Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #657 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fabulous sketch for you designed by fellow JAI team member - Nikki.
It certainly has been a while between creations for me with life and family taking over and crafting and creating put aside for a moment. But I'm here today ready to share again my lastest creations.
While I love the simple design of the sketch that leaves lots of room for interpretation, I was a little bit thrown by the angled lines across the card. I much prefer the lines across any card to be either vertical or horizontal. Definitly not angled. But as I've said it before and I'll probably say it again not doubt, it's not called a challenge for nothing.
I used retired Stampin' Up! Washi Tape to mask up my Basic White card front so that I could blend some Boho Blue ink across the front of the card. If you were wanting to make a quick card you could use strips of cardstock but I liked the look of the blended in as opposed to the cardstock.
Over my ink blended layer I've added a layer of embossed vellum - embossed with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing folder - and then added some die cut layers, cut with the Countryside Corners Dies.
The flowers, leaves and sentiment all come from the Lasting Joy Stamp set. The flowers stamped in Bubble Bath Ink, the leaves in Mossy Meadow and then the senitment has been heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Bubble Bath cardstock.
I love this pink and blue colour combo and I'm sure I will use it again in creations to come.
I've finished off the card with some Linen Thread, Boho Blue Textured Ribbon (which I cut in half) and some Pearl Basic Jewels.
Lots of layers, flowers, a pretty colour combo and some gorgeous ribbon and trim, all the things I love in a card all rolled into one.
There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out everyone's take on the sketch. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.
