Global Design Project 148 | CASE the Designer Connie Collins

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome to my little part of the world wide web. Sharing what I love and loving what I share.

I'm playing along with the Global Design Project 148 | CASE the Designer - Connie Collins. Connie is on this years Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team and she makes totally amazing cards! Apart from making amazing cards she is amazing at using many different colouring mediums to colour her images on her creations. I'm always blown away seeing one of her colouring creations!! They are always WOW!!

I was really drawn to the DSP that Connie used, the circle elements on her card, the sponging of the edges, pretty much the whole card. Ha! It is stunning!!

My whole card was going to be a complete different look. I started to use a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper  as a sponging template to sponge Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock for a tone on tone look but it wasn't coming out the way that I wanted so that idea was scrapped and I then used the Crumb Cake DSP layer instead and then layered a piece of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper, Vanilla side, over the DSP.

I'm a huge lover of layering on my cards and that's what I've got here again today. Most of the items used on this card today come from the Share What You Love Suite in the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalogue and the cardstock and ink colourings co-ordinate with this suite as well.

I really enjoyed sponging the edges of the DSP and circle layers. I used to do it quite often and haven't for quite some time. I was just drawn to the sponged edges in Connie's card and just love that extra 'something, something' that the sponging gives.

I stamped the flower from the Love What You Do stamp set and, as I've done a few times before, using an aqua painter, pulled the colour around in the flower before the ink dries.  The card is then finished off the the Silver flower and the Tranquil Tide Baker's Twine from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit and some of the gorgeous pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fancy Friday Blog Hop | Tropical Vibe

Welcome to this months Fancy Friday Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged is to use one of the stamp sets that have a tropical vibe to them. This includes Climbing Orchid, Animal Expedition, Tropical Chic, Fabulous Flamingo, or Serene Garden all from the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalogue.

If you've not hopped with us before, the Fancy Friday team are past and present Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Members. We still love blog hopping together so we have a blog hop once a month with everything fun and fancy and showing what we love!

Of course I'm using the products from the Tropical Escape Suite which includes my most favourite DSP from the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalogue, the Tropical Escape 6"x6" DSP stack. I do love a pink and green colour combo as well as the fabulous black and white patterns. It just screams Rochelle!! Just gorgeous!

I've made a fun Blushing Bride Gift bag with a matching card. One of the most fabulous thing about making your own gift packaging is that you can make it matchy-matchy to your card and that's what I I've done here today.

The gift bag is made with 2 sheets of 12"x12" Blushing Bride cardstock and then accented with some strips of the Tropical Escape DSP.  I've used the square Tropical Thinlit as the gift tag for the bag and then continued that same look onto the card for the continuity from the gift bag to the card. The thinlit is used just to emboss the cardstock using the Big Shot Embossing Mats. Have you used these Embossing Mats yet? They will give you some much more versatility to all your dies and you'll get so much more out of them. Got to love crafting products that have more than one use and look!!

I did have a layer of the Tropical Escape DSP on my Blushing Bride layers but removed it due to the card looking way too busy, with that extra DSP layer mixed with all the other layers and elements. Sometimes when I'm layering and layering and layering I have to pull back just a little bit as sometimes what I might envisage in my head is too much on the card.

I've been thinking for a few weeks now that this square Tropical Thinlit would be perfect as a gift tag. And I feel that my idea for a gift tag worked perfectly. Add a few images from the Tropical Chic stamp set and some dies from the Tropical Thinlits and you've got a fun looking gift tag.

Such a fun and bright suite! I just love it. It is definitely making my Melbourne winter days brighter, that's for sure! It just has that summer feel and is making me dream of places like the Cook Islands , in the South Pacific, and their tropical vibe. Time for a holiday there me thinks!

Just Add Ink #418 | Colour Challenge

Hello, hello! This week over at Just Add Ink | JAI #418 we have a gorgeous Colour Challenge for you using one of the new colours from the recent Stampin' Up! Colour Revamp - Soft Sea Foam, with two of the returning colours Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight. And Yes, I'm playing with the Stitched All Around Bundle again! Can't get enough of this set, especially those Stitched Labels Frameltis Dies! Swoon!!

