Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Favourite New Annual Catalogue Products

Hello stamping friends! Its the last Friday of the month so its time for us to get our fancy on! Welcome to this months Fancy Friday Blog Hop!

The Fancy Friday Design Team are sharing with you all our favourite products from the new 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue! I'm using the stamp set that caught my eye the very first time I saw the new Annual Catalogue. I even let out a gasp when I saw it I was that taken aback. Its the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set with that big, gorgeous Magnolia flower. The whole Magnolia Lane Suite, found on pgs.36 - 38, is just all round amazing.

So I've pulled out my Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers and coloured this gorgeous flower in. The samples of this flower are show in light, pale pink colour but Magnolia's come in a whole range of colours, including a deep purple colour like what I've done here today. Google Magnolia Flower colours and you'll see the amazing range of colours that they come in.

I've actually used the Stampin' Blends on Crumb Cake Cardstock and this gives the Blends Colours a whole different look. I used the Mossy Meadow Light and Dark for the leaves and Rich Razzleberry Light and Dark for the flower.

By using the Crumb Cake Cardstock and then die cutting the flower out the Crumb Cake edge around the flower looks like a shadow around the Magnolia and looks like there is some dimension to the image against the Shimmery White.

Because this flower really doesn't need much else to go with it, it really does speak for itself, I've left the card fairly plain with the 'Hello' sentiment heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder then the Magnolia Lane Mossy Meadow Linen Thread combined with Linen Thread for a little bit of trim. The Gold Metallic Pearls really finish off the card and add to the elegant nature of the card!

Make sure that you check out all the colours that Magnolia's come in and then use those colours from your next Good Morning Magnolia project.

Next up on the hop is the super amazing, super creative Krista Frattin in Canada. Make sure you go and give her some Fancy Friday love.

Just Add Ink #463 | Just Choose Two

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to the newest challenge for Just Add Ink #463 | Just Choose Two - Foil, Ribbon or Sequins. We haven't done a Just Choose Two for a while so it's fun to do something a little different that our usual challenge schedule.

I love to use foil, ribbon and sequins on nearly all my projects, so it was hard to 'Just Choose Two'. I did eventually chose two products to use and went with foil and ribbon and used them with at new Stampin' Up! bundle - A Little Lace and my new favourite colour Pretty Peacock.

In the 'A Little Lace' bundle there is the most amazing die 'lace' die that cuts a full cardstock panel and that is what I've used here today with the Gold Foil Sheets. It has a separate scalloped edge die with it so you can give the lace panel a beautiful scalloped edge or you can leave it with a straight edge and then die cut it into your preferred shape.

For some added interest I've layered a piece of the Pretty Peacock 6" x 6" In Colour Designer Series Paper. You can see some of the script writing peeking through the lace holes for a different look

I added a piece of the White Flax Ribbon over the lace and then added a piece of the Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon, which I cut in half and pulled all the linen threads out of it, and then finished off the card with two of the images from the A Little Lace stamp set and the sentiment also from the same set.

There are lot of amazing creations from the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' they all chose for their creations this week and then while your there see how you can enter your creation. Can't wait to see what 'two' you choose.

TGIF Challenges | TGIF #217 | Ribbon Ruffles

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to my blog. Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | TGIF #217. This weeks challenge is all about the technique Ribbon Ruffles.

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/06/tgifc217-ribbon-ruffles.html

Ribbons are gorgeous to use on any card, which I love to do but when they are ruffled up they give any card that extra special look.

I've gone for a CAS (Clean and Simple) card today only because I didn't want to cover the beautiful embossing from the Magnolia 3D embossing folder. How stunning is it??? I was really just playing around with the folder to see what I looks like when embossed and was really taken a back with how amazing it is and then my card just evolved from there. I just love the beauty in the simplicity of this card. What's the saying 'Less is More'.

I've created more of a fuller Ribbon Ruffle for my card with a needle and thread. I've sewed a simple stitch along the top edge of the ribbon and Once I was finished stitching the length of the ribbon, I pulled the thread taught to create the ruffles and tied a knot it the thread so that the ruffles didn't unruffle. The ruffle was then adhered to the card with tear and tape.

To add to my ribbon ruffle I layered a smaller piece of one of the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Pack cards, that I had trimmed off, and then accented it with one of the stickers also from the Memories and More Card pack. Layered then on that is some coordinating Magnolia Lane Mossy Meadow Linen Thread and the Enjoy Today sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. Got to love coordination and matchy-matchy!

Just a few little bits of bling to finish it all off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #462 | Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to this week's Just Add Ink Challenge #462. This week Kim has a fabulous sketch for you to sink your creative teeth into.

How fabulous are the stripes? I'm such a sucker for stripes and this time was no exception.  I've actually made two cards today just using some strips of card stock and then layering some dies over top.

