Just Add Ink #322 - Just Add Colour

Welcome, welcome, welcome to another Just Add Ink Challenge. This week the JAI team have a fabulous colour challenge for you incorperating one of the new Stampin' Up! 2016 - 2018 In Colours and some oldies but goodies. The colours for this challenge were suggested by yours truly! So if you have any trouble with them blame me! Ha!

I actually saw this combination from some suggestions on Pinterest for the In Colours. This one just jumped right out at me. I think its the pinks and browns that do it! They grab me every time. I'm not normally a Very Vanilla person but I really love it in this combination!

I've used the 'Love' stamp from the Scenic Sayings stamp set to created my own 'DSP' as such. The most fabulous thing about the background layer is that it is all random stamping. No measuring, no lining up, not stamp-a-ma-jig. Nothing. Its a bit like, us Aussies will know, when they sang the song on Playschool, "Put a spot over here, and a spot over there, put a spot on your ear ..." Ha! Well maybe not in your ear but you get the idea.

Some of the Love's were stamped off once first and some of them were stamped in full strenght ink. I love the gradation of colour that the ink gave either being stamped off or in full strength. It almost looks like I've used 6 ink colours not 3.

Do you see those dots of colour that look like paint drops? Those are the new enamel shapes from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. These are FABULOUS!!!!! They come in 2016 - 2018 In Colours, Brights, Regals, Subtles and a pack of Metallics that includes Gold and Silver. They are so pretty, shinny and really give that something special to your cards. I LOVE them!!!

I've given the background a splatter of the Gold Wink of Stella. I love the small drop of sparkle that it gives to your creations. I learn't a tip with the splattering today, instead of using your fingernail to flick the Wink of Stella, use the lid. Sara Douglass, Stampin' Up! CEO, did a live facebook demo on Wednesday morning and mentioned that little tip. I almost had a light bulb moment in my head when she mentioned that and did say out loud 'Of course'. If you have ever tried to flick the Gold Wink of Stella with your fingernail it leaves an unsightly brown stain around your cuticles (well it does for me) and it really looks like you haven't cleaned your hands properly, if you know what I mean! So to be able to flick the Gold Wink with out getting that brown stain is a bonus for me.

Can you see in the photo the slight shimmer and sparkle the Gold Wink gives? I think I've been able to catch a little of that shimmer in the photo and to show you the pretty sparkle. So sparkly!

Be sure to check out the inspiration from the rest of the team here and why not play along with us? Looking forward to see your creations with these colours!

Global Design Project #045 | #GDP045 | Birthday Bloom Colour Challenge

Hello everyone! A happy Wednesday to you! I've had few spare moments this week just to play and create. Not to create for my Design Team commitments but to create just because. That doesn't happen that often. So with my kids at school, hubby at work I got some uninteruped crafting time today! Yay! I thought I would create for one of my favourite challenge blogs - Global Design Project, #GDP045.They have a fabulous colour challenge this week, bright and fun with a few neutrals too.
Make sure you click on the link to see all the fabulous inspiration from the fabulous Design Team at GDP. They are one talented bunch over there!

With these stunning colours, I thought creating with the Pop of Pink DSP would suit this challenge perfectly. I've only used a couple of the designs from Pop of Pink DSP. I did try and incorperate some of the other designs but sometimes less is more, right?  How gorgeous is the Melon Mambo sheet with the white polka dots? So pretty!

I heat embossed the floral image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set using the White Stampin' Emboss Powder on vellum cardstock. I then fussy cut out the image using the Stampin' Up! Paper Snips. Those things are sharp and are the best scissors for fussy cutting. I swear by them they are that good!

One of the banners on the top right is acutally from the co-ordinating Pop of Pink washi tape. I stuck a small piece of the washi tape on Basic Black card stock and then I used the Banner Punch to punch out a small banner.

How fabulous does that 'Congrats' look cut out of Basic Black. I love how bold it is and how it jumps out right at you off the card. That is one of the words you get in the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies. I'm so loving the font of these words. I'm sure you will see them in more of my creations. Love them!!!
I hope that I've inspired you today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamp Review Crew | Endless Thanks Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2016/07/stamp-review-crew-endless-thanks-edition.html

It's time for a little thankfulness over at the the Stamp Review Crew. Today we have some very special creations using the Endless Thanks stamp set. If you are joining us for the first time we are a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators showcasing one stamp set at a time, every first and third Monday's of the month. Be sure to make your way around the hop by click the next button at the bottom of each post. There ar 11 hoppers all up eager to show you our creations of thanks. If you get lost along the way click the banner at the top of the post and that will give you a list of all the hoppers

If you came from Jess's blog, thank you for clicking on.

