ESAD 2014 Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

The Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue is here in Australia and New Zealand and has been live in the South Pacific for nearly a month now! I just love it and I hope you love it as much as I do!

To mark is wonderful occasion of a new catalogue my lovely friends and I from the Facebook group ESAD have decided to a Blog Hop to showcase the fabulous products from this awesome catalogue. Can you tell I like it a lot?

You may have joined me from Nerida Carter's blog or started here with me. Either way you are in for a treat to see the creativity and imagination of myself and 18 other fellow Australian and New Zealand Stampin' Up! demonstators. So grab your beverage of choice, get comfortable and get ready for the hop!

I'm number 17 on the hop and I'm so glad you could join us.

I've made 4 cards and one quick gift tag for my projects with some of my most favourite products from the Holiday Catalogue.

The first project is using the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set (pg. 25 Holiday Catalogue).

I embossed Gold embossing powder on the Gold Foil card stock. I love the stunning effect of the gold on gold. Its very pretty!

I cut the side off the 1/8" Gold ribbon and pulled the threads out. Then pulled the gold off the gold metallic bakers twine to give the star it's 'tail'.

My next project is using the Christmas Bauble stamp (pg. 19 Holiday Catalogue)

This stamp lends itself perfectly to a bit of colouring with the Blendablities.

It also looks really good embossed in gold first, like I've done here, and then coloured in with the Blendabilites.

My third project is using the Endless Wishes Stamp Set and the Letterpress Winter Stamp Set.

I stamped the frame from the Letterpress Winter stamp set with Versamark, sprinkled Heat and Stick Powder, heat set that and then sprinkled over Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (which is now everywhere in my craft room. LOL!). The Dazzling Diamonds gives an 'icy' look to the card and to keep it in theme with the other snowflakes.

Don't you just love those snowflake embellishments! So pretty!

The 4th project is very quick gift tag.

These are made with the Endless Wishes Stamp, the Frosted Sequins and finished off with the Natural and Old Olive Two Tone Trim. If you wanted to mass produce these they wouldn't be that hard to do.

My last project is a card using the Festival of Trees Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Tree punch (pg.24  Holiday Catalogue)

It took me a while to figure out how to get a 'snow' look background on this card. I just couldn't think of what I could use. And then all of the sudden after I had used the Georgeous Grunge on another project I thought 'Why not use Georgeous Grunge?' and then I thought 'Why didn't I think of that before?'

I hope that you have enjoyed what I've shown you on this hop. Click here for Tracy Speight's blog, the next stop on the hop. I'm sure you will find lots of ideas from Tracy to inspire you. In case you get lost or there are broken links just come back here for the full list of the ESAD ladies taking part in the hop.

Inspired by 'Frozen'

My daughter and my niece both celebrated their birthday's last week, turning 6 and 7. What do most 6 and 7 year old girls love at the moment? Anything to do with the Disney movie 'Frozen'.

I made them both the same card inspired by the character Elsa. I got the idea for the 'Elsa' dress from fellow demonstrator Kelly Kent. Check out her Elsa card here.

This is my version!

The dress is made with the retired Dress Up framelits. This is a set of framelits that I will never sell, that's for sure!

To decorate the dress I used the Endless Wishes stamp set from the current Holiday Catalogue. The medium and small snowflakes were a perfect size for on the dress. I stamped the snowflakes with VersaMark, sprinkled over the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and then set the embossing powder with the heat tool till it 'melted'.

I wanted to keep the same colour theme for my nieces present. Because she lives interstate it's easier to send a gift card which doesn't cost so much to post.

I dressed up the Gift Card Enclosure with the Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon and the Silver 1/8" ribbon. I embossed the medium snowflake from the Endless Wishes stamp set on to the vellum. Its a bit hard to see here but it looks so sparkly IRL.

I sent a few lollies with the gift card as well and put it all in on of the very cute Polka Dot Tag a Bag Gift Bags

Again using the same colours to tie it all together. I do like a bit of matchy matchy.

Let's hope my niece likes it all!

Is it too early to start on Christmas crafting?

Here is my first Christmas post for 2014! Is it too early for Christmas creations? Never too early in my book but some others may disagree.

For this post I've used the all new Gift Box Punch Board. Let me just say that this punch board is so quick and easy to use! I had this box punch, scored and folded in under a minute! It's that easy! Check out the You Tube clip below to see how simple it really is!

This box has been decorated with lots of new products from the NEW Holiday Catalogue to make it look Christmassy and festive. Check out the Under the Tree DSP. This is thicker than the other DSP's which makes it perfect to use with the Gift Box Punch Board.

I also made a beautiful bow for on the top using the Cherry Cobbler Sheer 1" Ribbon. How pretty does that look!

Watch this space for more Christmas crafting! So exciting!
