Just Add Ink #704 | Colour Challenge

Hello there stamping friends! I hope that you are having a fantastic week and a fabulous day! It's Friday, Yay, and that means it's time for another Just Add Ink Challenge -Just Add Ink #704 | Colour Challenge.

This week we have a colour combo suggested by Me! We are creating with Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Fresh Freesia, and Lemon Lolly. A pretty and fun colour combo.

I've been creating a lot lately with the Country Flowers Stamp Set/Country Woods Suite and I still love it! This week, using the Masking Technique, I've used one of the floral images from the Country Flowers Stamp Set to create a border down the side of the card. I've actually CASE-d myself from a couple of cards that I made a few years ago HERE and HERE using the same masking technique.

I've use 3 of the challenge colours, Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Freesia, and Lemon Lolly on the flowers (plus on sneaky extra on the leaves) and then over the card I've done a Gorgeous Grape splatter using a Stampin' Write Maker. Around the edge of the front panel I've used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and a ruler to rule the lines around the edge of the card.

I've coloured the flowers in with Stampin' Blends and used a variety of different blends to achieve the the look that I was after and to get a greater contrast between the dark and light makers. To see all the Blends used check out the supplies list below.

I finished the card of with a layering of circle die cuts and the foliage die cut in Vellum from the Citrus Blooms Dies, Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon, Linen Thread, Heat Embossed Sentiment, and some Iridescent Basic Pearls.

I do hope that I've given you some inspiration using our challenge colours. Go and check out the design teams take on this week's colours at the Just Add Ink Blog for some inspiration and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

CASE-ing the Catty | #CTC471 | Case your choice of Sketch from page 22

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for CASE-ing the Catty, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from Peta's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. And this week we are CASE-ing our choice of sketches that are found on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue. There are 22 sketches so I'm sure there is at least one that inspires you.

If you've been following me here for a while you'll know that I love a sketch challenge. I think because I find them the easiest of all the challenges and I usually get a whole heap of different ideas flowing so its easy to get crafting with a sketch. I also say that a sketch is more of a guide or starting point and I usually end up changing something from the sketch. I try to keep the basic design principles of the sketch but sometimes things need to be changed to suit the project better.

I was really drawn to this grid like sketch when trying to decide on what sketch I was going to use. I wanted to use one of the sketches that was a little bit of a different design as to what I normally do when creating cards and this was it.

I've used the grid design to create my own background using strips of Basic Black and Basic White. I do love a Black and White stripe and thought that this would go perfectly with the orange colourings of the oranges from the Mediterranean Blooms DSP.  I've made a couple of projects recently with Blue and White combined with the Mediterranean Blooms Citrus images, which I love but I'm also loving this black and white colour combo with the citrus images too.

I've used a few layers of Basic White under the striped grid and then fussy cut the orange image to make it the main focus of the card. I love that with these images they are the 'star of the show' and you don't need to put much else with them if you don't want to. Me, of course, had to add some extra die cuts and some ribbon and trim. A card isn't a card without these things in my book.

I've layered one of the Citrus Blooms foliage die cuts, Linen thread and the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check to coordinate with the card. Can't go without that Linen Thread.

I finished the card off with a little 'Hello' banner with a ruffled ribbon edge and some Opal Rounds embellishments. This is where I differ from the sketch a little. A banner placed on the card like in the sketch just wouldn't work in my book but put on the card down a little bit is a much better placement.

I hope that I've inspired you with my take on this sketch and make sure you check out all the sketches on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. These sketches are a great way to get that crafting mojo going especially if you are in a crafting slump. Why not try an use all 22?!

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.

Next up on the hop is Michelle Strazds with her amazing take on one of the sketches. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.

We would love to have you join us over at our Facebook group to share your creation CASE-ing a project from the 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and join in this weeks challenge. You don't need to have a blog to join in!

Just Add Ink #703 | Just Choose Two Challenge

Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #703 | Just Choose Two Challenge.  This week our Just Choose Two Challenge has been chosen by team member Kerry.

Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing from Balloons, Bright Colours and Birthday. This is one of those Just Choose Two where it is easy to use all three options. I chose balloons and bright colours but ended up choosing birthday as well. How could I not choose Birthday as well when balloons are involved?

Today I've used the new and fabulous Mix and Match Ephemera products from Stampin' Up!. I've said it before these products make for some quick and easy crafting! They also make crafting quite affordable as you only need a few products to be able to put together some fabulous creations.

Here I've used one of the cards from the Sunny Springs Mix and Match Cards & Envelopes as my base layer. You can use the card as is but I've added some splatters using the Shy Shamrock Stampin' Write Marker to step it up a bit.

Next was the hardest part, picking which pieces of ephemera to layer together. I knew I wanted the dog with his/her cute party hat and the balloons and the rest was a matter of playing around with what I thought was a good combination of layered ephemera pieces. I'm happy with what I put together. There is no right or wrong here when placing these items together. Just have a go and play around with the ephemera pieces.

Due to the bright colours and all the different layered pieces I thought the card didn't need much embellishment. Just some Linen Thread and some Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots. Your creations always need a little embellishment!

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.

Global Design Project #446 | #GDP446 | Sketch Challenge

Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #446 | #GDP446 | Sketch Challenge.

It's been a white since I've played along over at the GDP but was super keen to join their sketch challenge for this week. As soon as I saw the sketch over on Instagram I had a few ideas swirling around in my head.

I had just recieved an order from Stampin' Up! a few days ago with the amazing Mediterannean Blooms Suite and knew that is what I wanted to use for my card today.

I've predominantly used the Mediterranean Blooms DSP for this card. I'm so loving the blue and white DSP patterns and when you combine a couple of these patterns together they make for an amazing project. Doesn't the DSP look like those Mediterranean blue-and-white tile designs? I love it!

On the other side of the blue and white DSP designs is are beautiful images of blossoming lemons and oranges. These citrus fruits make a beautiful contrast to the blue and white and are beautiful to fussy cut and use on their own,  on the front of your card, like what I've done here.

I've layered the lemon image on one of the Spotlight on Nature circles and a foliage die cut from the Citrus Blooms Dies.

Due to the busy-ness of the amazing DSP I thought the card didn't need much else other than some Linen Thread, some Opal Rounds and the heat embossed Happy Birthday Sentiment that comes from the Friends for Life Stamp Set.

Did I say I'm loving this DSP? I'm sure there will be more project using this stunning paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASE-ing the Catty | #CTC470 | CASE the Colours of the Frames & Flowers DSP

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for CASE-ing the Catty, to kick off the new challenge for the week.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. And this week we are CASE-ing from the Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025  Annual Catalogue the colours of Frames & Flowers DSP - Found on Pgs. 28 - 29. There are 10 colours in this DSP - Early Espresso, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam. That's a lot of colours. If you are playing along this week use a minimum of 4 of these beautiful colours.

The Frames & Flowers Specialty 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Paper is unlike other patterned paper packs. It has three sheets of double-sided designs with floral and greenery designs on one side and all-purpose patterns on the other. And it also has three sheets of die-cut greenery elements that you can use on card fronts or to frame photos on scrapbook pages. As a fun plus, some of the die-cuts are sized to fit card fronts, making it easy to create quick, beautiful cards.

You get 6 sheets of patterned paper: 1 each of 3 double-sided designs and 1 each of 3 single-sided die-cut designs.

Since we are CASE-ing these gorgeous colours why not use the actual Frames & Flowers DSP in our projects? I've used one of the DSP sheets and a few of the die cut pieces for my card today.

I've started with a Soft Sea Foam base and then layered with cardstock and die cuts up from there. Like the Stampin' Up! Mix and Match Ephemera, the die cut pieces make it easy to create beautiful cards with minimal fuss. The Soft Sea Foam cardstock with the Pretty Peacock DSP makes for gorgeous colur combo.