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/07/just-add-ink-418colour.html

The first part of the card was to make my striped DSP and the Stamparatus makes this so easy to do. I started with the long solid piece from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and placed it right at the top of the cardstock at the very top of the Stamparatus, in line with the first 'lug' on the right hand side of  the Stamparatus. I then inked and stamped the line and moved it down the cardstock with moving the plate down the notches on the Stamparatus. Because the lines were spaced apart further apart than I wanted them to be, I placed the line stamp between the first and second line that I had already stamped and then repeated the whole process filling each space down the cardstock.

Under the striped panel I've embossed that layer with the Oh-So-Gorgeous Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder. Its just so stunning and so pretty! Perfect to go with the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and Framelit Dies.

I die cut the large framelit die from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies and left all the pieces in. I really love that look and it really give all your detailed framelits dies more versatility to have multiple looks from each die.

I've gone for a bit of an OTT (Over The Top) look with the layering of all the ribbon and trim but it makes for an extra fun look with all the different  layers. In that mix is a piece of the Daffodil Delight Cardstock 'embossed' with the Cross Stitch Edgelit and to soften the brightness of the Daffodil Delight I layered a piece of vellum over it die cut with another of the dies also from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies.

Over the layers of ribbon and trim is the Thank You circle image embossed with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder with the smaller Stitched circle stamped with the Cross Stitch Stamp and then sponged around the edge with Soft Sea Foam Ink and a Stamping Sponge.

Global Design Project 147 | Theme Challenge I #GDP147 | Stampin' Up! Stitched All Around

Hey there stamping friends! Welcome to my little part of the world wide web, sharing what I love!
Today I'm playing along with this weeks fun theme challenge over at the Global Design Project | #GDP147 - Country/ Farm Life.

The things that I think of when I think of country are timber, rustic, burlap and lace, gingham, linen thread, sewing and stitching and that's what I've tried to incorperate into my card here today, that Country Rustic look.

Fun Fact - I grew up on a dairy farm as a child, living in a big old farm house with those fabulous high celings but was super draughty with us kids having to help around the farm most days (especially in the school holidays). Lots of fond and fun memories of life on the farm with all the cows!

I started with a piece of the Wood Textures DSP and then embossed it with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder for added texture to the DSP. I love the look embossing folder gives to the DSP to make it look more life like and like real wood. For more fun and texture, because embossing the Wood Textures DSP wasn't enough, I flicked a mixture of Tombow and Water over the DSP using and Aqua painter and then poured Copper embossing powder over. Heat the embossing powder like normal till the powder melts like normal and then you have a fun metallic splattered look.

The big Stitched Label I die cut out of Very Vanilla and then sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake ink for more of that rustic and rugged look. The Cross Stitch stamp has been stamped on the Very Vanilla with Petal Pink ink and then layered over that is Burlap Ribbon, Very Vanilla Lace Trim, Smoky Slate Gingham Ribbon (Retired), Petal Pink Metallic Ribbon and a piece from the Frames Elements. Loving the layering of all that ribbon and trim together and how stunning is the Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink colours together. I'm still getting used to the new Colour Revamp, new colour combinations and what goes with what. I'm loving the how these two colours look together though! Pretty!

The Sentiment Circle, saying 'You are my Sunshine, My Only Sunshine' is White embossed on Soft Sea Foam and then layered over that is a  Corrugated Element heart with the heart from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies and the teeny tiny wooden heart is also from the Frames Elements. All finished of with some Pearls and Rhinestones. Lots of layers and elements but lots of gorgeousness too.

If you want some amazing 'Country' inspiration check out all the fabulousness the Global Design Project team have for us. Gosh they are amazing and have outdone it again this week!

