Just Add Ink #479 | Colour Challenge

Hello stamping friends! It's Friday again so that means it's new challenge day over at Just Add Ink. We have a gorgeous colour combo for you that almost has a summer vibe to it. It

I've used this weeks colours for a non-traditional Christmas Card incorperating the So Many Stars Bundle and the new Basic Pattern Decorative Masks all from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.

I've started with Coastal Cabana as my base layer and then used the dots pattern from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. I've used Embossing Paste with the mask here but it also looks fabulous when you sponge ink through maks as well.

I've used Pear Pizzazz for the Swirl Star die cut and then layered it with some Vellum die cut stars as well, all from the Stitched Stars Dies that coordinates with the So Many Stars stamp set.

I've then finished off the card layerin two of the sentiments from the So Many Stars stamp set. I've added a scattering of some of the sequins from the Snowflake Sequins to embellish around the card, combined with some of the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

While this isn't your traditional looking Christmas card the Stars and embellishments really give it a fun and festive look.

What comes to mind when you see these challenge colours? Can't wait to see what you create with them.

Make sure you check out all the amazing inspiration from the rest of the JAI design team for this challenge over at the Just Add Ink Blog. Want to play along? All the details are on the JAI blog. With such gorgeous colours for this challenge, what will you create?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TGIF Challenges | #TGIF233 Sketch Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to my blog. Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | TGIF #233. It's been a few weeks since I've posted on here with my kids school holidays and then I wasn't feeling 100%, it made it difficult to get in the craft room and get creative. The kids are back at school and I'm feeling heaps better so this weeks challenge over at TGIF really helped to get those creative ideas flowing.

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/10/tgif233-sketch-challenge.html

TGIF Challenges have a fabulous sketch challenge and I may have taken the sketch a little too literally. Which is not like me at all. I usually change up a sketch challenge and go a little rogue. The stripes and the flowers were just calling out for a black and white striped background with a big, bold flower from, still my favourite, Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

I'm such a sucker for a striped background and the Black and White stripe is such a classic look and it goes with just about anything. I cut 15 strips of cardstock measuring 1cm x 10.1cm and then adhered them onto a cardstock base in the black and white stripe pattern. Over that I added a Gold Stampin' Emboss splatter  to give the stripes a 'modern' look.

Over the stripes I thought the gorgeous magnolia would be the perfect addition to the beautiful background. According to the all knowing Google, pink is one of the most common colours for magnolia blossoms. Don't you just love that big pink blossom against the black and white? Such a gorgeous contrast.

Stampin’ Blends used:
  • Magnolia: Rococo Rose Dark ; Rococo Rose Light; Flirty Flamingo Light
  • Leaves: Mossy Meadow Dark; Mossy Meadow Light
  • Branch: Crumb Cake Dark; Crumb Cake Light

Because the striped background and the magnolia blossom are so striking, I felt the card didn't need much else other than the Hello sentiment, a little bit of ribbon and a light scattering of embellishments to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

I've got three projects for you today, two cards and a little gift box, using the Gold Mini Pizza Boxes from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.

My first card really showcases the beautiful, dramatic Christmas Rose image that is one of the designs in the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper. This rose in the DSP is the same size as the stamp image so you can die cut the DSP with the Rose Dies. Less fussy cutting! Yay!!!!

Once the rose image has been die cut I ran the pieces through the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture to the DSP pieces. Before adhering the die cut pieces to the card I first added a gold embossed splatter and then adhered the DSP pieces on to the Shimmery White Cardstock and raised them up with Dimensionals. The raise pieces really accentuate the DSP and create a beautiful contrast against the Shimmery White cardstock. Add the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots randomly in the open spaces and finish the card off with some cardstock die cuts, contrasting DSP, Gold Shimmery Ribbon and a sentiment from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set.

My second card uses two of the DSP patterns for a contrasting base layer. Accented with the DSP base layer is one of the dies layered under the Gold Shimmer Ribbon. I love the beauty of the rose stamped image and it looks stunning just stamped as is and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The image has been stamped on Shimmery White and then I added a layer of Clear Wink of Stella for more sparkle. It's hard to see in the photo but the shimmer is stunning with the extra layer of sparkle. It really adds to the festive feel to the project.