The Eyelet 3D Embossing folder embossed on the Soft Sea Foam creates some beautiful texture as does the embossing around the die cut circle.

I finished the card off with a little foliage spray, Linen thread, Iridescent Pearls, the 'Happy' from the Say Something Mix and Match Ephemera and the Heat Embossed Birtday from the Friends for Life Stamp Set.

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.

Next up on the hop is Julia Quinn with her 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue creation. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.

Just Add Ink #702 | Sketch Challenge

Hello stamping friends. Happy Friday! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm here today with the Just Add Ink Design Team for the new Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add Ink #702 | Sketch Challenge. This week we have a fabulous sketch for you designed by fellow JAI team member - Lou Kitzelman.

I recently recieved a Stampin' Up! order and really wanted to create something with the Lily Pond Lane suite. I had the layers of cardstock and DSP all cut out and put together and then went to use the Charming Duck Pond Stamps and Dies and they just didn't look right on the squares. So I had to resort to Plan B. Or as I call it 'Pivoting'. Do you ever have to resort to Plan B when creating your projects?

Plan B was the Simply Zinnia Dies. They looked a whole lot better than Plan A. Beacause the pink gingham DSP was Pretty in Pink the Zinnia Flowers had to then be Pretty in Pink. Got to keep that colour coordination. Once the flowers and leaves were die cut I blended some ink on the edeges to give these items a little more definition.

In the centre of the flowers I used Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight to finish off the flowers. I love the soft, pretty look to the Zinnia. And yes Zinnias do come in pale colours too. Not just the bright colours that we tend to see them in.

I've finished off the card with some Linen Thread, some Pretty in Pink gems that come from the 2024–2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems, and the 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiemnt from the Sentimental Rose Kit (which is still available online).

I do hope that I've inspired you with my card for the sketch challenge. Go and check out the design teams take on the sketch at the Just Add Ink Blog for some inspiration and then come and join in this week's sketch fun! I can't wait to see what you create.

CASE-ing the Catty | CTC #469 | Case the Mix & Match Section

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for CASE-ing the Catty, to kick off the new challenge for the week.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. And this week we are CASE-ing from the new Mix and Match Section in the Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025  Annual Catalogue. Found on Pgs. 18 - 21.

The Mix & Match Envelopes & Ephemera give you a quick and easy option for crafting that gives you a personalised creative experience as opposed to a kit where you follow step-by-step instructions that guide you though the crafting process.

Today I've used the Basic Gray card in the middle above as the basis for my CASE-d card but used the Country Woods Suite for my card as opposed to using the Mix & Match Envelopes & Ephemera. I really loved the layout of the card and CASE-d that for my card, keeping the bones of the design.

I've started with a Basic White card base and layered Basic White on that embossed with the beautiful Eyelet 3D Embossing folder. I've turned my piece of cardstock over so the embossing looks indented into the cardstock. I only did this because I added some blending of ink on the other side and did't like it but didn't want to waste the cardstock so I turned it over. Waste not want not right? Ha! Looks good either which way you have the embossing.

I've kept the banner piece like the original but this is where things are changed up. I've layered a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies under the banner and over top added some stips of Country Lace DSP and the leaves and flowers from the Country Flowers Bundle.

I've used Stampin' Blends to colour the flowers and also added some smaller flowers from the Country Birdhouse stamp set to the floral cluster.

Stampin' Blends Used
Flowers - Light Peach Pie, Light and Dark Petal Pink, Light Summer Splash, Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Boho Blue, Light Balmy Blue
Leaves - Light and Dark Gray Granite

I've finished the card off with some Mossy Meadow leaves, Linen Thread, some Basic Gray Pearls, and the Happy Birthday Sentiment.

I really love how you can use a card as a basis for your card and it ends up with a completely different look. The beauty of CASE-ing really!

There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team.

Next up on the hop is fabulous Julia Quinn her Mix & Match CASE. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.
