Springtime Impressions Gate Fold Cards | Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team Corporate Blog Post

Hello there, stamping friends! My name is Rochelle Blok and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Today I’m really excited to share two variations of a gate fold card using the Springtime Impressions Dies (item 146326). These dies are just amazing and the beautiful detail in them is stunning.

For these two cards I used a combination of Pool Party Cardstock (item 122924), Night of Navy Cardstock (item 100867), Whisper White Cardstock (item 100730), Copper Foil Sheets (item 142020), and Vellum Cardstock (item 101856). To accent each card I also used the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set (item 147513) and Itty Bitty Birthdays (item 148618).

The triangle “gates” on the first card were determined by the shape of the floral die from the Springtime Impressions Dies. I cut out two of these die cuts from Pool Party Cardstock and then gently scored the edge of the die cut to create the hinge for the gate fold. Once the floral “gates” were adhered to the card, I then layered a piece of vellum underneath to make the gates a little less flimsy.

To accent the front of the card, I layered the large butterfly die with the Layering Circles Dies (item 141705), Stitched Shapes Dies (item 145372), floral images from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set, Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (item 146912), and 3/16" Braided Linen Trim (item 147808).

To open this card, untie the ribbon, fold back the triangles, and open the flap. Inside you’ve got a spot to write your personal message, but it doesn’t show when the card is closed.

The second project is a double gate fold card. The base on the card’s “gates” uses a portion of the floral die for a white-on-white decorative look. I flicked a mixture of Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755) over the die cuts with water squeezed from my Aqua Painter (item 103954). I then poured Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder (item 141636) over the adhesive splatters and heat set the mixture with my Heat Tool (item 129056).

The ribbon and linen thread hold the card closed; when untied, the two gate folds open to reveal a rectangle panel die cut made from the Rectangle Stitched Dies (item 148551) so you can write your message.

When making cards I always forget about these fun fold cards, but they are fantastic to make and really give a different look to your creations. They make your cards extra special and give them that extra WOW. A special card is sometimes needed for a special friend, and these give that something special.
I’ve really loved making and sharing these cards with you today and hope that that I’ve inspired you to make some fun fold cards of your own.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Kelly's Stamping Friends | Birthday Blog Hop

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to my little part of blog land. I hope that you are having a fabulous week so far and that it's been a creative one.

Today I'm taking part in a special blog hop organised by my beautiful friend  Kelly Kent to celebrate her birthday. It's Kelly's birthday tomorrow, Happy Birthday Kelly, and she wanted to share her special day with her stamping friends by having a birthday blog hop! How fun!

I'm the 8th stop of 24 on this fabulous blog hop. You may have come here via Mandy Depiazzi or started the hop here with me. Either way you are in for a fun and crafty treat! Let's get ready to party!

What better way to celebrate a birthday than with a hand made birthday card? I've created my card today with the Everything is Rosy Product Medley Kit. This kit is AMAZING and it really makes it so easy to make gorgeous and stunning cards!

I've started my card today with a Night of Navy base and then used on of the stunning DSP patterns from the Everything is Rosy kit. Then using the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies (available for customers to purchase June 4th 2019), I've layered some of the Rose Gold Foil sheet with a lighter pattern from the Everything is Rosy DSP for a beautiful contrast to the darker colours.

How much more gorgeous does a card look when there are 'pretties' on the inside too? I've used the same pattern of DSP in the inside as what I did on the front for that continuity and then added the Night of Navy and Melon Mambo ribbon for some more Everything is Rosy gorgeousness. The inside is then finished off with some Linen Thread and some Night of Navy Baker's Twine and a die cut piece from the Everything is Rosy Kit.

To finish off the card I've used some more of the die cut pieces as what I did on the inside, die cut the leaves from the Rose Gold Foil Sheet, added some of the amazing Melon Mambo and Night of Navy ribbon and finished off the card with the 'Happy Birthday' from the Piece of Cake stamp set.

I do hope that I've given you some more creative ideas using this kit. Change up the colours and incorporate a different DSP and stamp set and you'll create a completely different look but with the same base design.

Just Add Ink #456 | Inspiration Picture | Stampin' Up! Floral Essence

Hello stamping friends! Welcome, welcome! We have a new challenge for you over at Just Add Ink #456 with a gorgeous inspiration picture. It's florals and its beautiful.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2019/05/just-add-ink-456inspiration.html

While you may not think that there is much in the picture to get the creative juices flowing with the white on white , I actually found lots in the picture for me to get some creative ideas. I'm using some new products  from theStampin' Up! 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue that customers can purchase from on June 4th 2019.

