Yep! I'm still here!

Oops! Well hasn't it been a while between posts. I'm still here, still crafting and still creating! I just wanted to show you all something that I made for a paper crafting show that I've been a part of over this last weekend.

Myself and 3 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators worked (tirelessly, I must add!) to create a beautiful display of the wonderful products for a local paper crafting show. I will do a post of the display next week but I wanted to show one of the things that I made for the show.

I found a beautiful light pink shadow box frame at a local stationary shop here in Australia, Typo, and was going to fill it with punched out butterflies. But when I got it home I thought why not fill it up with some beautiful roses made with the new Spiral Flower Die from the Occasions Catalogue.

Once I started cutting out the flowers I then though 'Wouldn't it be beautiful to create and ombre type effect with the flowers and graduate the colours'. So that's what I did!

I used 2 die cuts for each flower to make them look a little fuller. The colours that I used were Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red. Once the show is finished it will make a nice decoration in my daughters room I think. I just love it!

Mojo Monday #334

It's Mojo Monday Challenge time again! This week is tall and skinny week!

Here is the sketch...

And here is my card...

I saw this colour combo on Pinterest, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Pool Party and Pacific Point. I started making the card with Pacific Point on it as well but it just wasn't working (in my eye). I got rid of the Pacific Point and just used the other three colours and it looked so much better.

Team Colour Challenge

My upline gave us three different colour combinations for our team challenge this week. This one was to use Crisp Canteloupe, Smokey Slate, and Pistachio Pudding. These are some very underrated colours and they look stunning when all used together.

The Crisp Cantaloupe DSP (Sweet Sorbet),the cork flowers and the twine are all from the current Sale-a-bration brochure. They are just so pretty!

Just Add Ink Challenge # 202 Just Add Stripes

I know! Two posts in one day is a little crazy but I got on a bit of a creative roll and just kept going! I decided to join in the challenge for this week at Just Add Ink. It's been a while since I have joined in there but I couldn't resist this weeks challenge, which is Just Add Stripes.

I just love the Sale-a-bration Banner Blast stamp set! It's too cute and I love that it has a co-ordinating punch! Even better!

You can punch out the little flowers from this stamp set using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack! Saves using the scissors!

Mojo Monday Challenge #332

Oops! I certainly haven't been on here for a looooooooooooooooooong time! And I'm so sorry! Sometimes my life takes over and I don't get a chance to always blog my creations!

Well I'm going to say I'm back and I'll be making more of an effort to regularly post my creations on here!

I find the best way to get out of that creative slump that we get stuck in sometimes, is to participate in a challenge and I love the challenges over at Mojo Monday! I love their sketches and regularly use their past sketches to sometimes get that creative ball rolling!

This is the sketch for this week

And this is my interpretation of the sketch...

This sketch challenge is combined with a colour challenge from my Stampin' Up! upline to use the colours Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. Loving the colour combo!

And loving the gold sequin trim! Think that will be my new 'thing'!

Mojo Monday #317

Well it certainly has been a while since I've posted on here. Life took over a  bit and I've had a bit of a creative slump. When that slump happens I like to do some challenges and that usually gets the creative juices going.
I love the sketches at the Mojo Monday blog and this weeks one is fantastic!

A round or a square card! Both of them I don't use very much! I chose a square one and I've used a stamp set that caught my eye as soon as I saw it! Stampin' Up!'s Santa's List.

Isn't he just adorable! I love the vintage feel of the image and you could enhance him a little more by adding a bit of colour either with a blender pen or an aqua painter!.

Let's hope this has got my creative thoughts going! On to the next project!

Mojo Monday #311 - Papillion Sympathy

I never really enjoy making Sympathy cards. I don't think you will find someone out there who does. It's does make it easier to have some on hand when you do need one though.

This card I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #311. I'm using the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and the co-ordinating Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punches.

I wanted to use a bit of colour but not to make it to bright. I turned to my Colour Coach and the colours suggested were Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand.
