Just Add Ink #393 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to my first blog post for 2018 and for a new colour challenge for this week over at Just Add Ink.

I've been wanting to create and blog for you all but I've been away on a summer holiday for a couple of weeks with my family and then my daughter last week had her tonsils removed and I really couldn't think much past that and her surgery and then recovery.

We had a much needed break and came back well rested and we are now 9 days post-surgery and my daughter, it is safe to say, is pretty much back to her normal self.  I'm very thankful that the surgery went well but the recovery has been very stressful for for the whole family. It's so hard to see your kids in pain and distress. I'm am very thankful that it's still summer holidays here for the kids and we didn't have to get out and about for our normal school routine.

We've got a bright and fun Colour Challenge for you using the Stampin' Up! colours - Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Crumb Cake.

I've layered some DSP, Ribbon and Trim that come in the challenge colours and teamed it up with the new Sale-a-bration Celebrate You Thinlits Dies that you can get for FREE when you spend $180 on products from the Stampin' Up! Annual and Occasions Catalogue.

The Tranquil Tide DSP layer comes from the Delightful Daisy DSP pack from the Annual Catalogue. It's a beautiful sheet of DSP with sections of full strength colour graduating to a lighter strength in colour to give that washed out look. Super pretty! I then layered a Whisper White Piece over the DSP which I stamped in Crumb Cake Ink using the dots image from the Petal Palette Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue. Then creates my own 'DSP' as such. I love making my own backgrounds and they are easy to do!

I've then layered on the card some Linen Thread, another piece of the Delightful Daisy DSP, Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and then Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon. The 'Celebrate' die cut comes from the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies which I half embossed with Silver Embossing Powder for a fun look. Just use a sponge dauber to sponge some Versamak Ink over your die cut word, sprinkle your embossing powder over, shake off the excess and then using your heat tool, heat up the powder till it melts. Super easy!

The card is then embellished with some more ribbon and trim, Silver Metallic Thread and then some sequins from the Metallics assortment pack.

It's a fun colour combo and the Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist just pop right off that white background. Check out the rest of the fabulous creations from the Just Add Ink gals with this weeks colours! Lots of fun and fabulous creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
