed cards of various sizes and then coordinating sticker sheets that are of a similar design to the cards. These cards and stickers make it so quick an easy to put a card together with a coordinated look and design. The flower and leaf image I used on this card has been fussy card from one of the Memories & More cards as I wanted to use just the image but not the background colours that were printed with it. It is easy to make these card designs your own.

I also used some of the Chic Dies that coordinate with the Season of Chic stamp set. Both of thes products also belong to the Texture Chic Suite. Using products from a single suite really adds to a cohesive and put together look for you projects.

The hobnail-glass dots embossing folder is part of a range of products that you can only purchase online from Stampin' Up!. To see these online exclusive products check them out HERE.

I've then finished off the card with some of my favourites - Linen Thread and Pearl Basic Jewels. So pretty.

There are some fantastic creations from the JAI team this week for our No Stamping Challenge. Go to the JAI blog to be inspired and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what you create this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Fancy Friday | Birthday Challenge

Hello stamping friends. It's so great to have you here today. Today I have a project for the Stampin' Fancy Friday Team. If you've not see us before we are a group of past and continuing Stampin’ Up! Artisans bringing our followers a fancy monthly challenge to inspire them to get creative!

This month the challenge is Birthdays. Who doesn't love a handmade birthday card?

The brief was to create a fancy project with a birthday theme! A card, decorations, scrapbook page, etc. Use any Stampin' Up! products.

I've created a birthday card for you today using products from the Texture Chic Suite from the 22 - 23 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue - Pg.98 - 99.

This card was actually made for my mum who celebrated her birthday recently. She loves the colours pink and and aqua and her happy place is being at the beach especially collecting shells. I love that with a handmade card you can customise the card to what the recipient likes and is interested in. It really shows thought and consideration to the recipient.

I've used Basic White for the card base and then layered cardstock and DSP over that using Petal Pink cardstock and then the pink and gold DSP pattern from the Texture Chic Specialty DSP. I've contrasted those pink tones with the Pool Party pattern in the DSP and Pool Party in the stamping of the shells. The Gold and Soft Suede elements also make for a fabulous contrast to the Petal Pink and Pool Party elements.

I've finished off the card with Linen Thread, Pearl Basic Jewels and an embossed sentiment.

Make sure you visit the Stampin' Fancy Friday Instagram and Facebook pages for lots of ideas for this birthday challenge and we hope you'll join in the challenge with us. There are new projects posted nearly every day of the month so be sure to check back to either social media sites for more 'fancy' inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #643 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello stmping friends. Welcome, Welcome. Well its been a little minute since my last card but I'm here today for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #643 | Just Choose Two Challenge. Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing between Blending, Embossing and White. Nice. Which two would you pick?

I've chosen embossing and whiteand then even combined those two elements that I have chosen with White Embossing. I've gone for a very clean and simple (CAS) card with lots of layers. I do love me some layers.

With white being one of our Just Choose Two elements this week it was a given really that I would start the card with a white card base. I'm really loving using a white card base at the moment and then giving the card a little (or a lot) pop of colour.

It's a bit hard to see in the photo here but over the white base layers I added a layer of the spots pattern of the Vellum Basics Specialty DSP. It gives the card that little (albeit subtle) something extra. I love the look of the vellum when you see the card in real life.

I've used some of the floral images from the Stampin' Up! Happieness Abounds stamp set, stamped them with Whisper White Craft Ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Normally I love these open images to colour but I think they look just as stiking stamped and embossed onto cardstock.

Under the Crumb Cake layers I've used the retired Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon. Of all the years that I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I would have to say that the Scalloped Linen Ribbon in the 5 colours that was offered would have to be my all time favourite. Just gorgeous. Layer the ribbon and you really add that something special to any project. Pity you can't purchase it anymore.

I've then finished the card off with some Crumb Cake splatters, linen thread, Basic Pearls and a sentiment from the retired stamp set Itty-Bitty Greetings.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Just Add Ink #639 | Colour Challege

Hello, Hello.  It's time for a new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #628 |Colour Challenge. This weeks colour combo has been suggested by fellow JAI Design Team Member - Jan. This week we are using Polished Pink, Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis.

What a gorgeous colour combo! Looks so bight and summery. Love it!

I've used the three challenge colours with lots of Basic White for a fun and fresh looking Birthday card.

I cut 0.7cm X 10.5cm strips of each colour and arranged them on the card base. To keep the strips straight I actually measured a line in the middle of the cardstock and then arranged them from there rather than starting at the top and working my way down.

I used the large die from the Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora Dies in Basic White and then trimmed it to the size of my striped layer. You can make a boarder when you cut the die though your cardstock but the die cut layer hung over my striped layer too much and didn't fit in with my measurements hence the reason to trim it down.