Finish the card off with the gorgeous Gold Glimmer Enamel Dots, Linen Thread and a sentiment from the Christmas Rose Stamp Set.

Last, and by no means least, is the gorgeous decorated Gold Mini Pizza Box. Have you seen these gorgeous Gold Mini Pizza Boxes? The shiny mini boxes team up perfectly with the rich, regal like colours and the gold foil accents in the Christmastime is Here Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Layer the Christmastime is Here Specialty DSP, Vellum, Die Cut Pieces, Gold Shimmer Ribbon, Braided Linen Thread and a sentiment and you have a beautifully decorated gift box for that extra special gift. Aren't the 'bigger' gifts in the smaller boxes? Ha! You then need a beautifully decorated gift box for that 'big' gift. With all the different elements and layering you can do with the Christmastime is Here Suite, these products make it prefect for the avid crafter to make avid projects.

Just a reminder that Stampin' Up! demonstrators have exclusive, early access to the Christmastime Is Here Suite. If you are a customer and want to get your hands on this beautiful suite early, contact me TODAY here about becoming a demonstrator and you can have these products in your starter kit.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop | Stampin' Up! Tags Tags Tags

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to this months Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. We've got lots of fun creations for you with the Tags, Tags, Tags Bundle from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.

This amazing stamp set and Trio of Tags Dies make it so easy to accent your projects.
No matter the occasion or the season, use the Tags Tags Tags Stamp Set to create matching tags for your projects. These greetings are so cute; they'd look super sweet on treat packaging and cards too!

For either Halloween, Chistmas or Valentines Day you've got the upcoming Seasons and Holidays  covered.

I've used the Christmas stamps and picked my favourite image of the three stamps to give you three different projects using these gorgeous tags. I've got two gift tags and one small, but super easy to create 3-D project.

I'm just loving the image heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock so I've used the Seasons Greeting Tag the same on all three projects.

First up is a gift tag c/ombining the Wrapped in Plaid DSP with the wreath die cut from the All-Around Wreath Dies. Super fun and super festive.

Next is, again, the Wrapped in Plaid DSP with the Seasons Greetings Tag for a quick gift tag. Creating something quick and easy helps if you have to make lots of tags for all of your gifts. Emboss the tag base for an added luxe look and team it up with some Gold Glimmer Paper to add to that special Christmas look.

Last is a super cute party favour, or could even be a place setting at your next Christmas event. Keep with the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce colour theme for that traditional Christmas look. Add some small chocolates or treats in your mini 'treat bag' for that something extra special. How cute is the little bow with the Jingle Bell added to the top to hold it the treat bag together.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration using the Tags, Tags, Tags Bundle. How fun, bright and Christmassy do they look? Super cute if you ask me!

If you have enjoyed my projects for you today be sure to share this blog hop with your crafty friends

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to the September Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Wait, What?? September?? Where has this year gone?

This month we are all about the amazing Designer Series Paper from the 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up Annual Catalogue to coincide with the current Designer Series Paper Promotion that runs till 30th September - Buy three packages of select Designer Series Paper, and get one FREE.

My project today uses the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper for a traditional 12" x 12" scrapbook page. I thought the Follow Your Art DSP and the coordinating It Starts with Art Stamp Set and the Arts and Crafts Dies would be perfect for a 2019 Artisan Design Team commemoration scrapbook page. Stampin' Up! make it so easy to create themed projects by using products from a coordinating suite.

I haven't made a scrapbook page for a long time but really enjoyed making this one to remember such a special time in my life. My papercrafting journey started nearly 20 years ago with scrapbooking but then it shifted to stamping and card making when I found Stampin' Up! products.

Because the DSP has lots of patterns and colours I wanted to start with a Whisper White 12" x12" base. Over that I die cut quite a few of the button strip die to create the texture button background. Once all the buttons were in adhered down, using the Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker I splattered the ink across the page. This adds a fun look and breaks up the white background.

I used a 1" x 4" piece of each of the DSP patterns to run down the length of the page. Then using the Take Your Pick tool, poked holes down the strips of DSP for a bit of hand sewing using the Calypso Coral Linen Thread from the coordinating Follow your Art Embellishment Kit. Just for something different and to add that bit of something, something, I sewed a portion from the top and then a portion from the bottom and then met them together on the page to tie them into a bow. Super cute, right?

