Inspired by 'Frozen'

My daughter and my niece both celebrated their birthday's last week, turning 6 and 7. What do most 6 and 7 year old girls love at the moment? Anything to do with the Disney movie 'Frozen'.

I made them both the same card inspired by the character Elsa. I got the idea for the 'Elsa' dress from fellow demonstrator Kelly Kent. Check out her Elsa card here.

This is my version!

The dress is made with the retired Dress Up framelits. This is a set of framelits that I will never sell, that's for sure!

To decorate the dress I used the Endless Wishes stamp set from the current Holiday Catalogue. The medium and small snowflakes were a perfect size for on the dress. I stamped the snowflakes with VersaMark, sprinkled over the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and then set the embossing powder with the heat tool till it 'melted'.

I wanted to keep the same colour theme for my nieces present. Because she lives interstate it's easier to send a gift card which doesn't cost so much to post.

I dressed up the Gift Card Enclosure with the Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon and the Silver 1/8" ribbon. I embossed the medium snowflake from the Endless Wishes stamp set on to the vellum. Its a bit hard to see here but it looks so sparkly IRL.

I sent a few lollies with the gift card as well and put it all in on of the very cute Polka Dot Tag a Bag Gift Bags

Again using the same colours to tie it all together. I do like a bit of matchy matchy.

Let's hope my niece likes it all!

Is it too early to start on Christmas crafting?

Here is my first Christmas post for 2014! Is it too early for Christmas creations? Never too early in my book but some others may disagree.

For this post I've used the all new Gift Box Punch Board. Let me just say that this punch board is so quick and easy to use! I had this box punch, scored and folded in under a minute! It's that easy! Check out the You Tube clip below to see how simple it really is!

This box has been decorated with lots of new products from the NEW Holiday Catalogue to make it look Christmassy and festive. Check out the Under the Tree DSP. This is thicker than the other DSP's which makes it perfect to use with the Gift Box Punch Board.

I also made a beautiful bow for on the top using the Cherry Cobbler Sheer 1" Ribbon. How pretty does that look!

Watch this space for more Christmas crafting! So exciting!

Another '40th'

Here is the last of the male cards I had to make over the last couple of weeks. This one was a very special one for my wonderful husband who turned the BIG 4 - 0 over the weekend!

I again used the Back to Black DSP but this time teamed it with not only Crumb Cake Cardstock but Real Read as well. I really love the Back to Black DSP and it goes very well on male cards!

The gold accents have come out again! Still loving the gold! I again used the retired Bigz Alphabet Typeset Numbers but you could easily use the new Perfect Print Numbers Bigz from the 2014 Annual Catalogue.

Click on any products that I used below and you can purchase them straight from my online store.

'Dream' Card

Do you ever have those times when card ideas pop into your head just as your drifting off to sleep? What do you do? Do you get up scribble something down and go back to bed? Do you get up and start creating said card? Or do you drift off to blissful sleep and hope that it comes back to you the next day?

This card came to me as I was drifting off to sleep. Yes weird I know! And I drifted off to sleep hoping it would come back to me in the morning! And it did! I was very happy with the way it turned out!

I've been reading the Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hops each week and Krista Frattin from Stampin' Dolce (Check out her blog here) showed/reminded me about cutting off the side of the ribbon and pulling the threads out for an embellishment on your creations. I cut the new 1/8" Gold ribbon and pulled the gold thread out of the metallic bakers twine.

Everything has to have a touch of gold on it these days! I just love how it pops off the page and almost looks regal. Gives the creations a very classy look! I have used the retired Bigz Alphabet Typeset Numbers but you could easily use the new Perfect Print Numbers Bigz from the 2014 Annual Catalogue if you really wanted to use current prodcts.

For Caden

I really struggled with this baby card because I don't really have any 'baby' type stamps. I only have Big News which is only words and sentiments no pictures. Don't worry though the no baby stamp sets has been rectified and one is on the way as we speak. Phew!

This is my card for my cousin and her husband who just had a little boy after 2 girls! So happy for them!

I love this colour combo using Coastal Cabana for a boy card instead of the traditional blue.  Coastal Cabana is one of my favourite colours. Will be sobbing when this In Colour retires.

And how nice are the In Colour sequins. They are stunning. Loving sequins on everything lately!

New Blog Header!!!

I decided that my blog need a bit of a freshen up. It's been a bit of a learning curve for the last few days as to how to figure out all this computer stuff! There is only so much I can do and then a bit of Googling and a bit of Pinteresting and it is easy to figure out.

I made the new blog header with Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio digital program. It's very easy to use and creates a professional look.

I'm very pleased with how it turned out and am loving the fresh new look! Just have to 'iron' out a few things and then we will be back to normal.
