This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is an inspiration pic challenge. Its very lacy, very flowery, very pretty, almost has a vintage feel to it! It's all the things I LOVE! Here is the pic ...
See, so pretty.
And here is my card...
And here is my card...
Its time to start thinking about those Mother's Day creations as Mother's Day is just over a month away here in Australia. As I'm preparing this blog post I've only just realised I've used a very similar layout for my previous creation. It must work for me.
I've used stamped the flowers from Choose Happiness stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar and then 'fussy' cut them out.
I've layered the Venetian Crochet Trim on the Burlap Ribbon. I originally had the new Sahara Sand Lace layered on the Burlap but it was blending in too much and just didn't look 'right'. I do like the contrast of the cream Crochet trim on the burlap.Tip: Did you know that you can 'cut' the burlap ribbon with the Large Scallop Edgelit Die (I'm sure other framelits, thinlits and edgelits too)? Make sure you run it back and forth through the Big Shot a few times to ensure that the Burlap is cut right through.
Now that the Blendabilites are no longer available (Boohooho *still crying my eyes out*). I've gone back to some of the original colouring methods that Stampin' Up! offer. Here I've stamped the leaves, also from Choose Happiness, on watercolour paper and then used the Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen to colour the leaves. The branch I only used the marker. It is a stunning way to colour!
Make sure you check out all of the other stunning creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team and then come and join in this weeks challenge and see what inspires you in the inspiration pic.

DeleteThose leaves! Lol I noticed them first - must be your gorgeous colouring. You've managed to combine so many of the inspiration elements in one card. So beautiful Rochelle, lots of lovely detail and I love the ribbon and lace popping out from under your flowers. x

ReplyDeleteThanks Jan. Must say though that the scalloped burlap wasn't my idea but I really love the look of it!