Down the side of my DSP strips I accented it with the 'lace' die, die cut out of Coastal Cabana cardstock and then added two torn layers of the Follow Your Art DSP. The photo is then embellished with some more of the Follow Your Art DSP and some of the OH SO CUTE embellishments from the Follow your Art Embellishment Kit.

All finished off with some more dies and embellishments from the Arts & Crafts Dies and the Follow your Art Embellishment Kit. And really for a page like this all it needs is the simple 'Follow Your Art' sentiment that fits perfectly to the theme of my page. It really says it all.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with my project today, stepping away from my usual cards and venturing back into some traditional scrapbooking.

Just remember the fabulous DSP promotion, Buy three packages of select Designer Series Paper, and get one FREE. Contact me today for more information on this amazing promotion.

Just Add Ink #474 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome! It's Friday again so that means it's new challenge day over at Just Add Ink. We have a super pretty colour challenge that just screams leaves and flowers to me.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2019/09/just-add-ink-474colour.html

I've pulled out the hostess stamp set Believe You Can that I've had for a little while now and thought it needed some ink love. I had originally wanted to use my aqua painters to water colour the images but I wasn't happy with the way the card was tuning out so I opted for the Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers instead.

I stamped the image in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Thick cardstock and then coloured the flowers and leaves with the Stampin' Blends markers. Once coloured in I die cut the image with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

Before adhering the 'thank you' image to the card, I first covered the card front with a Gold Stampin' Emboss splatter and then over that a Blackberry Bliss splatter. Over the 'splatters' I layered some of the Sahara Sand Woven Threads Trim, a piece of Rococo Rose In Colour 6" x 6" DSP embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder, Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon, Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. I just love layering different ribbon and trims that aren't 'meant' to go together.

I've finished the card off with some of the pink sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. I'm just loving the contrast of the challenge colours against the crisp, fresh Whisper White.

What comes to mind when you see the challenge colours? Can't wait to see what you create with them.

Make sure you check out all the amazing inspiration from the rest of the JAI design team for this challenge over at the Just Add Ink Blog. Want to play along? All the details are on the JAI blog. With such gorgeous colours for this challenge, what will you create?

Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine

Hello there stamping friends. Welcome! Welcome! I am thrilled to share my projects which I designed and have been shared by Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine Blog and their post can be found HERE.

With the very recent release of the new 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue, I’m here today to provide you with some Christmas/Holiday craft inspiration. I’m using the Toile Christmas Stamp Set and the Christmas Cardinal Dies as the main focus for my projects today but also many of the products from the coordinating Toile Tidings Suite, which this stamp set and dies come from.

I’ve created 3 cards, one Gift Card Holder, some cute little party favours and as well wrapped and decorated some gifts with the coordinating Toile Tidings Gift wrap. How beautiful are the Real Red and Garden Green Colours for that traditional Christmas look?

For my first card start with a standard-sized card base using Shimmery White cardstock. Mine is 21cm x 14.8cm, scored in half to make a landscape orientation card.

Card Layers – Cut 2 pieces of Shimmery White Cardstock. 1 @ 14.6cm x 10.3cm, 1 @ 14.4cm x 10.1cm
DSP – Cut 1 piece of Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper 9 cm x 4cm

Stamp the branch image over the smaller Shimmery White Cardstock layer using Jet Black Stazon Ink in a random pattern. Then using an Aqua Painter colour in the image using Garden Green, Real Red and Soft Suede Classic Inks.

Adhere the two card layers together and then adhere to the card base. Add the Designer Series Paper piece to the front. Embellish with the Real Red 1” Ruched Ribbon, the Garden Green 3/8” Double-Stitched Ribbon, Linen Thread and Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots. Finish the card off with the sentiment panel which has been stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink on to Basic Black Cardstock and then heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

My second card is a fun square card. I love creating square cards for something different and a fun and cute look.

Card Base – Cut 1 piece of Garden Green Cardstock @ 10.16cm x 20.32cm – scored in half
Card Layer – Cut 1 piece of Garden Green Cardstock @ 9.85cm x 9.85cm and emboss with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere this to card base.

