By The Tide Father's Day

This coming Sunday we celebrate everything about our Fathers for Father's Day. This card is for my Father-in-law who loves his fishing! I reckon if he could go fishing every day he would he loves it that much. Lucky he doesn't read my blog so I can post this card on here before the big day!

This is another one of those stamp sets that I've had for a long time and rarely use. It is one of about 5 sets that are still in the older style clam shell cases. I really should use it more often because it really is an awesome set.

The striped DSP panel is from one of the new Christmas DSP from the Holiday Catty,    , but I thought it was perfect for my water themed card.

I stamped the fish in Island Indigo and then using a blender pen pulled the colour from the edges to give the fish a light bit of colour. On the shell I picked up a little bit of Blushing Bride with the Blender Pen to give it a bit colour

I stamped the coral image on vellum with Versamark and heat set some gold embossing powder on it. It really is an easy technique that gives a really great effect. The card is then finished off with some gold cording, linen thread, burlap ribbon and gold metallic tread. Now to make a card for my dad and help my kids make one for their dad.

Below is a list of all the items that I used in this project. If you live in Australia and would like to purchase and of these items used then just click on the image and you will be directed to my online store.

INKreators Blog Hop - 2015 Holiday Catalogue Favourites

I'm so excited, I've had a lot of exciting milestones on my blog recently. I reached 100,000 page views last week and then today this is my 200th post on my blog and what better way to have my 200th post than to have The INKreators Blog Hop.

You may have come from the super cool, super fun Liv Ingle or you may have started here. Either way you are in for a creative treat with a small but exceptionally talented group of ladies!

This hop we are showing some of our favourite products from the new Holiday Catalogue that starts TODAY!!!!!! SO exciting that you can all order from it now too! Check it out here!

I'm using a stamp set that really caught my eye for some beautiful colouring in, 'All Ye Faithful'.  When I first saw this set it really reminded me of the Nativity Scene that I purchased about 15yrs ago.

My card is like two cards in one, so scroll on down to see what I've made for you today.

I have used the new Sleigh Ride Edgelits because I thought the little 'township' was Bethlehem and that was very fitting for the theme of my card today.

The night time sky was sponged with Night of Navy and Soft Sky and then embossed with the new Softly Falling Embossing folder.  Makes it look like stars in the sky.

And then when you open the card we have a pop-up manger/stable  scene. When I first saw this set along with colouring these images in I really wanted to create a pop-up scene. This is the first ever pop-up card I've done and were a few things that I needed to work out. I think I got there in the end.

Did you know that there are about 15 different colours used to colour in the images??!! WOW, Right?? Took a lot of time and patience, that's for sure!

The stable frame was first stamped using the Hardwood background stamp and then cut so that it looked proportional in size to the characters in the scene.

I'm really loving how the card turned out and how close to my idea in my head it turned out to be. Sometimes when I do get ideas the finished product can be way different to what I had originally thought. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad and that is when its 'back to the drawing board' for some new ideas!

It's all finished off with a Gold Glimmer star and some gold accents!

I hope that I've inspired you today with some of the new Holiday Catalogue products  so that you can start on your Christmas cards and crafts today!

Now click on the 'Next Blog' button below to the super talented Lauren, to see the fantastic things she has done Jingle All The Way stamps & Sleigh Ride Edgelits. I can't wait for you to see it!

I've used the Season of Cheer DSP and the Spotty Panel is from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack.  The DSP is has a soft look of watercolour and is all hand-painted imagery! It is just stunning! My photos just don't do it justice! You really have to see it yourself.

I'm still loving all my gold accents and they go perfectly with the DSP!
The stars look pink but they are gold! I was wearing a pink jumper when I took the photo and that has reflected onto the stars! HA!

Just Add Ink #277 - Just Add a Colour Combo

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge, brought to you by Kim, using some beautiful, spring like colours! Bring on spring!  I'm so looking forward to this miserable winter being over maybe that's why I'm so eager for it to be spring!

These colours are so pretty together. Just love it!

