CASE-ing the Catty | #CTC493 | CASE the Sentimental Christmas Suite page 28

Hello Stamping Friends. Welcome to a super exciting CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop. We at CASE-ing the Catty are about CASE-ing the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues (Catty) with a different theme to CASE each week. To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit.

This week, we are CASE-ing the Sentimental Christmas Suite found on pg. 28 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalogue.

If you've come from Julia Quinn's blog, welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome.

I love the vintage and nostalgic feel of this suite. Takes me right back to the Christmas images of my childhood with a big trip down memory lane.

For my card today I didn't use the products from this suite but used the sample above and its design elements for the basis of my Sophisticated Sled Christmas Card, CASE-ing the amazing sample.

This Stampin' Up! Online Exclusive bundle didn't grab me initially, but I've seen quite a few amazing projects using this bundle since it was released and just had to get it. I think because this bundle has a wintery Christmas theme that is what put me off a little. As you all know it's summer here in Australia at Christmas time and we are far from thinking about winter. There is something about having a cold or 'white' Christmas that I would love to experience one day. Both my husband and I have relatives in The Netherlands so maybe we might have to have a Christmas in Europe one year while visiting family.

I did initially start this card off with some of the Take a Bow 6" x 6" DSP, that is why I used Garden Green and Real Red for my card. I removed the DSP as I wasn't vibing with in on the card, but I liked the Garden Green and Real Red as the base layers on the card, so I kept them. I've embossed the Garden Green with the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder and the Real Red Banner piece with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. I've loving using more than one embossing folder on my cards lately. It's a fantastic way to add more elements and interest to your cards without adding too much more bulk or layers. Let's see if I can get 3 embossed pieces on my next card.

How amazing and detailed are the Sophisticated Sled dies? I love the wood grain cut into the sled and how amazing do those ice skates look with the detailed laces. Just beautiful! I've layered the sled on a Spotlight on Nature circle and then finished the die off with some Black and Very Vanilla Large Check ribbon (cut in half), some of the Gold Twisted Thread (currently on Pre order for demos), and one of the Gold Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments.

I've kept all the same design elements as the original sample but just changed the layering around as I liked it better that way.