The Endless Thanks stamp set is one of those sets with mainly sentiments and a few gorgeous little images making it a very versatile set. The sentiments also have a mix of fonts giving a soft and modern look. It is very reasonably priced, at $28 (AUD) it wont cost you much to get you on your way to geting some 'Thank You' cards made.

I've started my creation with a bold and bright watercolour wash background using Flirty Flamingo. Its very bright and really gives that 'pop' of colour to the background and really makes it stand out. I layed down a few layers of colour to give it that variation of colour.

I've then used the flower images and the banner image over top of the Gold Glimmer Swirly Scribbles die cut to make it look like a wreath.

I've layered the flower image with a portion of the leaves from the Florish Thinlits, Burlap Ribbon, Very Vanilla Lace Trim and some Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon. In the center of the flower I've used a Metallic Enamel Shape to finish off the flower.

Why not send a random card of thanks to someone who you come across through out your day and spread more thankfulness throughout the world. I'm sure the recipient will appreciate that you took the time to show your appreciation!

Now on to the super fabulous Wendy Weixler . If you are hoping in reverse click on the previous blog button to head on back to the wonderful, Jessica Williams.

TGIF Challenges #64 - Summer Time and Sunshine

It has come around to that time again when we have another challenge for you over at TGIF Challenges. This week  we have a theme challenge for you all about summer and the sunshine. I can certainly say that I'm really not feeling it as here in Australia we are smack, bang right in the middle of winter and in Melbourne here we are currently experiencing some of the coldest weather we've had for 10 years! So at the moment I'm dreaming and wishing of those long, hot summer days and everything that goes with it. It's a good time to be indoors and crafting though. Only 7 weeks left of winter, only 7 weeks left of winter, only 7 weeks left of winter .....

I've used some of the DSP from the paper stack Serene Scenery for my Summer inspired creation. This one caught my eye especially. This one felt very summery to me. The sun shining in the background, the long tufts of grass ready to be cut for hay, could even be reeds in a sand dune by the beach. It just had that feel of a long, hot summer day with the sun beating down. It also reminded me of that scene in the movie Gladiator where Russell Crowe's character is walking through the field, all you can see is him running his hand though the long tall grass with the sun beating down on him on a gorgeous sunny day. All those things all scream summer to me.

This DSP stack is amazing! It has one side that is patterned and then the other side includes photographic artwork. Its so life like and the realism of it just jumps right off the paper.

Of course I had to use the 'Sunshine' from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. What's a summery card without some sunshine. The leaves come from the Florish Thinlits. I think these are going to be my go to leaves for anything that needs some leaves on it. Just love how delicate and intricate they are.

Its all finished with a Coppper embossed 'Hello' from the stamp set that co-ordinates with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Sunshine Sayings and some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. Because the DSP is so stunning I wanted for you to be able to see as much of it as possible and not cover it all up with too many embellishments and trim.
Now on to see what sheet of the Serene Scenery DSP I can use next1

Hope you can join us this week at TGIF and show us your summer creations!

Just Add Ink #320 - Best Birds Sketch

Hello to you and a big welcome back! The Just Add Ink team are ready to go with another fabulous sketch challenge just for you! Sketch challenges are my all time fav! Love the starting point that they give you and then you just have to jump off from there and get creating!

So I've had this set, Best Birds, since the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue went live but this is the first time I've had a proper create with it. And of course I had to do some water colouring with it! When stamp sets like this one have open images in it I just have to get that Aqua painter out and get colouring!

I started with the base layer of the card sponging a very soft and very faint ombre look using Mint Macaron ink and then built the card up from there.

The vellum circles are the new Layering Circles Framelits. They layer so beautifully together and the scallop edge is so pretty! I've then embossed the cross-hatch image on the vellum using the copper embossing powder. Gosh that stuff is gorgeous!!!

When the larger 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon was retired from the last catalogue I thought 'What am I going to use now?' but after using the new Burlap Ribbon on a few of my recent creations I'm now like 'What 1-1/4" Burlap ribbon?'. Ha! Loving the new trims and the lace and the burlap go so well together.

Head on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see what the fabulous Design Team have come up with this week to provide you with inspiration and while you are there check out all the details on how you can enter your creation.

Stamp Review Crew | Flourishing Phrases

Big Hello and Happy Monday to you! Welcome to another Stamp Review Crew Bog Hop. Thank you so much for stopping by to see what the Crew have for you. We are a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators showcasing one stamp set at a time, every first and third Monday's of the month. Today we have the wonderful, sentiment filled set Flourishing Phrases with the Flourishing Thinlits.

Mine is just a quick card today and I wanted to keep it fairly simply being a Sympathy Card and not be too overdone. I'm so loving the leaves from the Thinlits set and thought they would be perfect for a Sympathy card. They are delicate, detailed and so intricate and just all round pretty!

There are many words and sentiments in the stamp set for nearly every occasions, so you will have all your occasions covered in one stamp and thinlits set.

