Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Case the Occasions Catty Challenge

Hello Stamping Friends! Welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop. This months challenge is inspired by the Occasions Catalogue! Select a project and recreate it in your own way! Some of the creations that may inspire you are found on pages 6, 22, 41 and 46.

 If you've not hopped with us before we are a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Members. We still love blog hopping together so have a blog hop once a month with everything fun and fancy and showing what we love!

 I was inspired by the little note card found on pg 22 of the Occasions Catalogue but recreated/CASED (copy and selectively edit) it with some products from the Share What You Love Suite that will be available to customers come May 1st.

I ended up making 12 little note cards in 3 different designs and then will bundle them up together to make a cute, handmade gift. Might even be fantastic as a hostess gift for your upcoming workshop, especially through May when the Share What You Love promotion is running. I'm not sure what caught my eye about this little note card, but I really liked the layout of it.

I used the floral and leaf images from the Love What You Do stamp set but kept the same layout for each little 3"x3" note card. The Rich Razzleberry flower in the middle I stamped on to Shimmery White cardstock and then just used my aqua painted to move the ink around before it completely dried.

Each note card has a layer of the beautiful Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, a square die-cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and then embossed with the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder. I love the look of the embossed square die-cut and that it only shows a part of the impressions from the embossing folder.

All of the cards have the 'Thank' again from the Love What You Do stamp set. When stamping the 'Thank' covered up the You from the stamp with some washi tape so I could eliminate the you when stamping down the 'Thank'. The 'You' on all the cards comes for one of my most used stamp sets - Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I love the mixture of the two fonts for a fun and different look.

Because the cards are quite busy with the DSP, embossing and then the cut out images it really only needed the Share What you Love Artisan Pearls to finish them all off.

You could make a little box to put these cards in or just tie them together with some beautiful ribbon for a beautiful note card set.

Why don't you look through any of the Stampin' Up! catalogues and use the projects as your next inspiration for your next creation. You'll be surprised as to what catches your eye and how you can change it up to make it your own.

Global Design Project 134 | #GDP134 | Sketch Challenge | New Products Sneak Peek

Hi there stamping friends! Happy Friday! I hope that you are having a fabulous day! I've just received a BBB, code in the Stampin' Up! world for Big Brown Box, full of amazing new goodies due for release in the next couple on months. So with these amazing goodies I thought I would use some of them and play along with the Global Design Project - #GDP134. And they have my most favourite challenge - a sketch challenge.

I'm always a huge fan of a sketch challenge, so if I can get an opportunity to partake, I'm in! This sketch is fabulous for the challenge this week.  Here is my card and interpretation of the sketch with 6 Sneak Peek products on it.

I started with a Mint Macaron base and some stamping of the floral image around the border using the Love What You Do Stamp Set from the Share What You Love Suite, that customers can order 1st May 2018 ahead of the Catalogue Release. 

I suppose that you have heard the news of a Colour Revamp happening at Stampin' Up! when the new 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalogue starts come June 1st and Mint Macaron is coming back!!!! Happy dance happening here!!!! Lucky I still had some cardstock and the ink pad from when it was an In Colour from 2105 - 2017. Pays to be a hoarder sometimes! 

On the Mint Macaron base is a piece of the OH SO STUNNING and OH SO BEAUTIFUL Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. Can you tell I'm loving this paper? Ha! These laser-cut sheets are vanilla on one side and white on the other. One of the designs is a huge 12" x 12" pattern and the other designs have been made to cut out each section to embellish your cards. Love, Love, Love!!!

I've layered some vellum under the Laser-Cut paper to create a soft look and feel to the card. You could just let the cardstock colour show underneath the Laser-Cut paper for another fun look. I think the vellum really adds to the whole 'pretty' theme to the card.

Other new products on this card is a piece of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon, Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, and some Baker's Twine and a Silver Adhesive-backed Rose from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.