The colours for my cards today have been inspired by the colours that I saw in a card on Instagram, a while back, HERE. I just love the colours used in the original card and thought they would be perfect for today's sketch!

While the colours in the cards I was inspired by aren't Stampin' Up!, I've tried my best to get as close to the colours as I could with Stampin' Up! cardstock. I did have to pull out one retired colour, Lemon Lime Twist, but it hasn't been gone that long so I'm sure that you all have a little bit of it left in your stash, if you wanted to recreate the colours that I've used today.

Both cards are the same, but just swapped out the cardstock for each to change the colours. I started the cards with a Crumb Cake card base, added a few layers of Whisper White card stock and then added the strips of coloured cardstock down the card.

Once all the cardstock strips were added I then embossed the Stitched Rectangle Die into the cardstock. The embossing still gives the look of die cutting without actually die cutting. Because there is a lot of colour on the cards I thought that all the card really needed was the Butterfly Beauty die cut in Whisper White and 'painted' with Clear Wink of Stella and then the Happy Birthday in embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Basic Black Cardstock.

The colours from top to bottom -
Blackberry Bliss, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist (Retired), Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue. Pacific Point and Night of Navy

The colours from top to bottom -
Lovely Lipstick, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron.

Which one is your favourite? While I love them both and they look even more fabulous in real life, I'm leaning more towards the Purple/Blue card as my favourite.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week to see your fabulous projects. Be sure to stop by the Just Add Ink Blog to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Come Sail Away Suite

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to this months Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. We are focusing on the amazing Come Sail Away Suite from the new 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The products of this suite can be found on pg.145 in the new catalogue.

Whether you're sailing home or going off to new adventures, products in the Come Sail Away Suite will inspire you on your journey. These products are perfect for the sailing enthusiast or the boatie in your life. I'm just loving all the blues and greens in this suite and the gorgeous
Night Of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine and the Sail Away Trinkets are a fabulous addition to the DSP and stamp set.

I've made three projects for you today, 2 cards and 1 decorated mini pizza box, with some fabulous ways to use the coordinating Come Sail Away Memories and More card pack and lots of fun layering of die cuts, DSP and embellishments and trim.

My first card uses the Night of Navy Striped DSP as the main focal point and then die cut the Stitched Rectangle dies in the DSP to create a soft and subtle frame. I've tried to created a sailing scene in the stitched circle. Using one of the laser cut sheets from the Memories and More Card pack that looks like 'waves' and 'water' and used that as the water in my little scene.

Using the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's twine I tied a 'sailors' knot and then added some layers of the seaweed looking dies and the anchor from the Sailing Away Trinkets. Combined with that is some of the 1/4" Copper trim. Cut the copper trim 'open' down one edge and then pull it open and it looks like fishing netting.

How fresh does this DSP look with the Balmy Blue stripes?  I love the soft look that this blue gives to the project. Again I've used another laser cut sheet from the Memories and More card pack and layered that on a die cut circle of Balmy Blue. Again combined with some of the Copper Trim 'netting' and some layering of the die cuts, Baker's Twine and the trinkets.

The 'Celebrate' and 'Today' are stickers from the Memories and More card pack. Not only are these card packs fabulous for memory keeping but they are fantastic to use on your cards to quickly put something together that looks amazing!

My last project is my decorated mini pizza box. I've made a belly band for the box so all the layers and embellishments are attached to the band for easy removal when opening the box. I've gone with more of the green tones that are also in the DSP and coordinated my box to that.

Again I've used the Copper 'netting' for this project, it really does look fabulous layered under all the elements and really adds to the whole nautical feel. Most of the layered elements are more stickers from the Memories and More card pack and when teamed with the die cut pieces the projects really comes together quickly.

I hope that I've given you some inspiration with this suite today.I really love that my projects really focus on the colours in the suite and that they show you can make the layered/avid projects using the elements from the Come Sail Away Memories and More card pack.

Next up on the hop is the super amazing, super fabulous Stesha Bloohart and her amazing home decor pieces. You'll be blown away!!

Just Add Ink #461 | Just Add Inspiration

Hello stamping friends! Happy Friday! Another Friday means another new challenge over at Just Add Ink | Just Add Ink #461. It's an inspiration picture challenge. It's a little bit different from our usual inspiration but I'm sure there is something there for everyone to get the creative ideas flowing.

While you may think that this Inspiration picture is a little gloomy like Melbourne's weather at the moment, I was drawn to the yellow colour in the trees and the the grey tones. I teamed up a stamp set that you probably wouldn't go to with the yellow and grey colour combo but the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set works. I had to Google first to see if magnolia flowers come in yellow and they do! I'm not a plant/gardener person so I've got not idea about those sorts of things.Thank goodness they come in all sorts of colours!