I started with a white card base like the picture and then I spied a little peek of what looked like a dark coloured vase so then added a small layer of Basic Black cardstock to my card. The next layer is some new coloured Vellum, Perennial Essence 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 Cm) Vellum Cardstock. It looks like there is some yellow the centre of the flowers and this is where I pulled the yellow colour from. This gorgeous coloured vellum comes in the fabulous 12" x 12" size and in the pack there are three colours, Old Olive, Petal Pink and the gorgeous yellow colour here So Saffron. the pack comes with 4 sheets of each of the 3 colours. The soft look to this coloured vellum is stunning!

To give some more texture to the Perennial Essence Vellum I embossed it with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder. I wanted something to keep in with the theme of the flowers and leaves and the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder was perfect to tie in with the theme of the card.

Next for the new products is the Floral Essence Stamp set. I've used the floral images from this set and heat embossed them in Vellum with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then layered them on a piece of Whisper White cardstock die cut with the ALL NEW Stitched Nested Labels Dies. These dies are amazing! They are going to be the new 'used on everything' product. And they go with just about anything

To finish off the embossed flowers I used the new Perennial Essence Floral Centers. These flocked centres give a fun look to the flowers and bring the whole image together. To finish off the card I embossed the leaves with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Whisper White cardstock and added some ribbon, trim and embellishments.

I hope that I've given you some inspiration with these new Stampin' Up! products. The Just Add Ink team have some amazing creations to inspire you and to show you what inspired them! Please hop on over and check out their challenge submissions and also of those that play along!  We would love to have you play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

This medley is the first product offering of this kind from Stampin' Up!, and we’re so excited about it! It is available from 1st - 31st May 2019 and is while stocks last.
Product medleys are new to Stampin’ Up!, and they’re a concept based on demonstrator feedback. In addition to being filled to the brim with cute, coordinating products, Stampin' Up! has designed the product medleys to provide you with endless creative possibilities. And what is even more fabulous is that you can order this product medley with one item number (#150059) thats a big bonus in my book!

There is so much to offer in this kit and the versatility of the products offered is just amazing!

The Everything Is Rosy Product Medley, for $139.00 AUD, includes these exclusive products:
  • Everything Is Rosy Photopolymer Stamp Set - 18 stamps; suggested blocks: a, b, c,
  • Everything Is Rosy Dies - 10 dies; largest die 2-7/8" x 1" (7.3 x 2.5 cm)
  • 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 CM) Designer Series Paper Stack - 48 sheets; 8 each of 6 double-sided designs
  • 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 CM) rose gold foil paper - 8 sheets
  • Printed die cuts -2 sheets
  • Rose gold die cuts - 4 sheets; 2 each of 2 designs
  • Rose gold adhesive backed mirror embellishments - 60 embellishments; 1/4" (6.4 mm)
  • Melon Mambo 1/4" (6.4 mm) Ruched Ribbon - 10 yards (9.1 m)
  • Night of Navy/Rose Gold 3/8" (1 cm) Metallic –Edge Ribbon - 10 yards (9.1 m)
  • Rose Gold Shimmer Paint - 1/2 oz. (15 ml)
So many products and so much versatility! The possibilities are endless. What is the saying, 'You are only limited by your imagination'!

I've created 6 cards for you today using the foil embossed side of the DSP sheets as the main focus for each card. The DSP on it's own makes for some amazing cards but then when combined with the other elements from the medley - WOW, just WOW!!! With all the products together, they really appeal to my layering style and once I got going creating I was on a roll. I just had to use everything in the medley.

All the cards today I've started with a Whisper White Base as a fabulous contrast to the gorgeous colours in the medley. Use the long framelit with the Rose Gold Foil to make a delicate border or the Melon Mambo 1/4" Ruched Ribbon to make some folded ribbon roses.

Some of the DSP patters may seem a little busy but combine them with a layer of vellum and, while the pattern still shows through, the vellum just softens the busy patterns. How fabulous does the Night of Navy DSP look with a layer of the Rose Gold foil? So gorgeous! Here's a tip - if you want a coordinating 'twine', cut the edge off the ribbons from the medley, pull out the threads and use it how you would normally use twine and thread in your projects.

The die cut labels and shapes really make it easy to put some pretty cards together. Cut the labels in half to lengthen them or shorten them, when layering with other labels. Layer the pre-printed die cut images with some of the die cut shapes from the framelits set and you have some stunning cards, put together in now time. To get a different look, change the orientation of the DSP or even add a spritz of the shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol. With so many products no two projects will be the same.

I do hope that I've given you some ideas with this amazing product medley. How amazing do the products look all coordinated together. Super gorgeous, super pretty, super amazing, super rosy! Run, don't walk and get the Everything Is Rosy Product Medley today. Don’t wait until tomorrow because these kits will sell out FAST! Order your kit from me HERE today and it will be delivered straight to your door! You won't be disappointed!

