Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop | Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome to the September Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Wait, What?? September?? Where has this year gone?

This month we are all about the amazing Designer Series Paper from the 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up Annual Catalogue to coincide with the current Designer Series Paper Promotion that runs till 30th September - Buy three packages of select Designer Series Paper, and get one FREE.

My project today uses the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper for a traditional 12" x 12" scrapbook page. I thought the Follow Your Art DSP and the coordinating It Starts with Art Stamp Set and the Arts and Crafts Dies would be perfect for a 2019 Artisan Design Team commemoration scrapbook page. Stampin' Up! make it so easy to create themed projects by using products from a coordinating suite.

I haven't made a scrapbook page for a long time but really enjoyed making this one to remember such a special time in my life. My papercrafting journey started nearly 20 years ago with scrapbooking but then it shifted to stamping and card making when I found Stampin' Up! products.

Because the DSP has lots of patterns and colours I wanted to start with a Whisper White 12" x12" base. Over that I die cut quite a few of the button strip die to create the texture button background. Once all the buttons were in adhered down, using the Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker I splattered the ink across the page. This adds a fun look and breaks up the white background.

I used a 1" x 4" piece of each of the DSP patterns to run down the length of the page. Then using the Take Your Pick tool, poked holes down the strips of DSP for a bit of hand sewing using the Calypso Coral Linen Thread from the coordinating Follow your Art Embellishment Kit. Just for something different and to add that bit of something, something, I sewed a portion from the top and then a portion from the bottom and then met them together on the page to tie them into a bow. Super cute, right?

Down the side of my DSP strips I accented it with the 'lace' die, die cut out of Coastal Cabana cardstock and then added two torn layers of the Follow Your Art DSP. The photo is then embellished with some more of the Follow Your Art DSP and some of the OH SO CUTE embellishments from the Follow your Art Embellishment Kit.

All finished off with some more dies and embellishments from the Arts & Crafts Dies and the Follow your Art Embellishment Kit. And really for a page like this all it needs is the simple 'Follow Your Art' sentiment that fits perfectly to the theme of my page. It really says it all.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration with my project today, stepping away from my usual cards and venturing back into some traditional scrapbooking.