ESAD Designer Series Paper Buy 3, Get 1 Free Promotion Blog Hop

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to a special blog hop showcasing the fabulous Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper, Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion that is on for the month of July! Some of us from the Facebook group ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Stampin Up! Demonstrators)
are showing you lots of fabulous creations that you can make using all this amazing paper and give you ideas use this beautiful paper and not to hoard it away. #loveitchopit #loveituseit

Only the Designer Series Papers listed qualify for this promotion. You may mix and match papers from any of the listed papers. So  pick your favourites from the list, get ordering and get creating.

http://rochellejblok.stampinup.net/

Some of my favourite DSP packs are the Tropical Escape 6"x6" DSP stack, Petal Promenade DSP, Twinkle Twinkle DSP and of curse the Wood Textures 6"x6" DSP stack that goes with everything!

I've made two Rectangular Origami Boxes with the Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper, one sheet of 12"x12" DSP for each. This paper is super cute and just perfect for Baby creations. I've had these boxes pinned in one of my, many, Pinterest Boards for a long time and thought this blog hop showcasing the DSP Promotion would be perfect make them. The most fabulous thing about these boxes that you don't need any adhesive to hold them together. Winning!!

To see how to make them follow this You Tube tutorial. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy these boxes are! And you don't have to use a full 12"x12" sheet. You just have to make sure that your starting piece of paper is square. Just bare in mind that the smaller the paper you start with the smaller your box will be. Perfect to customise for any gift.

I used the Petal Pink DSP sheet and the Pool Party DSP sheet for a traditional Pink and Blue Baby Gift Box. If you wanted to go for a non-traditional colour for your gift boxes there are some Grey and Green sheets in the DSP pack. I just love these Petal Pink and Pool Party colours for that soft baby look.

Both boxes have a co-ordinating tag and the super cute bunny from the Stampin' Up! A Good Day Stamp Set with the 'Hello' also from that set. The 'Little One' comes from the Stampin' Up! Animal Outing Stamp Set. The belly band strip is just the reverse pattern from both of the sheets of DSP and I think they team up so well together.

Both boxes have also been finished off with the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, either the Silver & Petal Pink Silver Baker's Twine or Silver & Pool Party baker's Twine and some of the wooden hearts from the Frames Elements.

Why not give these boxes a go? Perfect way to use up some of that DSP that you have too!

I hope that I've given you some inspiration for this months DSP promotion and to use this amazing DSP.

Next on the hop is the awesome Fi Cobbin with her amazing DSP inspired creations. I'm sure she will give some more fabulous ideas to use the Stampin' Up! DSP.

Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop | Bouquet Blooms

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to my small part of the world wide web! We are back with another Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop. You are joining me here in Melbourne, Australia for this part of the hop. This month we are making project with the Bouquet Blooms Bundle.

If you haven't hopped with us before, Stamp to Share is a monthly blog hop featuring Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from the Stampin' Up! markets around the world. Once a month we feature projects made with one Stampin' Up! bundle to inspire you.

Have you got the Bouquet Blooms Bundle yet? Its gorgeous floral photopolymer set with 14 stamps and then the fabulous co-ordinating Gatefold Blossoms Framelits Dies to make a stunning floral Gatefold Card. Just beautiful!

I've used the fun stamp set and some of the die cut pieces for to fun and bright cards for you today! I wanted to go for something bright and fun to pull me out of my mid-winter slump here in Melbourne, Australia and I thing I may have done it.

I've gone with a black and white base and then use some of the gorgeous new 2018 - 2020 In Colours  - Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch and Lovely Lipstick for that 'pop' of bright contrasting colour.

I started with the Black and White Base layers using Basic Black cardstock and the black and white patterns from the Tropical Escape 6"x6" DSP stack. I love the subtle pattern on the DSP. They are perfect for any creation and not just with the Tropical Chic products like I've done here.

The gorgeous circle image has been stamped with clear Versamark Ink and then embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The partial stamping and embossing of the circle on the second card didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to but I love that it isn't quite perfect either. The NQR (Not Quite Right) look adds more to the look of the card and gives it another effect. Sometimes when things don't quite work out the way we want them, why not use it and just see how it turns out. You may actually be surprised with the result.

