The Stamp Review Crew | Papillon Potpourri Edition

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2016/06/stamp-review-crew-papillon-potpourri.html

A big welcome to you today!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see what the  Stamp Review Crew have to show you. We are a group of International Stampin' Up! demonstrators showcasing one stamp set at a time, every first and third Monday's of the month. This hop we are using and oldie but certainly a goodie, Papillion Potpourri.

This set as been in the Stampin' Up! collection for a little bit now but it is still an extra fabulous set. This is one of the few sets that I have left in the older style clam shell case. My collection of these cases is slowly dwindling away. And before I know it they will all be gone.

I this set is just different butterfly images with out any sentiments. Some of the images go with some of the butterfly punches in the catalogue, Elegant Buttefly and Bitty Butterfly. These punches then make it super quick and super easy to roll out a fun and fabulous card.

I've only used one of the butterfly images from the set and then teamed it up with one of the words from gthe new Thoughtful Banners set.

I started off with a light watercolour wash of Flirty Flamingo on Shimmery White cardstock. Even though the Shimmery White isn't officially a watercolour paper it still does hold a little bit of water making for a beautful water colour wash.

I've then stamped the butterfly image also with Flirty Flamingo and then punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The punch is slightly smaller than the butterfly image but it still punches out a beautiful butterfly.

Its all layered with some punched out Glassine sheets, Metalic foil doilies, Gold Sequin Trim, Melon Mambo Thick Bakers Twine and a Mint Macaron Stamped Banner. The Glassine sheets are quite thin to use a punch with and they slightly tore around the edges. I actaully love that they aren't perfectly cut out and it just gives another element to the circles. I also scruched up the glassine circles to give them some more texture, aslo for another element.

Now on to the super fabulous Dawn Tidd. If you are hoping in reverse click on the previous blog button to head on to the wonderful, Wendy Weixler.