The colouring for my magnolia is based on one called 'Yellow Bird' and again thank you Google. It has some yellow colour at the bast of the petal and then fades out to a white/creamy colour. To try and replicate this I used the new So Saffron Stampin' Blends in dark and light and added the light Petal Pink and the Colour Blender to help to blend the colours all together.

Because the magnolia image is quite large, it really is a statement in itself so I really didn't want to put much else with it. The embossed Smoky Slate layered with the Basic Gray is the perfection addition to go with my magnolia.

And then to finish the card off I splattered the Smoky Slate Stampin' Write marker for some added interest and then added the 'Enjoy Today' sentiment, the ribbon and twine from the Magnolia Lane suite and some Basic Pearls for some added prettiness. Also bringing the project all together I created a matching envelope and lined it with some of the Magnolia Lane DSP.

I hope that I've given you some inspiration from the Inspiration Picture and a different look using the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set.

The Just Add Ink team have some amazing creations to inspire you and to show you what inspired them! Please hop on over and check out their challenge submissions and also of those that play along!  We would love to have you play along with us!

Fab Friday #165 | Rococo Rose Bloom & Grow

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to my little part of Internet land. I hope that you are having a fabulous week and an awesome Thursday! And that you are having a creative week too! Despite being winter here in Melbourne the sun has been shinning today and it has actually been quite a beautiful day! It almost feels like early spring weather not start of winter weather.

http://fabfridaystampinchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/06/fab-friday-165.html

I was commenting on someone else's blog this morning and saw a link to the Fab Friday Challenge blog and saw that they had a sketch challenge this week so I decided to play along. I haven't entered in with the Fab Friday crew before but I'm excited to play along with the for the first time.

If you have been following my blog for a while now you will know that the sketch challenges are my all time favourite and if given the chance I try my hardest to play along.

My card features the beautiful new 2019 - 2021 In Color - Rococo Rose and a stamp set that initially didn't catch my eye when I first flicked though the new catalogue, but am really loving, is Bloom & Grow. The open line images from this set are perfect for colouring and that's what I've done here today.

I've started with heat embossing the floral images with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Shimmery White Cardstock and then using an aqua painter coloured the flowers with Rococo Rose and the leaves with Mossy Meadow.

To get the spotty kraft cardstock layer I opened, at the seam, a Stampin' Up! Kraft Pillow Box and then die cut the box with the Stitched Rectangle Dies for a gorgeous, fun layer. I love the spotty patterns in these boxes and really wanted to incorporate it into my card.

I've then finished off the card with some of the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon. I just cut a piece in half and then layered them on top of each other. Pretty! And then also used some of the 2019–2021 In Color 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper, White Baker's Twine, Linen Thread and some Basic Pearls to bring the card all together.

The Rococo Rose is such a gorgeous dusty pink. I think it's my new favourite Stampin' Up! pink. SO pretty!

ESAD 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek Blog Hop | Introducing the 2019 - 2021 In Colors

Hello there stamping friends! I'm super excited to be taking part in a blog hop with my Australian and New Zealand friends from the facebook group, ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators). Grab a cuppa or your favourite beverage, put your feet up as there is lots of new Annual Catalogue inspiration to show you today.

Our hop today is showcasing products from the ALL NEW 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue, which goes live June 4th!! I can't wait for this catalogue to officially go live to purchase from as there are LOADS of amazing products in this catalogue and I for one can't wait to get my hands on some new products!! It's the Stampin' Up! equivalent of Christmas! So exciting!

Today I'm giving you a two for one. I'm showcasing the new 2019 - 2021 In Colors as well as a new stamp set and die bundle - To a Wild Rose. This stamp set has been inspired by Million Dollar Sales Achiever Mary Ellen Byler.

The cards are all the same and using the same products, just changing up the In Colour for each different card. They are amazing colours in their own right but don't they look fabulous all together too.

Each card I've stamped the flower image on the Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake ink. Layered on that is an In Color DSP panel die cut from the In Color 6" x 6" DSP stack, a die cut vellum piece, some ribbon and trim and then the To A Wild Rose flower image stamped with versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The card is then finished off with the 'Hello' sentiment, also from the To A Wild Rose stamp set, the Gold Glimmer die cut leaf and the In Color Faceted Dots.

 Terracotta Tile

 Seaside Spray

 Pretty Peacock

 Purple Posy

Rococo Rose

Which one is your favourite new In Color? I'm loving Pretty Peacock, especially when teamed with anything gold, and then a close equal second is Rococo Rose and Purple Posy.  What do you think your favourite In Color Combination might be? Might have to try using them all on one creation for a gorgeous and pretty look.

If you are after a copy of the new catalouge, please contact me today and I'll get one out to you!

Now on to the fabulous Kelly Kent in Western Australia to be inspired by her 2019 -2020 Annual Catalogue creations.