Just Add Ink #405 | Inspiration Picture

Hello stamping friends! Another Friday, another Just Add Ink Challenge. A gorgeous inspiration challenge suggested by the fabulous Kelly Kent. What ever inspires you from the picture, use that as the basis for your creation and then go from there! The colours in the picture are rich, deep and luxurious with lots of timber features and loads of texture! I would love to have a rustic hideaway like this that's for sure!

I loved all that wood panelling in the picture and if you look real closely there is a vase on the bedside table with some gorgeous flowers in it. While the flowers in the picture are white I was in a colouring mood when making this card so I pulled out the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers.

My card is a bit of a mix of Retiring Products, Products that are carrying over and some brand new ones too that you can get 1st June once the amazing 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalouge starts.

The gorgeous stamp set Birthday Blossoms is on the Retiring List, so get it while stocks last, and is fabulous for colouring. Either with the clustter of little flowers on the opposite corner of the card or the bigger bloom next to the sentiment! Super fun to colour and so easy to do with the Stampin' Blends.

I layered the front Whisper White panel on the fabulous Wood Textures DSP, thank goodness it's carrying over, and then also used a piece of the DSP, layering it with the Daffodil Delight Ribbon and the beautiful birthday sentiment.

Have you seen the little bit of the Peralized Doilies?? These will be coming out in the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and they are STUNNING, just sayin'! They have a pearlescent lustre on one side and just plain white on the other. The white side makes it perfect for you to customise it to the colour you want. Can't wait for you to get them too!

Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop | Magical Day

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to another Stamp to Share Design Team Blog Hop. Stamp to share is a monthly blog hop featuring Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Stampin' Up! markets around the world. Once a month we feature projects made with one Stampin' Up! bundle to inspire you.

This month we are hoping with the very popular Magical Day Bundle featuring the world of mythical creatures and magical creations. This bundle is super cute and super fun and can be used for any occasion.

I've combined a rainbow of cardstock with the fun unicorn image from the Magical Day stamp set. Rainbows and unicorns go together, right?

I cut strips of Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder and then arranged them down the card for the rainbow look. Then with those same colours I coloured in the mane and tail of the unicorn using and aqua painter and picking up the colour out of the ink pad.

I stamped the star image over the card using Versamark and embossed it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Over that I flicked Clear Wink of Stella for a fun sparkly look and then embellished the card with Silver Bakers Twine, Silver Metallic Thread and Silver Sequins.

While my card might be simple in its creation, I love all the colour and the bright fun rainbow look. Why not try and put some colours together to create your own rainbow colours.

Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Paper Perfect Challenge

Hello and welcome stamping friends! And welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop. If you've not hopped with us before we are a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Members. We have a blog hop once a month with everything fun and fancy and showing what we love!

This month we are sharing some DSP love by using one of the fabulous new Designer Series Paper from the 2018 Occasion Catalogue. I've chosen to create with the super gorgeous, super pretty Sweet Soiree DSP.

It is stunning!!! Have you ever wished a DSP would carry over from an Occasions Catalogue to the Annual one?? I wish this one would. The silver foil adds beautiful texture to these handpainted designs. There are silver foil accents on one side and colourful printed images on the other.  
 

I've made a Pop Up Gift Card Holder/birthday card today using lots of this gorgeous DSP, with a gorgeous belly band to hold the gift card holder shut.

One of the co-ordinating colours in the DSP pack is the beautiful blue, Marina Mist. While I haven't used this colour in a while, I thought it would be gorgeous as the card base colour. I really should use this colour more as it really is gorgeous!

I've kept the card front and the inside of the Gift Card Holder fairly plain and let the DSP do all the embellishing! With its beautiful hand painted patterns and the stunning silver foil it really doesn't need much else to go with it.

The Pop-Up Gift card holder is really quite simple to make, just making a card base, decorating it on  the inside, making two squares for the pop up mechanism and a small envelope to hold your gift card. I got the tutorial for this Gift Card Holder from SplitCoast Stampers but if you would like to make this one too just click HERE for the full tutorial.