I've used a two stamp sets that I haven't used for a long time, Everything Eleanor and Papillion Potpourri. They are both stunning sets and I don't know why I have left them for so long!

I was inspired by a card on made by one of my fellow demos Chloe Evans at Chlo's Craft Closet where she white embossed the Butterfly and coloured it in using aqua painters. I think she actually reminded me what a great set Papillion Butterfly actually is and that I should get it out more often.

I made the frame using the new Tags & Labels Framelits. I cut out the smaller size first and then lined up the larger framelit around the previously cut shape and then cut it out. Whala! A gorgeous frame!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team and their fabulous creations! They are so good! Also come and enter your creation using these fabulous colours!

Thanks for Stopping By!

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catty Sneak Peek - Delicate Ornament Thinlits

This is one of those products that when I first saw it in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue, I had to have it. The Delicate Ornament Thinlit Dies. They are just so pretty and well, delicate. One of the best things about these dies is that they co-ordinate with a stamp set, Embellished Ornaments! YAY! And what is even better is that the stamp set and dies are one of the Bundle and save bundles in the Holiday Catalogue where you can order them together and save 15%! WOOHOO! Love that!

I've used the Delicate Ornament Dies to make a gift tag. How stunning would this tag look on a beautifully wrapped gift with some matching red ribbon and the tag attached to the top. I've stamped the Holly image from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set on Shimmery White cardstock and then using my Blender Pen I've pulled some of the colour from the edges to give the leaves a bit of colour.

Don't have Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (I thought I had some for the Holly berries, Nope. Must put some on my next order!),  punch out Red Glimmer Paper using the handheld circle punches and stick those on.

Because these dies are so detailed and intricate I used another new product to assist me to get all those die cut pieces out. The Precision Base Plate to go with your Big Shot made cutting all those delicate details out a breeze. It was so easy. All those pieces popped out in seconds! If you love and use a lot of the detailed Thinlits, the Precision Base Plate is a must for the top of your wish list!

How beautiful is the Red Foil Sheet behind the Gold Glimmer. It's so pretty! And the Winter Wonderland embellishment. Can't go past me a bit of shimmer and bling.

Thanks so Much for Stopping By!

Just Add Ink #276 - Just Add Cards for Males

This week at Just Add Ink we have a male inspired challenge, Just Add Cards for Males brought to you by Jan. With Father's Day coming up in September (in Australia) its a perfect time to create some male cards.

Today I've used a stamp set that I've had for a such a long time and haven't used (um-ah), Lovely as A Tree. It is one of the few stamp sets that I still have in the older style plastic clamshell style case.

One thing about male cards, I find is that they look so bare or naked without all the glitter, sequins, ribbons and all the pretties.

I've stamped the tree image on the Typeset DSP and the solid striped DSP actually comes from the Timeless Elegance DSP. I really like the boldness of the 'happy' die cut out of Basic Black cardstock.

I still had to put some buttons on it and some metallic thread. Got to have that metallic thread on my cards. I can't make one without it. Ha!

Make sure you check out the amazing creations from the other Just Add Ink Ladies. They are one talented group of gals!

Can You Case It #82 - Home for Christmas

I've been itching to have a play with my new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catty goodies (you can get yours Sept 1st) and what better way than to use them in a challenge. I'm entering my card today to the Can You Case It challenge site and this week they have a sketch challenge. YAY!!! My favourite!!!! I really do love a sketch challenge.

Today I'm using the oh so wonderful Home For Christmas DSP. It's bright and absolutely beautiful and the images are all hand drawn. Doesn't it make you feel nostalgic to the images of Christmases from years ago. It's got a beautiful vintage feel.

I've cut out one of the images from the Santa DSP to 'pop up' in the square. If I knew how to do paper tole, I would have a go at layering the images. I think they would look stunning like that.

Some of the other new products I've used is the wooden Snowflake Elements and the super stunning Gold Glitter Ribbon.

I really thought that because the DSP is all quite 'busy' looking that it didn't really need much else other than a quick sentiment stamped with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp.

Thanks for Stopping by and please leave a comment as I love to hear what you think of my creations!
