I'm so excited! I have been chosen as this weeks winner over at Nicole Derendorf's blog with her Festive Friday Challenges.

Owl Punch Birthday

How cute is Stampin' Up!'s Owl Builder Punch! I only just got mine the other day and I feel like I'm the last person to get one! This is a very versatile punch and can be used in many ways. I have even seen on You Tube someone making a stunning rose using this punch. Check it out!

This is the card I have made with the Owl Punch. I just love how cute the owl is! I added wings to mine using the largest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch and folded them in half. And to give him a bit more of a birthday feel I gave him a hat using some Red Glimmer Paper.

Now to go and play and see what other creations I can come up with!

Festive Friday Challenge #19

I love the idea of making Christmas cards well ahead of time so that when Christmas does come around that is one thing that has taken care of itself and you don't have to stress to madly get your cards finished before Christmas is over.

That is why I love the Festive Friday Challenge over at Nicole Derendorf's blog. To check out her blog Click Here

This weeks challenge is a product challenge. The challenge was to use Glitter or Glimmer on your Christmas card. Your challenge is to create a Christmas creation using one or both of these products. Any glitter will do, the Glass glitter is beautiful, the retired chunky glitter too…anything to give your project a bit of sparkle!

I chose to use the wonderful Red Glimmer Paper.

The glimmer paper is the easiest way to add some sparkle to your project and it is the least messiest too! It comes in Red and Silver and is perfect for those sparkly Christmas Cards.

For Piper

I have just become an Aunty again for the 10th time! I'm so excited by the new addition to the family but but sad too as they live so far away. The Gold Coast isn't just around the corner from Melbourne. :(

I got my inspiration for my card from the fabulous and talented Teneale Williams. To check out her blog click here.

The card she made was for a baby boy but mine is for Piper Lisa, a beautiful little girl.

The colours I've used for this card are Whisper White, Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Early Espresso. And I've used water colour paper with the pram image from the Baby Bundle set and did some water colouring with an Aqua painter.

I do love to do water colouring, just now need to practice a bit more to perfect my technique.

Happy Birthday Ash!

My eldest boy recently celebrated his 9th birthday. I usually find male cards quite a challenge. Female cards are easy, add a bit of colour, ribbon and some bling and your done. But males generally don't like all that pretty stuff so I find that when I do make a male, because I haven't added all those pretty things I think that they look underdone.

I actually got inspiration from the wrapping paper that I chose to wrap his presents in this year.

This just screamed to me Chocolate Chip, Island Indigo Bashful Blue, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White. Isn't it funny how we see Stampin' Up! colours in when out and about!

This is the card that I came up with...

I used the Need for Speed stamp set and used the masking technique. I stamped the Lucky Limeade card first, I then stamped the image on a Post-it-Note, cut it out (making sure some of the sticky was still on the back of the image), stuck the Post-it-Note image over the Lucky Limeade car and then inked the stamp up with Bashful Blue and stamped it on the card. The first car then looks like it is in front of the second one and you don't have the other image coming through the first one.

I hope that makes sense. I do have trouble explaining how to do things sometimes. If you would like to see the masking technique in action search it on You Tube.

Thanks For Looking!

Thank You Collection

Some people in my church have recently finished up some important roles and they are handing over the reigns to others. With my husband being on the Church Council he put my name forward to make the cards for them (well actually I suggested to him that I will make them for him, LOL!)

I used the now retired Sale-a-bration 2012 Everyday Enchantment DSP but these cards can work with any of the Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper.

Why not take advantage of the May 2012 Paper Party and get 1 pack of Designer Series Paper for FREE when you buy 3.

Click Here to see the brochure on the current Paper Party Promotion. Contact me today to get your FREE Designer Series Paper.

The base colour of all the cards are Soft Suede and then they are accentuated with Very Vanilla and Lucky Limeade.

I love how the cards turned out and I hope that they convey how much we have appreciated the recipients work and effort in the roles they have performed in our Church.

Have Fun and Happy Stampin!

Pool Party Pillow Box

Well this is the last item that I have to make for Mother's Day. I'm all organised this year. Cards are made for my mum and mum-in-law, presents are bought, so I don't have to do the mad rush to the local shopping center on Saturday.  Feels good to be organised. Takes the stress out of things!

One part of one of the gift that I am giving this year is quite small so I thought I would use the Big Shot Pillow Box die and make up a pillow box. It is just the right size for my little item.

I embossed the cut out die with the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder and then sponged ink over it to give the embossing some definition. I then put a strip of Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White around the Pillow Box and then put a strip of the Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon and then wound round some Pool Party Bakers Twine. Its all finished off with a cute Jelly Bean Brad and a sentiment stamped in Wisteria Wonder using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp set

It turned out pretty cute and I do hope the recipient really enjoys their present on Mother's Day.

Not Quite Navy Apothecary Art

I recently joined up to a Facebook page called Stampin' Up Card Swap. You make a card for some one and then send it off to them and you get one in return. It is a fantastic way to get different ideas from other people.

The people that partake in the swap are from all over the world, so who knows where your inspiring card will come from!

If you want to join in the fun with others around the world Click here to find the Stampin' Up Card Swap Page.

This is the first swap that I have done though this page. It is destined for the US and I hope that the recipient will like my card that I have made for her.

I used the watercolour pencils to colour the flowers and sponged up the card a bit with Crumb Cake ink to give it a bit of a vintage feel.

I also layered the pleated satin ribbon over the seam binding ribbon for a different effect.
I wish I could be there to see the recipients face when she receives this card. I do love to see peoples reactions to the cards that I give them

Have fun and Happy Stampin'