I created my own white boarder around the die cut layer just using strips of cardstock. I then finished the card off with an embossed 'Happy Birthday', White Baker's Twine and some Basic Pearls. Because the stripes and the die cut layers are quite busy I though that is all that the card needs to give it that something extra with out being too much.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have lots of amazing creations for you and to show you their take on this weeks challenge colours. You'll be surprised at all the different projects we came up with. There is something for everyone. We hope that you'll join in this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see you join in and to see your take on the colour challenge.

Just Add Ink #637 | Sketch Challenge

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today, we over at Just Add Ink have a new challenge for you - Just Add Ink #637 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fun sketch for you designed by fellow JAI team member - Tina.

It's a basic sketch design but has a lot of scope for you to make this sketch your own and shock, horror, I didn't stray much from the sketch at all this week, which is very unusual for me.

In our Just Add Ink blog hop last week I was reminded of the amazing Hues of Happiness DSP that is in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, from Di Barnes gorgeous project. I'd almost forgotten that I had it and really wanted to use it on my project this week. Thanks for the reminder Di.

Because the DSP has lots of bright and fun colours I really wanted my background layers to be Basic White. The colours in the DSP look brighter and bolder against the white and really pop off the card. I then used two stips of Basic White cardstock and crossed them across the card as per the sketch.I then flicked some Fresh Freesia ink over the Basic White for a little extra something.

The flowers I then fussy cut from the Hues of Happienss DSP and arranged them on the card under the die cut circle. It really is a CAS card but the the amazing art work from the DSP makes making a beautiful card easy. The simplicity of the card makes it quite stunning. One of those less is more situations.

The stamped flower on the Fresh Fressia circle comes from the Happiness Abounds Stamp set and the Happy Birthday is from the Cottage Rose Stamp set.

I've finished the card off with some linen thread and some Retired In Colour Jewels.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. I love to see how everyone has a different creation all using the same sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #636 Blog Hop | Just Add Your Favourite Challenge

Hello, hello, hello!  Happy Friday! Welcome and thank you for joining me on my blog today. I've  just had a very well deserved and much needed Christmas Break with my family and some time away camping in our caravan. Lots of fun in the sun, stand up paddle boarding, swimming in the lake, swimming at the beach, boating, knee-boarding, 4WD, reading a few books and lots of all-round summer fun! Was so good to be away in the great outdoors of Australia. Back to reality now.

Over at Just Add Ink, to kick off the first challenge for the year we are commencing 2023 with a blog hop to go with the new challenge. Our theme for this hop and the challenge is 'Just Add Your Favourite'. I love this theme and how much scope it gives you for your project. I could have made a few different projcts with this fantastic theme.

If you've been following along here for a while you would be able to pick what my favourites would be just by looking at my card. For all the newere folk around here one of my most absolute favourite things on a card is Black and White Stripes. I don't know what it is about black and white stripes that I love so much but when I see them on anything I'm a sucker for it and have to have it.

The other things that are my favourites on my projects are florals, anything pink, any colouring medium (I've used water colour with a Water Painter here today), Vellum, Linen Thread, and Pearls (my birth stone). All these things put together make for a goreous and pretty card and I don love me a pretty card.

I cut the black and white 1cm strips using my paper trimmer and then used the stamped images and dies from the Stampin' Up! Framed Florets bundle for the other elements on the card.

I think this card would look fabulous recreated in different colours. Might have to try those ideas on my next projects.

Next up on the blog hop is Kerry Bunting with her amazing creation. Make sure you click your way around to everyone on the hop as there are lots of gorgeous creations and lots of different takes on our 'Just Add Your Favourite' theme.

Just Add Ink #634 | Just Add Anything But a Card Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #634 | Just Add Anything But a Card Challenge

I love this weeks challenge. It has gotten me thinking about making things other than cards and gettting me to rememeber how much I love making 3-D items, which I haven't done much at all this year.

I've gone with some super quick and super easy Origami Boxes. Perfect for that last minute gift that needs some quick and cute gift packaging. These boxes use one sheet of 12" x 12" paper and when they are all folded together you don't need any adhesive to hold them together, but you can if you want to.

I have made these before a few years ago but thought it was great to revisit them. To see how to make them follow this You Tube tutorial. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy these boxes are! And you don't have to use a full 12"x12" sheet. You just have to make sure that your starting piece of paper is square. Just bare in mind that the smaller the paper you start with the smaller your box will be. Perfect to customise for any gift.

I've used the Santa Express 12" x 12" DSP for the Boxes and the belly bands and then used some coordinating cardstock to finish off the belly band.

The tags are die cut using the Seasonal Labels Dies and embossed with a retired Stampin' Up! Embossing Folder #useyourstash and the Merry Christmas is cut from the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set.

All finished off with some retired white ribbon and some linen thread. I think with this bright, fun and busy DSP less is more for a clean and classic look.

Why not give these boxes a go? They are the perfect way to use some of that DSP that you have collected (hoarded) in your crafting stash.

There are lots of fantastic creations from the JAI team this week and they aren't all 3-D items so there will be lots of inspiration for our Anything But a Card Challenge. Go to the JAI blog to be inspired and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what you create this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