To make to envelope I used the Envelope Punch Board and make the gift card sized envelope. I trimmed the top flap off and then trimmed the envelope to make it a bit smaller as it was too tall for my gift card. To make the circle in the top just use your 1 3/8" Circle punch, slide your envelope half way into the punch and cut the semi circle so that you can easily pull the gift card out. How gorgeous does that DSP look on the inside?? 

The belly band is a 1" strip of the Marina Mist card stock wrapped around the Gift Card Holder and then embellished with various products that co-ordinate from the Sweet Soiree Suite from the Occasions Catalogue - Silver Bakers Twine, Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit, Sweet Cake Framelits Dies , Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon and the Cake Soiree Stamp Set. Pretty, Pretty, Pretty!!!

The embellishment on the belly band would look great on a card on it's own!

Due to the fact that there isn't much room to write a message on the inside, you could write a message on the back or slip a note on the inside like what I have done. Now to get this Gift Card in the post in time for a friends birthday.  Let's hope she loves this as much as what I do!

Just Add Ink #401 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to another new and wonderful challenge from Just Add Ink. A fun sketch from fellow team member Tina do we have for you this week!

I've pretty much followed the sketch to the 'T', which is unlike me, but if you want to change it up a bit why not turn the sketch on its side to the landscape position for a different look.

I've used the Stampin' Up! True Gentleman DSP as the focal point for my card today. I love the bold, rich, luxurious feel that this paper gives. Really creates that smart, elegant and sophisticated look to any card.

The stamped sentiment comes from the Truly Tailored Stamp set that also co-ordinates with the DSP from the same True Gentleman Suite in the 2108 Occasions Catalogue. To get that rich inking of the Night of Navy Classic Ink I lined up the stamp and the cardstock on the Stamparatus stamp placement tool, inked up the stamp and stamped it down and then just kept re-inking and stamping till you get that deep, rich colour. The beauty about the Stamparatus is that if you don't get the ink stamped down with the right amount of coverage you just keep re-inking and stamping as nothing moves out of place and you don't have to line everything up every time. Boom! Makes it so easy! 

Also from the same product Suite is the Oh So Gorgeous Corduroy Ribbon. That stuff is beautiful and also adds to that rich and luxurious feel of this suite. Hopefully we will see this ribbon in some more colours as it's amazing! Also for some more gorgeous embellishment are those stunning True Gentleman Buttons. The team up so well with the Linen Thread.

To finish off the card I teamed up some ribbon and embellishments from the Annual Catalogue that have some of the same colours in the DSP - Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon and the Mini Tassels Assortment. Super fun!

I'm loving these thinlits dies and the are so versatile for any project. It even looks good to use some of the word dies together.

I made a card last week using the Amazing You Stamp set where I coloured in the flower image and created a card with a really clean look, check it out HERE. I enjoyed colouring in the flower and creating that clean look that I wanted to try and make something similar again for today's card.

While the coloured flower and clean look are similar the whole feel to the card is completely different.

I've started with laying a Smoky Slate Base and then using a Gold Foil Circle, I embossed what I would call the sunrise image, using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder for that gold on gold look. If you haven't embossed Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder on Gold Foil Sheets before you must try it because it really is a gorgeous, classic and classy look! 

I've used again on of my mos favourite products at the moment, the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit and used one of the Vellum/Silver Foil die cuts. I'm so loving these vellum die cuts with the silver embossing. Just pop them out and layer them with your other favourite products and hey presto you've got your card pretty done! Got to love a quick card that looks gorgeous too!

I've layered on top of the Vellum/Silver Foil die cut my favourite leaf die from the Flourish Thinlits Dies. I love to leave all the little 'pieces' in the leaf. You can still see all the detail in leaf but it just makes for a different look. And then on top of that the flower image embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Shimmery White and then coloured with Blushing Bride Ink using an Aqua Painter.

The Basic Black 'You' makes for a bold look and then the little 'For' comes from the Cake Soiree Stamp Set embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The black sequins and Gold Metallic thread finish off the classy clean look.