Die cut the wreath out of Garden Green Cardstock using the All-Around Wreaths Dies and then adhere it to the card front.

Stamp the Cardinal bird from the Toile Christmas Stamp set on Shimmery White Cardstock, using Jet Black Stazon Ink and then using and Aqua Painter colour in the Cardinal using Real Red and Crushed Curry Classic Ink. Once dry die cut using the Christmas Cardinal Dies and then adhere the bird to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finish the card off with some die cuts from also from the Christmas Cardinal Dies, Linen Thread, Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots and the sentiment from the Tidings All Around Stamp Set.

My third card is again cut from Shimmery White cardstock but this time in the portrait orientation.

Card Base – Cut 1 piece of Shimmery White Cardstock @ 10.5 x 29.6cm
Card Layers – Cut 2 pieces of Shimmery White Cardstock. 1 @ 14.6cm x 10.3cm, 1 @ 14.4cm x 10.1cm

Stamp the wreath image from the Tidings All Around Stamp Set on the smaller Shimmery White Cardstock Layer using Garden Green Classic Ink and then stamp the small dots on the wreath using Real Red Classic Ink. Adhere the card layers and the card base together for the beginning of your card.

Die cut a Vellum Scalloped Circle, using the Layering Circles Dies, and adhere the circle into the centre of the wreath.

Cut the Real Read 1” Ruched Ribbon in half and layer that over the vellum. Finish off the card with a piece of Garden Green 3/8” Double-Stitched Ribbon, Linen Thread, Gold Glimmer Paper Die Cuts and the sentiment panel stamped on Crumb Cake Card Stock using Jet Black Stazon Ink.

Next up in my projects for today is a gorgeous Gift Card Holder for a standard ‘credit card’ sized gift card.

Cut 2 pieces Garden Green cardstock @ 9.5 cm x 6.4cm. Then using the Stitched Rectangle Dies die cut a Garden Green panel for the inside insert.
Cut from Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper – 2 x 9.5cm circles and 2 x 6.4cm circles (either use dies for this or trace and fussy cut circles that are of the same size).

Adhere the smaller circles on the shorter side of the 9.5cm x 6.4cm Garden Green Cardstock piece, and the larger circles on the longer side. Have it so that the circles are just touching each other when they are folded over. Adhere the second Garden Green piece to the back to ‘hide’ where you have adhered the DSP and also adhere the Stitched Rectangle Piece on the inside and decorate how you would like.

Cut a 1” Real Red Belly Band to hold the Gift Card Holder closed. Decorate with Garden Green 3/8” Double-Stitched Ribbon, Linen Thread, die cuts from the Christmas Cardinal Dies and the sentiment from the Toile Christmas Stamp Set, stamped on Basic Black Cardstock with Whisper White Craft Ink and then heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

To also go with the fabulous projects so far are these super cute Mini Curvy Keepsakes Boxes. These are fabulous to fit a Ferrero Rocher or a couple of Lindt Balls in them as a gorgeous party favour or place setting for your Christmas Table.

Cut 1 piece of the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper @ 15.24cm x 15.24cm. Using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Die, die cut the box (it cuts and embosses in one piece) and fold together.
Stamp the sentiment from the Toile Christmas Stamp Set and die cut the label using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Die.

Attach the label using either Garden Green 3/8” Double-Stitched Ribbon or Real Red 1/8” Curly Ribbon. Add gold Jingle Bell with Linen Thread to add to that Christmas look and feel.

Last and by no means least I’m showing you the oh so beautiful Toile Tidings Gift Wrap. Yes! Gift Wrap! This elegant gift wrap coordinates with projects and cards that you make using the Toile Tidings Suite for that beautiful ‘everything matches’ look.

I’m just showing you two ways you can use the gift warp today but really you are only limited by your imagination. Combine the gift wrap with many of the ribbons that Stampin’ Up! has in their catalogues and use products like punches and Alphabet dies like the Hand-Lettered Prose to make personalised, coordinating gift tags.

I do hope that I’ve given you some inspiration using the products the Toile Tidings Suite and also inspiration to start those Holiday projects. Only 15 weeks till Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy stamping!