The big, bold flower is stamped in Grapefruit Grove and then the two smaller flowers are only an outline, so I stamped them with the two colours and while the ink was still wet, brushed over them with an aqua painter to pull some of that ink and 'colour' the flower with a light ink wash. You may be asking 'Where is the die for the leaves'? Well, there isn't one. I cut them with my Scan 'N' Cut or you could fussy cut them too with some Paper Snips. Either way cutting them out makes for a fabulous look and is perfect to layer the flowers with.

Both cards are embellished with some of the Grapefruit Grove 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Metallic Thread, Metallic Assortment Sequins and the Pearl Basic Jewels.

How gorgeous are those bright colours together? Certainly making me think of warmer and brighter days!

Now on to gorgeous Amy Koenders in the US for her amazing and inspiring creations!

Global Design Project 145 | #GDP145 | Colour Challenge

Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the colour challenge over at the Global Design Project 145 | #GDP145. I'm actually 'killing two birds with one stone' so as to say by entering the GDP challenge by making some tags for some team appreciation gifts.

I love playing along at GDP and I really put this challenge to myself to use this weeks challenge colours as I'm not really an orange or purples person but more of pinks and aquas. So these colours really get me out of my comfort zone.

I only just received this bundle the other day and really wanted to use it straight away! Why let new products sit untouched? I was really drawn to this super pretty bundle with my first look at the 2018 - 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It just screams my style - pretty, delicate, intricate and all things gorgeous!

I die cut the tag out of the stunning marble look DSP from the Petal Promenade DSP. I didn't want a plain Whisper White tag and this soft marble look is perfect with the intricate die cut to not be too busy!

The leaf image I stamped with Sahara Sand ink and then accented the tag with Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Grapefruit Grove 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Mint Macaron Leaf Die Cut and the 'For You stamped in Grapefruit Grove. I stamped the bird with Fresh Fig Classic Ink on Fresh Fig Cardstock and then poured over Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder for some added interest. I didn't like the way the Clear Embossing Powder bubbled up at first but then looking at it I like the way that it gives the bird some texture. I'm all about layers and texture and this 'mistake' just adds to that look that I love.

To finish off the tag I layered the die cut tag over a piece of Grapefruit Grove DSP from the In Color 6"x6" Paper Stack. I'm a huge sucker for stripes and I love the contrast of the bright striped background with the some marble DSP.

Go an check out how the Global Design Project Design Team used this gorgeous colour combo! There is lots to love there, that's for sure!

Just Add Ink #416 | Just Add a Sketch Challenge

Hello, hello! Thank you for stopping by at my blog here today! Today I bring you my card for the inspiration for you for this weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink. We have a super fun and fabulous sketch for you.

I've changed up the orientation of the sketch so that it is in the portrait orientation rather than the landscape for the only reason being is that I prefer my cards in the portrait orientation.

I'm creating again with the Stampin' Up! Painted Glass Suite. I'm so loving all the products from this suite and I'm loving all different elements and details that all the items from this suite give. Just gorgeous!

The colours for my card today came from the Color Coach file Stampin' Up! put out to demonstrators with the recent Color Revamp as the start of the new 2018 - 2019 Annual Catalogue. I used Merry Merlot, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Suede and accented the colours with Shimmery White and Basic Black.

To add more texture to the card I've embossed the card layer with the stunning Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder. To say 'WOW' at the look this embossing folder gives is an understatement! It's just so gorgeous!. Look out another product I'm going to be using on every card from now on! Ha!

To keep with the design elements of the sketch I layered one of the Stained Glass Dies on some Shimmery White Cardstock with a piece of the Graceful Glass Vellum and the Black 1/8" Cord that goes with the Painted Glass suite products. The spotty DSP comes from the Tropical Escape 6"x6" DSP stack. I loved the little black dots on the DSP and it was a gorgeous contrast to the deep and rich colour of the Merry Merlot. Layered then is a little 'wreath' on the square using the Frames Elements and the gorgeous little bird, black embossed from the Painted Glass Stamp Set.