I've used the new layering circles for the vellum layer and then I've finally has a play with some of the new copper embellishments. I can't believe its taken me this long to get those out. They copper embossing powder and the copper metallic thread were two of the things that I was most excitd about when the new Annual catalogue started. They are certainly going to get alot of use from now on.

My card is all finished off with some new Lace Trim and some of the new Burlap Ribbon. I love the simple elegance of the card and by layering a few of the elements it doesn't take long to get a beautful card created.

I'm also entering this card in the challenge over at Global Design Project #GDP042 and their fabulous sketch. I do love a sketch challenge and I just couldn't resisit.

I hope that I've inspired you with this set and you'll start creating with it too.

Now on to the super fabulous and super amazing Jessica Williams. I'm always so inspired by her creations. If you are hoping in reverse click on the previous blog button to head on to the wonderful, Holly Krautkremer.

The Inkreators Blog Hop | New Annual Catalogue

Welcome to another INKreator Blog hop. We went on a short hiatus due to our fearless leader, Liv, having her second child, a little boy. He is super cute and we are all so super happy for Liv and the wonderful new addition to her family.

So we are back with the blog hops and in this hop we are showing some of the all new, all fabulous products from the Stampin' Up! 2016 - 2017 Annual Catalogue.

I've chosen to have a create with the oh so gorgeous stamp set Fairy Celebration. I fell in love with this set as soon as I set my eyes on it when I first looked through my catalogue. I also knew that my 7 year old daugher would love it too. She is actually waiting for me to stamp a heap of the fairy images for her so she can colour them in too.

I've only used 2 of the 3 fairy images and I've gone to what I love to do the most when I craft, water colour!!!

I've used the Shimmery White cardstock as my base. I find that doesn't bleed as much as the watercolur paper when laying down layers of colour. It aslo makes for a beautiful shimmery look that goes perfectly with the fairies. I also prefer to use and Aqua painter over the Blender Pens as I find I get a better coloured image with the Aqua painters over the Blender Pens but that is just a personal preference.
I'm loving these cards and I think that if I don't save one for my daughters birthday in September, I know I'm going to be in a whole lot of trouble from her.

Next on the hop is the ever fabulous Lauren and her creations using some of the new and amazing In Colours. I'm sure you wont be dissapointed.

TGIF Challenges #62 - Floral Boutique

Hooray for Friday! The first day of July and what a fabulous way to kick off a new month, then with a challenge from the TGIF gang!

This week being a colour challenge of Red, White and Blue, I thought it would be a fantastic time to pull out the ever beautiful, ever stunning Floral Boutique DSP, which is Night of Navy and Whisper White and team it up with some pops of red.

I've kept my card quite simple this week with lots of layers as the DSP is quite busy.  It is so pretty and floraly (if that is a word) and is so stunning in just the two colours.

I've teamed it with Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Watermelon Wonder Classic ink and personally I think the colour combination looks stunning together. Its really hard to see in the photo but on the Whisper White panel I've splattered Clear Wink Of Stella for something fun and sparkly.

I'm really looking forward to creating more with this DSP and with the Detailed Floral Thinlits that are also part of the Floral Boutique Suite.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend and even get some time to do some crafting! I'm looking forward to seeing your name linked up to the challenge and to see what you do with the challenge colours!

Just Add Ink #318 - Just Add 'S'

Hello, Hello! Big welcome and hello to you today! Here's to the weekend and to another Just Add Ink Challenge.  This week we have one of our more popular challenges using a letter of the alphabet. This week its Just Add 'S'.

I love these challenges because they show a whole range of creativity using the letter of the challenge as your guideline.
I've used for the first time my Sunshine Sayings Bundle, with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. There are lots of words and seniments in the stamp set. Perfect to make up your favourite sentiment. I love the thinlits dies. The font of the words have a fun and modern feel and the heart and flower die make for some fun and funky elements to your creations.

I started with die cutting the floral die out of water colour paper. I wanted to colour the die and give it a washed look. The water colour paper teamed with and Aqua Painter made it easy to colour it with Daffodil Delight and Garden Green.

I then made my card base out of Shimmery White cardstock, another 'S' element and layered some vellum over it embbossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder
I then layered some Kraft cardstock, embossed with the Large Polka Dots and added a strip of the Daffodil Delight DSP from the 12" x 12" DSP stacks.

How bright and fun does the 'sunshine' look cut out of Daffodil Delight cardstock. It just 'pops' right off the card. Just looking at it makes me long for the warmer days of spring and summer and really hoping that winter will be over soon.

You really must pop over to the blog and check out all the other Just Add Ink DT's cards. There really is something for everyone with all the different creations! While you are there check out all the details on how to enter your creation.

I'm so looking forward to seeing all your creations and whatever 'S' inspires you!