Now on to the amazing Stesha Bloodhart in the U.S. That girl is crazy creative and she doesn't disappoint with her Everything is Rosy projects!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Needlepoint Nook

Hello there stamping friends! I hope you are having a fabulous week. It's been a busy one here with my kids home for school holidays and all of the extra things that you do when they are home.  I'm excited to share with you this new Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. This hop we are all about the Needlepoint Nook Suite found on pgs. 38 - 39 of the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

If you are into sewing/cross-stitch/needlepoint/embroidery, then this product suite is right up your alley! And a lot quicker to add that gorgeous stitching detail to your projects rather than pulling out the needle and thread.  I've got a gorgeous layered birthday card and then a Thank You Card Gift set for my projects today.

The main colours for my cards today, Night of Navy and Blushing Bride, come from the coordinating Needlepoint Nook DSP. This amazing DSP has stunning photographic imagery of hand-stitched embroidery and richly coloured, beautifully detailed designs. An embroidery artist actually hand embroidered the patterns for the DSP and then Stampin' Up! then photographed the embroidery to get that amazing photographic imagery. Its really stunning how the DSP was put together. Check out more about this stunning DSP and the whole Needlepoint Nook Suite at the Stampin' Up! You Tube Channel HERE. It really is awesome to see how it all came together.

I really wanted to show off the embossing dies that come in the coordinating Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies. How good do they look embossed into the base layer and then having the DSP, stamped images and other elements from the suite layered over top .

I especially love the simple elegance this embossing die gives to 'pretty up' the envelope. Just trace around the envelope flap in your favourite colour cardstock (or DSP), emboss the cardstock piece in your die cutting machine and then adhere it to your envelope. It couldn't be simpler. I know I would love to receive a card with some extra special touches on the envelope as well.

The Thank You cards are kept in with similar design elements to the main birthday card. Just changing up the design of each one with different elements from the Needle and Thread Photopolymer Stamp Set and then the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies and again 'prettying up' the envelopes but this time with DSP.  Bundle them together with some gorgeous packaging and you've got a beautiful handmade gift.

I hope that I've given you some inspiration with this suite today. I really love that my projects today don't contain much white but really focus on more colour in each element.

Now on to the all amazing, all gorgeous Stesha Bloodhart in the U.S. with her bright and fun projects. You will be WOWed!

Just Add Ink #452 | Sketch Challenge

Hello my stamping friends! We have a new sketch over at Just Add Ink designed by JAI team member Tina Gillespie. It's a little bit quirky and different and yet is also super fun.

I've stretched the sketch a little and not used the circles exactly but carefully cut out a piece of the Stampin' Up! Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper to replicate the circles running down the left hand side of the card.

I die-cut a  rectangle out of the Whisper White cardstock using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies and then layered under that is a piece of DSP from the Petal Promenade DSP pack. I gave the DSP a little bit of something extra by mixing Multipurpose Adhesive and Water together and then using an aqua painter, flicked on the watered down adhesive and then covered it with Gold Stampin' Embossing Powder. How good does the DSP look under the Laser-Cut Paper and the Rectangle Frame. I love the Contrast of the Petal Pink, Gold and Whisper White.

The Pool Party Panel I cut with my Scan N Cut after tracing the Framelit Die that the vellum layer is made from, well the stitching part any way, to cut out the vellum I used the Pretty Label Punch. To finish off the card I added some of my favourite ribbon, trim and embellishments and added the Happy Birthday from the Well Said Bundle. How pretty is this colour combo?

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Just Add Ink Blog to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

TGIF Challenges | TGIF #205 Bonus week!!! It's a party! | Birthday Statement Stamp Set

Hello, hello stamping friends! Welcome to my blog. Today I'm playing along and entering my card in the challenge over at TGIF Challenges | TGIF #205. It's a super fun Balloon Party Theme.

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/03/tgifc205-bonus-week-its-party.html

When I saw the TGIF theme for this week I knew exactly which set I wanted to use and play along with for this challenge, Stampin' Up!'s Birthday Statements stamp set. It's got the balloons. decorations and flowers, perfect for a party. I purchased this set a while ago but just hadn't had the chance to ink it up. Till now.

I've kept my card fairly CAS (clean and simple) as this image from the Birthday Statements set is quite busy. All it needs is a bit of colour and a little bit of trim. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus Stamp Placement Tool when stamping the image so that I could repeatedly stamp the image, reink and stamp again to get a crisp, clean image with full ink coverage.

Once the Memento Ink dried I coloured the image in using the Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. The colours I used were Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green but you can use whatever colour combination you like. Or even try a different colouring medium.

Just a little bit of Linen Thread, Gold Metallic Thread, Gold Mini Sequin Trim and a Heat Embossed Sentiment to finish off the card and that's all that it really needs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!
