Hello there stamping friends! Thank you for
joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for
the CASE-ing the Catty Design Team, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from Rochelle Laird-Smith's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome.
We are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. This week we are CASE-ing the Take to the Sky Suite found on Pg. 36 & 37 of the 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue.
I don't have this suite yet to create with so I looked as some of the design elements of the samples and used them for my card today. I was really taken by the bottom sample from the image above with the large die cut shapes laid out in a brick/tile like pattern and tried to replicate that on my card.
The sample from the catalogue used the Nested Essential Dies where as I've used a square die cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Once all the squares were cut I embossed them with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is only new to me and I love the subtle texture that it gives. Super gorgeous!
I've also used a few colours on my card that can be found in the Take to the Sky DSP such as Boho Blue, Smoky Slate and Night of Navy. I've embellished the card with some images, DSP, and die cuts from the Country Woods Suite. And yes, I'm using this suite again. I do love it a lot! Actually most of these items were left over on my desk from other projects so it was good to use them instead of leaving them as an unfinished project.
The floral images I've coloured using the Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. I like to use a few different colours to get a good variation in colour from dark to light.
Stampin' Blends Used
Flowers
- Light Peach Pie, Light and Dark Petal Pink, Light Summer Splash,
Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Boho Blue, Light Balmy Blue
Leaves - Light and Dark Gray Granite
I've added to the card some Petal Pink Diagonal Trim that I cut in half for a smaller ribbon and combined that with some White Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack. Like the original sample there were two strips of cardstock for the sentiments so I've done the same to keep that same design element. I've finished the card off with a placement of a few very pretty Iridescent Basic Pearls.
I hope that I've inspired you with my CASE of the Take to the Sky Suite. Even if you don't have the products from a particular suite look at the design elements of the samples and see how you can use them with the products that you do have.
There are lots of AMAZING creations from
the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way
around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.
Next up on the hop is the lovely Julia Quinn with her fantastic Take to the Sky CASE. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.
We would love to have you join us over at our Facebook
group to share your creation CASE-ing a project from the 2024 - 2025
Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and join in this weeks challenge. You
don't need to have a blog to join in!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful card Rochelle. I love how you have torn that centre panel and against the wood background it just makes the flowers pop. x
